xfs , as in /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs
X Fonts Server
On redhats and mandrakes, X can't live long without xfs up, as all the
fonts are supplied by the fonts server.
(you get the strange error message "can't find font 'fixed'", and then X
gives up and crashes)
