Yes i know this page.
i already been there.
The problem is that i still don't understand the "concept" of ppp and modem
on linux.
as i understand i need to load the slhc, ppp and bsd_comp.
After that if i write pppd and see something like @#%^^{}#$}{#@% or whatever
on the screen then the ppp daemon is working ... right ?
Now i need to use some sort of dialer program.
i have chat scripts and dip scripts.
let's say i want to use dip.
when i do dip -vt and write port modem (which is link to /dev/ttyS1) it says
that the pppd is using this device.
if i start dip without starting pppd before then it accepts the port modem
command.
Now, i think that maybe Linux does not recognize the I/O or IRQ (or
whatever) of the modem. because when i use wvdialconf it does not find it.
Any idea ?
