Re: Connecting a console.
Hi,
I have such a VT already for several years. Can only tell that it is 10
times better than any other thing.
Anyway, I use agetty like this:
s1:123:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyS1 38400 vt320
I also had to patch my termcap for screen to use the hardware status line
of the VT (a very nice feature).
Look on sites like pccables.com/org or similar sounding stuff and look for
PC cabling on yahoo etc. That's how I always find cabling schemes when I
need them (Basically a pinout is enough anyway).
In any case you need a null-modem cable, not a straight one.

PS: If you get to use it, try to run programs like mc. on my VT is just
goes into a frency and starts to print only ?. Seems like there is a
problem with the escape characters. The same happens under screen,
btw. and I really would like to find a solution for this.
Sincerely,
Schlomo Schapiro
