Are you sure you need drivers ? if it's not a winmodem then you probably need no
drivers.
on the system with it installed, try minicom. just run minicom, and within it,
try to talk to /dev/cau0...3 (COM ports 1->4). when you get some OK message try
ATI1 ATI2... etc' you should very easily see that you actually speak with you r
modem. You've now found the com port.
Now I suggest using Kppp (KDE application) to make a dial-up connection to the
net. (or wvdial text dialer).
BTW, Davicom chipset ? is this a Dynamode modem ? if so, and its verified *not*
a winmodem (jumperless/ISApnp), then you should be able to operate it with no
problem under linux. (one way iis to use the instructions above).
If you have more Q, you can ask me, as I have a Dynamode 33.6 modem at home...
(with a Davicom chipset).
