Loopback responding to ARP requests
Hi,
leaving aside for a moment the question about why i might wish to do such a
thing, if i configure an interface alias for the loopback, and give it a real
IP address, my machine (RH6.1, 2.2.5-20smp kernel) starts responding to
ARP requests for that IP address. this is true even if i configure the
loopback interface(s) to NOARP, as seen below.
does anyone have any idea how i might stop this machine from ARPing on this
address?
