just a quick note that this driver was recently (2.4.8, if i recall
correctly) replaced in the standard kernel. the old driver was
unmaintained but worked for some people. the new driver is maintained
and works for some people. you could try the 'ac' kernel trees, i think
they still have the old driver (but dont hold me to it, make sure
to check the changelogs!).
