Speaking of which, seen the XFree86 4.0.2 change log?
They've added Xutf8DrawString and Xutf8LookupString (!),
which should theoretically allow a program to print and
read keysyms as UTF-8. I wonder whether it's Xlib specific
or also requires the feature to be implemented in the
X server.
