oh, but I've written it in Perl - what's not integrated ?

well, seriously - have you tried setting up qmail's qpoper for pop3 access
to maildirs, and allowing remote smtp connections ? it invloves exactly
that - setting up inetd correctly with a few scripts, editing hosts.allow,
etc. the downside of the easy integrateability (is that a word ?) of Qmail
with everything, is that you have to at least edit some scripts when you
want to do anything other then what you get when you run 'make config; make
setup check'. what I suggested involves just two more very simple scripts,
and a four word change to the inetd configuration.
I think sysadmining is all about scripting ;-)
