no, it's too long to bug the list with, I'd attach it in private if someone
came and said "sure, I know how to read strace"

I could try. I'll just figure out the shell script wrappers' spaghetty and
see which binary is called at the end.

as the first post said. fakke and jikes are not an option, sadly.
NM, it's the end of the semester. by next year I'll either figure it out or
woody will stabilize.
also, I was sure Blackdown are Sun's official linux port, Tzafrir tells me
it might not be, I'll try that other download too and B"H it will work
better.
