well, i think that the computer was on for about 2 months, and this disk
was the home-dirs.

its in lba mode, and i don't see why it shouldn't work perfectly in the
slower ide1 port. the computer is a P233MMX with ASUS mobo and 256MB ram.

i'm using 2.2.13 so i don't see why it should give ide errors rather than
filesystem errors. when i got the disk i formatted it with:
mkfs -c /dev/hdc1 (with badblocks check on)
and i saw that it ran from mkfs the badblocks program on that partition.

no, last boot was more than a week ago and it did not do a fsck, but the
one before was due to a system crash and it ran fsck flawlessly and FAST.

well, for summery, i'm now 24 hour past the first call to excel(???)net
and did not hear anything from them. so the bottom lines are:
1. excel(?)net sucks!!!
2. don't buy WD disks (i heard that a year and a half ago and did not
belive)
3. buy scsi (expensive but lasts)
4. do BACKUPs or your dead.

cheers,
	Ohad.
