Why do you need the development kernel to run Linux on AMD?
Do you need any special drivers/modules to use ATA66 hard drive, for
example?

Speaking of Athlon and motherboards. I am looking for such a board
that supports 133MHz bus, and most importantly that supports ATA66
(I intend to hook an IBM hard drive to that). I heard that VIA have a
chipset called Apollo KX133. Does anyone know where in Israel I can
purchase such a motherboard? And, if so, will Linux stable kernel
work with this hardware, or do I need some features that are still in the
development kernel?

Thanks in advance,
Yosi
