This is true, but when someone asks me for a Redhat 7 CD to install, I
hate giving them the original CDs and then quickly adding "after you install,
make sure to connect to the Internet, and download the roughly 100 MB of
updates and install them - this will only take you 24 hours of connect
time..."... I prefer to also give them a CD with all these updates, so they
can update immediately. Of course, this is only useful if this updates iso
is fresh and new - don't keep one lying around for a couple of months and
then let people use it ;)
It's actually possible to insert this updates into the original ISO (redhat
has a HOWTO on how to do that), but it's quite complicated so I don't do
that.
BTW, which "autoupgrade" program do you recommend using? I use my own script
to download every new update from Redhat, and run all the "rpm --checksig",
"rpm -Fvh", etc., myself. Is there a better way? I know there must be, but
I never bothered find out.
