I can tell you what not to buy: HP USB.
If it's IDE or SCSI ( internal or external), it's probably
Linux friendly.
With IDE you might need a bit of a kernel recompile for
SCSI-IDE.
I use HP IDE.
I have more problem with burning on the "supported" OS,
then with burning on Linux.
