Re: printer consumer report (and ISP consumer report - thanks)

It seems that there is no end to RTFM-ing and there is no limit to the
number of ways a distro can be incomplete. I asked my question about
printers after both searching the net and going through the docs on 2
RH6.* systems (6.0 and 6.2). I found nothing really useful, as
Printing-HOWTO and Printing-Usage-HOWTO didn't discuss specific
printer models.

Well, more search revealed that there is Printing-HOWTO-4 in a number
of places, such as

http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Printing-HOWTO-4.html
http://www.linux.org/help/ldp/howto/Printing-HOWTO-4.html
http://www.linux.com/howto/Printing-HOWTO-4.html

and it points to a database of supported printers at

http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/pht/printer_list.cgi

which is very close to what I was looking for.

Now I am wondering what criteria Red Hat uses to decide which HOWTOs
should be included in the distribution, and which should not.
