raid-1 on linux.

Hi,
Im trying to seup Raid-1 on linux Mandrake but for some reason its not
working.
I added to /etc/raidtab the following lines:
raid-level 1
nr-raid-disks 2
nr-spare-disks 0
chunk-size 4
persistent-superblock 1
device /dev/hda
raid-disk 0
device /dev/hdd
raid-disk 1

after that i run the command:
mkraid /dev/md0

and i get the following output:
handling MD device /dev/md0
analyzing super block
disk 0: /dev/hda
/dev/hda is mounted
mkraid: aborted, sys the syslog

when I try to restart the computer I get the following:
starting up raid devices: /dev/md0: invalid argument
/dev/md0 is not RAID 0 or LINEAR array!
dropping to shell; system will reboot

anyone have any idea how i can solve this problem so the system will work
with raid 1 ?
