There is none, of course. ASCII is the "*American* Standard Code for
Information Interchange", and as such only contains characters of interest
to Americans (it also doesn't have a Pound sign, Euro sign, Yen sign, or
anything similar).
If I remember correctly (but please correct me if I'm not), ISO-8859-8 (the
ISO standard 8-bit encoding for Hebrew) also doesn't have an NIS character.
Does the Windows Hebrew codepage have such a character? Does unicode? I don't
know the answers to these questions.
By the way, does anybody still use that NIS sign with the Shin and Chet
combined in a clever manner? I haven't seen it used anywhere (either in
print on in handwriting) for many years...
