There is RealServer (and RealEncoder) for Linux. Closed-source
non-free, I assume. For playback, users will need RealPlayer.

Also, although this is TCP (HTTP protocol):
ffmpeg and ffserver. Excellent compressor for MPEG-1, MPEG-4 (aka
OpenDivX) and MSMPEG-4 (aka DivX). Promises to be supported by MS
Media Player, though I never tried.
