it _looks_, cause that's what you tend to see around you. i would suggest
that you make a yearly subscription to the "linux journal", and check out
in particular for the "linux means business" column, which gives an
example of linux being used in various institutes (commercial, government,
etc) to perform various types of tasks (this includes setting network
connectivity for remote branches, monitoring distributed SCADA systems,
monitoring damanage made to train wheels in germany, monitoring data on
buses across the italian highways, serving a 200 branches retail shops
network as a "point of sail" system and database, etc. etc. etc.).
