(1) Can you ping IP numbers outside your ISP domain? Try ping -c 10 152.19.254.81 (152.19.254.81 = www.metalab.unc.edu) (2) Have you set your /etc/resolv.conf properly? [21:10:04 /tmp]$ cat /etc/resolv.conf domain yourisp.net.il nameserver 1st-dns-ip nameserver 2nd-dns-ip [21:10:56 /tmp]$ (3) The PPP-HOWTO might be of more help then myself.

hello all !I am new to linux ' i installed corel linux on my second h.d. and got 56k isa modemconfigured to com 2 . after a lot of work i got kppp to work and i can get the modem to dial out and i can ping the dns server named at the kppp modem window. but when i start up netscape or even kfm i can't surf because i get a message that it can't reach the url and that the ns socks are'nt set correctly.so my modem works but ican't surf with linuxcan any one suggest how to fix this problem ???my e-mail is : yoniyo@hotmail.comthanks
