what do you care about "fasion"? they are still a very good option to
discuss very specific issues with people. why else would dejanews be such
a great service, if it wasn't for the wealth of info available in these
news groups?
i know that whenever i need to solve a technical problem, i go to dejanews
and search there for answers. and it hardly ever fails. in fact, a large
number of the questions that peopel ask here (linux-il) could have been
avoided, if these people bothered searching dejanews, instead of being
lazy and wasting bandwidth by asking these questins over and over again
here.
btw, dejanews was bought by google lately, so its URL now ges you to
groups.google.com, and the search interface changed (again).
