i'd say - avoid running a cvs server in the first place. instead, run cvs
as a normal (client) program, working directly with the file system. then,
use csv from a remote location using ssh (setenv CVS_RSH ssh) - and avoid
the security problems that the first method will present (e.g. opening yet
another port on your machine to the world, for the 'pserver' cvs process).
