advances on FS's
Hi all (and herouth, nice to se you here).
Does anybody happen to have more info on the implementation of jfs or
advfs on current linux distribs ? I see that XFS is almost coming to terms
with linux and I plan to implement it as soon as it goes RH-like; but
expanding FS's is VERY nice, and I have no info on that.
Re: shuffling mount points - once i used to have a second HD mounted over
an existing root entry point, like that:
/usr - hda
/usr/users - hdb
the kernel wouldn't fcsk hdb upon boot, so I dropped the idea and added an
entry point like that:
/usr - hda
/users - hdb
Is option 2 healthier, or should I use option 1 (which I prefer) and
reconfigure fstab for fcsk'ing it on boot ? Which impact would option 1
hold on the filesystem's ability to recover, say, from a crash, or
thinking about the future, co-exist with XFS ?
Cheers, TIA,
