Most ISA modems are still real, I guess there must be WinISA, but I
never seen one.
If you have a motherboard with ISA then you can pay a bit more and get
a modem, but what do you do with the newer Mobos that come without ISA
and only a darn CNR
instead.
I am sure one day Intel will put out a driver for it's AC97/CNR/Lucent
Modems, but till
then...

My Algorithm so far:
1. Have ISA-> get real ISA modem.
2. You need it fast -> Get an external USR USB or serial, I a serial
will be playing it safe.
3. If you have the money, time and you just can't stand external modems:
A. You can call Bynet and order the Multtech modem, it is VERY expensive
and they need 3 weeks to import it.
B. You can ask your friendly IBM dealer to order the IBM Modem ( same
chip set as the Multitech)
for less money, but it is still imported, If you are lucky and it's in
Stock in Ireland you will get it in 3 weeks.

I recently installed an ISA and ordered an IBM modem: If and when I get
it I will let you know.
