Also, you may get the code from copyright owner(s) with other license than
GPL, if they'd like too. And also, if you make add-on to something GPL-ed,
but which is separate work (external module, driver, frontend, etc.) and
make it different product, seems you are not obliged to provide source

I'm not Stallman-hater (why should I hate the guy?), but they do exist, in
the meaning that if you incorporate GPL-ed code in your application, it
will be further at least GPL. I.e., if you make product with free code,
and it includes GPL'ed code, noone can take it and close the source, as
long as GPL is there inside.

This is always true. One should remember that all free advice he can get
here from the list is worth in court exactly as much as he paid for it :).
