What encoding of that font are you using?

If you use an iso18859-1 font, all the hebrew characters cannot be
displayed, because they are not part of this character set. Make sure you
use an iso8859-8 font or (better) an iso10646-1 font and avoid this whole
mess of choosing encoding.
