OK. Now is this library a must, what does it have, can I live without it and
still configure? if so how do I change it so kdevelop won't request it...
to those of you who asked. I'm using RedHat distribution 7.1, with KDE 2.2
and kdevelop 2. When I installed the distribution there was no kde on it, I
got the new kde and did an install manually.

libz is zlib. Make sure you have the zlib-devel package (at least this is
the name on Mandrake 7.2) installed, or grab the sources from [results of
freshmeat search for zlib] and install it.
