Well, don't know about wireless barcode readers, but most of the barcode
readers i saw used something like keyboard emulation. they didn't connet to
a serial port or something like that, just to a pass-through cable, so you
can use a normal (or POS) keyboard, and the barcode together.
When the barcode readers something, it turns on the screen like you typed
it, very convenient to the programmer. the same trick is used to credit card
readers i've seen.
This solution i guess, work great with linux, but you should really check
the details with your supplier.
