Matrox Millenium G400 Card
I need to configure a Matrox Millenium G400 model G4+MA16G (16Mb on
board, 300 MHz RAMDAC).
The card is of the AGP type.
I'm running SuSE 6.3 and the supplied X 3.3.5 server.
For the moment I am using the X generic SVGA server - which works upto a
point. The problem starts when I telnet into our AIX server to run the
IBM Visual Age C++ IDE. The fonts are OK, but the colours and images
(icons &C) are atrocious. I am running on 1024x768. I have tried using
such things as startx -- -bpp 24 or even 32 but I suspect that it is
ignored by the SVGA driver.
Can anyone suggest a better choice of driver for this card?
(N.B. Matrox seem to be working on a Linux driver as yet unreleased; I
have also sent a query to Metro Link.)
Thanks,
Dan Feiglin
