there was a poll, the results are the winning 50% want to stay, then
stay they will. I have stopped trying. the iglu@egroups list is not
replacing anything, it's not dying either, it will live if people post
to it.
As sugested in the past years and again in the past few weeks, it will
be a much friendlier list, one that doesn't bark at newbies but instead
answers inteligent questions. I am all for bringing more power users
into the linux comunity, but I decided they need to want to. users that
want to have their food chewed for them probably have nothing to look
for in Linux for now, and when linux' GUI becomes simple enough for
them, there will be techsupport companies to do that job.
so all the lurkers who are afraid to post here lest they be flamed,
ridiculed or beat up, I encourage you to join us at
http://www.egroups.com/group/iglu
no rules yet, we will allow the list to shape itself through the people
who join in, hopefully a fresh start will mean a change of air and
attitude.
linux-il@huji will stay the same - a place for the medium-to-highly
professional old-schoolers that don't want to bother with tech support
for fresh installers. I intend to keep being a proud member of both, I
don't think there should be a conflict with that and I hope there never
will.

whatever. the list's Emails were already harvested from plasma in the
past and possibly also from sendmail itself before cs.huji closed "EXPN"
and later moved to Exim. I know Egroups are doing very well, and have
absolutly no intention of closing up or selling your address.
