two options:

1. ISDN controller driver bug(s) causing it to hang the system.
2. hardware problem causing the system to lock up (could be due to a
   mulfunctioning ISDN contrller, for example).

thus, try:

1. look for newer driver/kernel to use.
2. start to gradually replace the hardware - begin with the ISDN
   controller.

remember that this could be a mulfunction of some other part of your
system, and that it beginning since the installation of the ISDN
controller might be a mere conincidence (or not - for example, when
installing the internal ISDN card, one could accidentally touch other
hardware parts and ruine them).
