I'm sorry to say I consider myself as a small part of the reason -- but
perhaps represntative. I thought about contributing to harmony, and
decided that since it's supposed to be a compatible API, I'll read the Qt
docs. When I found out they're using templates, I ran as far away as I
can. Note that even the few Free Software projects which use C++ (Mozilla,
wxWindows), use a very conservative subset.

What are those? I don't run KDE for moral and technical (hate templates)
reasons. But I never knew of any *practical* ones.

Though KDE is depending on Qt in a deep way. For example, the reason why
KDE did not support Xdnd until KDE 2.x was "Qt doesn't support it".

Isn't Mandrake supporting KDE? Or have I got my facts wrong again?
