I'm using kernel 2.4.2-2. I also wnt through many other disscussion groups
and I've seen that I'm not alone with this problem bu no one came up with a
solution.

Hi,
Which kernel are you using? As I know 2.4.3 kernel has lots of problems
with some chipsets like VIA and athelon CPUs. And this may cause this
problems. Maybe move to 2.4.2 kernel? (As I know 2.4.2 should work with
this chipsets and CPUs)
