Lilo question
Hi list.
I just finished installing a new linux system (RH7.1 based).
the system was installed on a new HD which is currently configured as a
secondary slave on a PIII machine with SE440BX-2 motherboard.
I'm having a few problems here:
1. A bit off topic but might be related, the PM HD is a 15GB disk with
Win2K which after startup with the second HD inside crashes with error
0x0000001e ...which is common for most serious mircojunk bugs.
2. After finishing the installation of the linux system it says it
cannot write the lilo to /dev/hda (the boot partition on the master
disk) and when i tried to write lilo to the linux HD i got the same thing:
Warning /dev/hdd is not on the first disk
Warning: BIOS drive 0x82 may not be accessible
Warning: BIOS drive 0x82 may not be accessible
Warning: BIOS drive 0x82 may not be accessible
Warning: BIOS drive 0x82 may not be accessible
Warning: BIOS drive 0x82 may not be accessible
Warning: BIOS drive 0x82 may not be accessible
Added linux *
Added WIN2K
When installing in the /dev/hda disk i get the same thing without the
first line of course.
of course lilo doesnt really work, it just types some kind of jibrish
and looks like it cycles the HD.
any ideas ?
Thanks.
