Re: PCI MODEM (Was HCF hardware/software mode)

I didn't participate in the original discussion about your modem, but now I bought
(maybe?) the same modem. Win2k says it's "HCF 56K PCI Modem". Well, lucky as it may be
your last email received exactly on the day i started to install this piece of hardware.
Well, motivated with your success I started to read some documents, and then I came
across the Modem-HOWTO.
I'm not yet finished reading it, nor started to try and install the modem, but I think
you might find this information helpful.
anyway, look at this howto
(http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Modem-HOWTO-2.html)
Pay special attention to the section "Software-based modem types". You'll also discover
that it's not a hardware modem.
Good luck!
