Well, actually, I can't take any credit -- I did say bad things about
GNOME -- and I stand by them. I said that KDE (or more properly, QT, the
toolkit underlying KDE) presents some very hard problems for Free Software
developers. That's why KDE is not an option for me, no matter what its
technological achievements are -- I'm more interested in my freedom then
in some eye candy. I hope that GNOME presents a formidable alternative to
KDE (and I think so too), but for me, the two desktop options cannot be
fairly compared on mere technical grounds.
