I don't know why it happens, but people don't distinguish between SMTP to
POP3. Sendmail is SMTP . it's used for sending and receiving mail to and
from the _MAIL SERVER_.
Remote users can TAKE their mail remotely using pop3, which is a
completely different thing. That's indeed the port 110. you need a special
daemon for pop3, look for something in freshmeat. I use gnupop3d, which is
simple as hell but I'm afraid it's not too good, it doesn't even have a
configuration file..
