I know that you already discussed that, but I just cannot figure this out
myself. I have here a Linux console (SuSe) and wish to ssh into Solaris. What
should I do to allow reasonable cursor movement??
Could you fill in the gaps/mistakes in my sketch? where is stty in this mess?
A keyboad key with a left arrow
|
| Xkb?
|
X code of that key (keysym 0xff08, BackSpace)
|
| xterm, according to backarrowKey: true=^H false=^?
| and maybe alse TERM?
|
ASCII code of that key (^? or ^H)
|
| shell, vi, etc.
|
delete the previously entered key
An ancient HP Xterm produces ^H and works just fine with that Solaris. I would
like to emulate its behaviour with Linux.
Thanks,
Dan.
