Linux will be popular when people will have fun of using it !
Now popular is a relative word.
Hackers and internet sysadmins get lots of fun of setting and tunning liunx
server/desktop and that make it extremly popular for them ( us :) )
As long there is no good office, video aplication .... many Comercial users
will not see Linux as popular.
And if companies will not port there games to linux too many people will not
even have a chance of expirementing the OS.
So fun it is the motive for using Linux.
