Python at the IGLU meeting - Friday June 2nd
for our next lecture, I'm trying to get us a room in the nicely
reachable Herzlia-pituach building of SGI. although they are more
reachable (busses, train) their board room will only fit about 20, so
PLEASE RSVP ASAP at linux-rsvp@ira.scso.com

For the next lecture, Moshe Zadka, a math magician and a core Python
developper, will give a talk about Python, with it's practical uses in
system administration as a scripting language.
Moshez' BLURB:
Python is a high level, interpreted language. It has a highly dynamic
object model and module system, which lead to compact and readable
programs. Python's standard library contains many useful features for
writing short throw away scripts for UNIX: parsing all kinds of text
files, connecting to many different servers across the internet. I will
introduce Python, and give some tips about how to use Python
capabilities to script your UNIX system.
-----------------------------------------
in summery, we really want to know, and SOON, how many of you are
planning to come, so we know if SGI's room is enough, or if we should
arrange for something bigger.
the lecture is not totally linux-centric, it's more python-and-Unix
oriented, so invite all your sysadmin friends who are not on this list,
and who knows, they may discover they were missing something valuable in
all those years of scripting in shell and perl :-)
Thanks in advance,
Ira Abramov.
