mutt.org :-)
pine comes with all Red Hat and derivatives (see Mandrake, it's the
best)
I tried using mutt once and got a bit confused by its config, it's not
for getting started in 15 minutes like pine, and the default behavior is
too elm-ish to my taste. I'll probably move to it one day if I have the
time to learn how to customize it. it's definitly the more configurble
package of the two.
as for random sigs like mine, the new pines let you pipe the output of a
program instead of reading a file, so I have a tiny shell script that
prints a line then runs fortune with linux fortunes requested, et
voila...
