I'm using kde 2.1 which was installed by RH7.1 distro on a PIII 450 computer
with 256MB RAM and I gave it a 500 MB swap partition.
When kde is started the total mem used is about 120-140 MB of my RAM.
after I open a few browser windows (konq or mozilla 0.9.3) the memory usage
is doubled....it gets up to 255 MB and even more from just 2 or 3 browser
windows.
after I close all browser windows the memory usage decreases only by 20-30 MB
and stays at around 210-220MB with no App open.
In the task list i can see that all browser tasks were indeed closed...
does anyone have any idea about this HUGE memory leak ?
most of the fun about linux until now was that i could always get more outta
it from a weaker computer then the same one with windoze on it....
currently its the other way around.
