Ahh, I see. Donno any solution for this.

I really don't think you heard it right. I'm with the koffice for a long time
now and so far the only thing I heard was that aethera could be used inside
koffice - but it was canceled. People prefer kmail.

If it was a crime - then MS would be have been sued over million times. They
reversed engineered the Novell netware protocol for example. How else do u
think they managed back then to let you have full NDS with only 1 license of
Novell??

Also, if reverse engineering was illegal - then you would have seen that the
Samba people would have been sued by MS. And, as you can see - they are not
(they are actually updating MS on their wrong documentation).

a) koffice won't have (for the time being) an email solution - a-la
Evolution. Maybe in Koffice 2.0 - who knows..

b) MS Cannot change their protocol unless they want to commit suicide. You
cannot change protocol like they are doing with their office format - there
is no "import" plugin feature for outlook 97/2000/XP. They could change their
ptocol - but it would have to be backward compatible - just like the ICQ
protocol.

Exactly.
