I have no idea why there would be any need at all to do this at the
alcatel level.
A few people asked me about putting the internal (NATed) LAN on the same
hub as the ADSL, basicly have a single-NIC gateway/firewall with a
virtual interface (like "eth0:adsl"). Alcatel has a long history of
security holes and more sadly a lack of care to fix them. this is even
more dangerous when you connect to internet by the TV cables one day. I
say go to the nearest shop (or my favorite is skak.co.il because they
are within walking distance from me :-) and get a 65 shekel 10/100 card.
it's dirt cheap. I just added a third NIC to my machine, and all the
clients get 100 full duplex and we threw out the clunky 10BaseT/HD hub.
