The purpose is for security, as at M$ they like the "Security by Obscurity"
approach... ;-)

  Why is this designed-to-be-obscure (see haloween documents) M$ protocol is
so hard to reverse engineer? What's so hard in parsing appointment-
scheduling e-mails? Is it binary or plaintext? How, in general, does this
work?
