You're welcome ;)

I belive it will be 30 days. I still cannot "play" with Mandrake 8 under
VMWare cause their AMD driver causes VMWare to panic after I installed
VMWare..

They also choose to get with the RH GCC 2.96 - which is problematic. With
Redhat 7.1 out the door any minute now - you'll need to upgrade to the latest
GCC from RawHide if you're going to compile some inline Assembler or using
some STL things (GCC 2.96-80 fixed that in almost everything - I just
submitted to them 2 more bugs).

What about Mandrake 8 and GCC 2.96? good question. Hope they'll update pretty
soon to match Redhat's GCC. btw - I just played online with Compaq's Alphas
(you can ask for a free account there - www.testdrive.compaq.com - they got
few Alpha's and some distributions on them) - and the speed differeneces
between GCC 2.95.2 and GCC 2.96 - something like %30 speed increase on those
binaries. It's still not like CCC

No, I wasn't in the lecture. I'm doing some studying here, I was busy. Sorry.

Mandrake will be always easier to use then Redhat. Redhat are not interesting
in those ease of use so much. They want the corporates, Mandrake wants the
end user - and they both don't compete.

KDE 2.2 beta 1 will be out soon with some nifty stuff, specially with their
new back-end support for databases support for MySQL, Postgre-SQL, Informix -
and coming soon - Oracle and IBM's DB/2. You'll also have koffice which was
mostly re-written with QT-3 features (but not Bi-Di - that was a bit too much
to backport from QT 3).

On the GNOME side, you got GNOME 1.4 stable now, with Nautilus and Mozilla
0.8.1, and Bonobo 1.0 out the door..

Happy times in the Linux arena, indeed ;)
