Summary of the Posix IPC on RH

To those interested on this thread (which started on 24-10 after my
question
about the Posix services offered by the RH 7.2 kernel-- such
as shared memory and kernel managed queues):

I tried to fix the problem by upgrading to kernel 2.4.10 (offered by
SuSE 7.3 and also to glibc 2.2.4).
I also "synchronized" the #define's of .../linux/linux_fsinfo.h with
mm/shmem.c(an issue found on RH newsgroup).
Still, no success in using shm_get or mq_open related functions.
I am now positively sure that Posix style queues and shared memory
can not be used right now in Linux.

So, I'll "retreat" to System V or use ACE library (after I'll
learn about it) .

I want to thank the people who answered me on this issue
(specially Guy Keren which also raised the ACE lib. issue).

Thanks
Edy
