Costly? seen this?
https://www.vmware.com/request_processor?nextPage=/vmwarestore/newstore/category.jsp&action=CATALOG.GETGROUP&application=store&ProductGroupCode=EXPR-LX&WebLogicSession=O025m5Iskh4rjc51MF3bQvL2rGKCMsxsqahE92tj8lVCSf53pN2m

This is only $79. It doesn't gives you the whole features of full VMWare
workstation, but it's more then enough for running Office under Windows..

Wine doesn't even support displaying hebrew correctly, much less supporting
the bidi.dll stuff.

Win4lin - good product. Works only on English versions of Windows
95/98/98SE/ME only.

Plex86 is very young project in development - its got miles to go until
you'll beginning to get something which reminds one of his competitors..

Speaking of emulation scene - I've just been informed by someone that
Connectix are going to release Virtual PC for Linux (they released Virtual PC
for windows) - you can see and test the windows version at www.connectix.com
