Beta Testers are Required

Hi friends,

I want to share you with the following message from MainWin.

Yes, it deals with a commercial product, and yes, it is connected to
Microsoft, but it is an Israeli start-up that we all want to succeed,
and the purpose of their product is to allow easy conversion from
Windows to Linux, a positive thing for everybody on this list.

So read it, ensure that you meet the requirements and that it is
interesting you, and respond to Ohad Eilon of MainWin
ohade@mainsoft.com) (NOT TO ME!):
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Visual MainWin is a new, commercial product that takes Visual C++
applications and builds them on Linux. The results are Native Linux
applications that run directly on the Linux system. This is not an emulation
or a VMWARE like solution.

We will be ready with a Beta version by the end of January (within about 10
days).

I am putting together a beta program these days. I did not want to publish
this in a large scale because we would not be able to cop with hundreds of
Beta testers. Rather, I thought it would be better to approach Israeli
developers who are active in the Linux arena and may want to take this
opportunity and give Visual MainWin a test drive.

It would be great if you could forward this message to the group.

The system requirements for testing VMW are:

1. A Linux machine - RedHat 6.2 (other releases are not currently supported)

2. A Windows machine with:
        a) OS:
Windows NT 4 with Service Pack 5 or later
                or -
                Windows 2000
        b) Software:
                * Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 with Service Pack 3 or later
                * Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later recommended
3. Network connection is required between the Windows and the Linux
machines.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, respond to Ohad and not to me!
