whenever you/we are fed up. nobody is forced to stay. I sort of plan on
Lerner's talk plus Q&A to take till noon, (we may start as early as
9:30, or as late as 10am) and then move on to talking about the show
after a short break. like I said we'll have Alex Landsberg and some
marketoids from Compaq, Jacky Romano from SGI, hopefully someone from
Linuxnet, possibly someone from People and Computers, and who
knows... it may be short, but most likely take at least 2 hours, because
we may have a lot to discuss. We ARE, afterall, organizing a booth for a
trade show, and it's a lot of details.
I'd like to remind you (yes, I'm nagging, last time!) to RSVP at
linux-rsvp@ira.scso.com if you haven't yet. I only had 20-21 replies,
and it's a little weird after 30 replied and 40 came last time, and this
time we have a very interesting and maybe more practical lecture.
btw, if the lecture subjects we arrange are too low or high aimed, we'd
love to know, come discuss it on the iglu list on Egroups and give us
feedback! we want to know how to make these meetings more interesting,
and soon there will definitely be a need to a seconf lecture circuit for
the less savvy of our group too.
also another small announcement: if your employer or a company you know
is willing to "step out of the closet", we want to have a collection of
case studies, in Hebrew, on our site, of how Linux can be used in
business. a few lines about what the company does, how linux is used,
why it was chosen and so on. the more impressive members we now have are
solel-boneh, Berger Financial Reseach (BFR), an architect firm, a
bio-research firm (Marc, can you send the details?), and
more. contributions will be gladly accepted.
sadly, Marc said he wouldn't be able to come for family reasons. I hope
he'll come for at least the second part of the meeting... if that is not
reason enough to come, I don't know what is :-)
see you all there, Ira.
