I use kernel 2.4.2ac13 with Redhat 7
I suggest for you to upgrade your GCC compiler first - to at least
GCC-2.96-74. You can get it at:
http://www.redhat.com/support/errata/RHBA-2000-132.html
After upgrading the GCC - grab kernel 2.4.2 and compile it.
