Hi guys,
I hope no muti threads this time because some link didn't work and its the end
of the world. :)
anyway, here is something i am sure some knows, but for others who want to casually be updated...

My 2 cents: I think that it is very relaxing that the 2.4 kernel is finnaly
gonna be stable in the near future without so much tinkering in core stuff.
Also, it is better for the linux community for the cold war to be over and for
Linus to get back to vision and development instead for maintaining which i 
guess (my impression) was somewhat annoying and borring to him which was felt on the development scene.
On a grander scale, it is another step in the front lines for the linux in trying to advance into the ranks of microsoft and sun. One of many which recently starts to pile up by IBM and many companies who sees linux as the future, rather than the past. this is again reafirmed by drop of sales of hardware and computers recently(beside the september 11 quirks), which proves people wants a workhorse rather than a toy that needs upgrading every year.
