I tried upgrading to VIM from Mandrake 7.1 but I guess my inexperience using
RPM is causing me a problem. After downloading, I tried running RPM to upgrade
and got an error message saying that components from the existing version were
causing a conflict. I tried uninstalling (using RPM again) the Mandrake 7.0
version and got a message saying that the package is not installed. What am I
doing wrong.

Also, in general, it seems to me that since my e-mail client (XFMail) does
support the Hebrew font (as I said, I can see Hebrew messages that I receive),
there should be a simple key combination (like ALT-Shift on WIN98) to enter the
Hebrew characters, but I can't figure out how to do it, and couldn't find any
mention of this in the various links you sent.
