Please RTFAQ
http://www.iglu.org.il/faq/cache/9.html (about three links away from
http://linux.org.il/) .
(Note that as per the previous message, you should use
http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/tz/israel/linux )
BTW: if anybody here is using latest glibc or betas of redhat/mandrake,
could you please verify that the timezone there is accurate?
$ zdump -v /etc/localtime |grep 2001
/etc/localtime Sun Apr 8 22:59:59 2001 UTC = Mon Apr 9 00:59:59 2001 IST isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
/etc/localtime Sun Apr 8 23:00:00 2001 UTC = Mon Apr 9 02:00:00 2001 IDT isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
/etc/localtime Sun Sep 23 21:59:59 2001 UTC = Mon Sep 24 00:59:59 2001 IDT isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
/etc/localtime Sun Sep 23 22:00:00 2001 UTC = Mon Sep 24 00:00:00 2001 IST isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
(which is OK)
But in another computer with Mandrake 7.2 with Mandrake's glibc update:
$ rpm -qf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem
glibc-2.1.3-18.3mdk
$ rpm -Vf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem
[ no mention of /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem ]
$ zdump -v /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem|grep 2001
/usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem Thu Apr 5 23:59:59 2001 UTC = Fri Apr 6 01:59:59 2001 IST isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
/usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem Fri Apr 6 00:00:00 2001 UTC = Fri Apr 6 03:00:00 2001 IDT isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
/usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem Tue Oct 9 22:59:59 2001 UTC = Wed Oct 10 01:59:59 2001 IDT isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
/usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem Tue Oct 9 23:00:00 2001 UTC = Wed Oct 10 01:00:00 2001 IST isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
(The wrong dates)
P.S.: If you want to post a message to the list, please don't simply
reply to aa message. You should copy the address (because that way you
don't leave references). But if you decide to reply to a message, don't
quote it's content, and don't reply to all the other recepeints. There is
also no need to preserve the original subject (no even in the way I
preserved it)
