I downloaded the Rh 7.0 beta as RPM's and installed those things I felt were
needed, and ignored the one's I did not. What bothered me is that they
were still using a 2.2.16 kernel. While it is stable, all of the 2.2.x
kernels had NFS problems.
These problems caused use to have to reboot systems every other day,
which was a problem for the users of those systems. I upgraded the
kernel to 2.4.0-test6, and it works well. I wish that R/H would test
their NFS better.
In plain English it seems to me that Red Hat has gone over to the Microsoft
method of testing systems. :-(
