I did not try ARCserve (BTW, it's CA).
I don't work in server/client configuration. I export all FS needing
backup and mount them on the backup machine. I needed the commercial
license for doing NFS backup.

I just went to their site - http://www.estinc.com/ , they are still
selling, so you can contact them directly and check (the site was
update on 13/6/01, a month after their supposed death).
