State of the Gnome

for those of you not frequenting Slashdot:
http://www.gnome.org/mailing-lists/archives/gnome-list/2000-January/0487.shtml

RTL not mentioned, but another interesting point jumps out: the Gnumeric
project tries to be an Excell-compatible as possible, and has thus
spawned a GNOME Basic project, basicly to do a clean implementation of
Visual Basic.

do you see a pattern here? with enough monke^H^H^H^H^Hprogrammers
hammering at the KB all over the world, we have a promissing foundation
to beat Microsoft at their own game afterall... now if only Lyx,
Abisource, Wordperfect, KOffice, StarOffice and Applix programmers would
bloody cooperate. grrrr.

I did this 'cause Linux gives me a woody. It doesn't generate revenue.
