Maybe I wasn't clear. The SUN runs Solaris, our horde of intel machines
and an alpha or two run Linux.
The 2.2 kernels do not do NFS very well. If we can keep up a system for
a whole day with all while all of it's nfs mounted file systems still
useable, and still exporting them properly I would be amazed.
(Yes, I use automounter).
2.4.0-test6 stays up with NFS working for almost a week at a time.
Having a SUN is not good enough, most of our files are on idividual
machines, and the NFS problems are for both mounts and exports.

Too many machines to convert, not counting the cost (of all those
solaris licenses)

Can't do that, too far in bed with RedHat. :-(
