On some new Intel Chipset based motherboard (i believe the 810,815) even the
bios reports only 255MB. this is because the integrated display adapder uses
this as his memory. the same thing happens in some big brand computer (i
know Compaq does this, and assume others too) the bios or whatever take a
little tiny partition for itself, as a "System Partition" or whatever they
call it.
this, in most cases, just fine, and doesn't inteinter interferer with
anything, and anyway, nothing can be done about it, excep maybe not buying
Intels desktop boards :)
