2 printer questions.
Hi,
I have two completely unrelated printer questions.
1 - I've been using my Epson Stylus II with no problems, but the time has come
for a new printer. I'm thinking of the Epson Stylus 670, but it's a very new
model and I can't find any info about compatability. I know it's **not** a
WIN-printer since it also works on a Macintosh. And having both Parallel and
USB on the same printer looks good to me since this will give alot of
flexibility (especially when LINUX eventually gets good USB support). I know
other Epson models (for instance 600) work in LINUX and the specs on this
model are very similar (including ESC/2 emulation). Can anyone help ??
2 - This is not really related, but I'm curious. If I have a WIN-printer on a
WIN98 networked machine, can I use the printer from a LINUX box on the
network ?? I know that LINUX can't use a WIN-printer, but this is not really
the same (or is it ??) since I would want to send a print job from the LINUX
box to the WIN98 box (not directly to the printer) and let WIN98 handle the
printing. Is this possible or am I way off track ?? BTW - the same question
could apply to a WIN-modem on the WIN98 machine. Could the online connection
be shared by the LINUX box even though LINUX can't use the WIN-modem directly
??
