Hi Ira and other unemployed !
I am sure it isn't easy to find a job and the attacks on the US will not
make
the market go up in the near future so it seems unlikely that the job
market
will be better any time soon.
This probably also means that this is not the time for setting up new
companies.
On the other hand if you don't have a job anyway you have tons of time that
you
could use for learning and preparing for the next opportunity.
For example you (along with other unemploed linux profesionals) could start
to
build a site for comparing various open source projects. You don't need
much for this:
a domain name, a hosting account and a lot fo spare time that you have
anyway :)
Very soon you can have a site with lots of content that could be presented
to
either possible employers or to companies that would ask for linux support.
It could also be used to generate articles in the newspapers that will be
supportive for the Open Source movement.
If someone starts to write such comparsions I would provide a domain name
and
hosting so you don't really have expenses.
I belive such a site could help improving the situation of Open Source here
in Israel.
