Hi!
SO 5.2 requires the genuine Sun JRE 1.1.8., v1. I don't know about RH, but the
SuSE 7.1 distro I use, automatically installs it in /opt together with SO 5.2.
It does NOT change your java symlink, if or example, like me, you have your SDK
sitting in (something like) /usr/lib/java1.3.0_02. (Why it's installed in
/usr/lib instead of in /opt is a SuSE mystery.)
You cannot use for example, JRE 1.3 evem faking through a symlink. This
requirement by Sun has been blasted of their own lists - but ze ma she-yesh.
