Please don't judge the guy; He just wanted to do a favor, and I believe
that the following happened:
Once, years ago, he registered to NYT. Since then, thanks to the
COOKIES, he didn't have to re-register. After so many times that
clicks at NYT links have led him to articles without demanding any
password from him, he forgot that NYT even requires any password (or
maybe he even didn't notice that the links were of NYT). This happens
to me too, in other places (Globes, TheMarker, etc.).
Now, he saw a link at slashdot, clicked, saw the article (WITHOUT BEING
DEMANDED ANY PAAWORD!), and forwarded the link to the list.
