all is nice and dandy, BUT... there's the question of the cost of a
VMWare license (I have a serious intention of using my student card to
get me a license, since my rarely-used windows machine is about to
croak, and it's cheaper than a new Mobo, CPU and Power), and the things
that WON'T work well in VMWare (sound and multimedia for starters) and
you'd better have 256Meg of RAM at the very least (but RAM is dirt cheap
these days)

actually, plain booting win2k under VMware is much faster than native,
since the BIOS runs faster :)
