| Hi,
|
| So .. if you had to chose a decoder you'll chose the
| Matrox G400 instead of the Creative DXr3 ?
|
| By the way I only foundLinux compatibility in Matrox
| G450 (Millennium Matrox G450 chip set, 32 MB DDRam).
|
| Why do I need such a strong computer. My DVD player is
| going to be dedicated to playing DVDs and MP3s and as
| for now I planed on an AMD K6-II 500 with a lot of RAM
| (256 Mb). If I'm planning on the Matrox G450, am I
| going to have a problem ?
|
| Isn't the whole idea of a strong video card to get the
| load off the processor ?
|
| As for playing AC-3 sound, if I understand what you
| wrote, there is no support for any such card under
| Linux yet. Is there any card which will give me a
| dissent sound and that has a AC-3 sound in it's future
| ?
|
| Would you select the SB Live 5.1 as your sound card ?
|
|
| Thanks
