SCSI HD probelm.
Hi
i have a stange problem with a scsi HD.
if i do modporbe for the module, it doesn't load and give me the shell back.
it just hangs.
if i open another shell, and i do lsmod, i see the module is 'uninitialized'
which is a very weird status for a module. in the first time this happaned i
look at the log, and saw the the module finds the two HDs and then goes into
a loop of resets, and timeouts - and i would reboot. one time, my computer
crashed (no need to guess what OS i use at home) and i didn't feel like
reconnecting and rebooting the server because it was late and all, so i went
to bed. in the morning i looked again on lsmod, and what do it see: the
module is there, 'unused'.
i happaly mounted both HDs, and all worked great.
now, we want to move the server, but since last time it had the module on
conf.modules and the mounts on fstab, the server wouldn't go up(!) i need a
solution before we can move it to a large ISP, where it will have all the
bandwidth it need.
this, is after we changed once the SCSI controller because we thought it was
causing the probelm.
if anyone here has some other advice (not to check the terminators, thanks
all :)
we need it, before we go and replace the good (working under _Other_ OSs)
SCSI HDs.
thanks
Ereli
