Re: cannot open line /dev/ttys0: input/output error

Are the IRQs configured properly? Does setserial manages to open the port? perhaps the mouse is on /dev/ttys0? Shouldn't it be /dev/ttyS0 (A Capital S and not a small one)? Does minicom manages to access the port? Doesn't mgetty have a verbose flag in order to accumulate much more debug info in its log files?

We used to connect to modem by typing mgetty on server.
Now we replaced the server to a new computer. We took the disk, modem, etc.
Since then the modem does not respond to incoming calls.
 We get the massage:
cannot open line /dev/ttys0: input/output error

Thank you for helping.
