if you can't, you might want to check if ecn is enabled on the linux
router. some (misconfigured) firewalls block ecn.
check /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_ecn. if it exists, try echo "0" > tcp_ecn.
btw, the --quirks patch has been accpeted to cvs pptp last night...
