Re: major problem please help !!!!

I'm surprised that after Win installation it still tries to use Linux boot
installation.
You might try booting to dos, either with a dos diskettes, or Win rescue disk
and then run

    fdisk /mbr

If you have no dos diskette or Win rescue diskette you might try asking a
friend to make you one. It could be that you'll have to enter your bios prior
to this and have it change it boot sequence. This is so because your bios
could be set up to use the HD boot section before looking for a floppy boot
section. You can tell if this is the case simply by not having to boot the dos
or Win rescue diskettes although you put these in the drive.
Now you should try to reinstall Win.

BTW: Linux (lilo, actually) keeps a copy of your old boot section for situation like yours. Still, you have already deleted your partitions (and I never bothered to read how one can use this restoration feature).

p.s: If you still interested in installing Linux you can ask for help on gnubies-il@yahoogroups.com. Take a look at http://www.iglu.org.il/mailing-lists/gnubies-il.html for more details about that list.

hi
my name is Fred and i have a very big problem. i tried to install linux mandrake 7.2 according to guide and it went bad...
my friend installed it and it went great, thank you for the other stuff you give in your site.
i've decided to delete linux but apperantly it's not that simple, at first i tried to go back to the insallation section that deals with partitioning and tried to return my hdd to fat32 but still when i booted my computer it gave me the linux boot and the computer forze when it started to load linux (probably only the boot section left). than i tried to fix it with the fdisk, i got there and told hime to delete all the dos and nondos partitions, i've devided my hdd into 2 parts (total 30 gb) and formated the two partitions, everything went well and i thought things will be good, when after booting my computer i saw that again it gives me the linux boot screen and the computer freezes again. final thing i tried to install windows 98, i've read in the intallation the once windows is installed linux boot will be deleted, but again i was wrong and my computer is booting again under linux
please help to solve my problem, i bought this computer only two weeks ago (p4  - 1.4 ghz) and i don't want to find out that some parts have to be bought again.
please help me to delete linux totaly from my computer
thank you
fred klitsuk
