Make sure you have the kdebase-crypto package (or whatever it's name is
on your distro). Also notice that recent (2.2beta1) release tries to
dynamically link against libssl.so, and you'd probably need to install
libssl-dev (or openssl-devel on RedHat) since regular OpenSSL comes
with libssl.so.0 but not libssl.so.

I guess the separation of the crypto is due to US policies.
