They used to say "New Technology" once upon a time. It has been forgotten
many years ago :-) Windows 2000 is "based on NT technology", which is
redundant somehow, so to say :-)

That's exactly how KDE was formed. K = L ( Linux ) - 1. That's according to
KDE team own explanation.
