overquoting

I'm sorry I'm putting a nagging self-appoinetd moderator hat here, but
I'd like to ask you all to please do a little more to make this list a
bit more RFC 1855 compliant, like removing overquotes, and dropping the
me-too threads when replying. some of the oldest posters on the list
here know well that on many usenet groups it's an almost unfogivable
sin, and on alternative mail networks like fidonet it leads to blocking
your posts altogether. Also, the list is crowded enough, some of us
choose not to skim through subject headers (knowing they often don't
reflect the content) so readable messages with only relevant quotes
really help to read (I know they really help me give better answers when
I edit my reply too)

yours,
Ira (featuring his regular non-random sig for the occasion)
