I am not a lawyer, blah, blah, blah,
but I think in Israel there's another very relevant law: the database law.

This law dictates (as far as I know - read the first line of my reply again)
that people or companies that create databases of people or people's details
much register with a special database registrar. When you send out a mailing
to addresses in such a database, you must write the database number on the
mailing, and provide a way to get yourself out of the database.
This database registrar should in theory prevent people from selling and
"forking off" databases (which makes spammers' "remove" links 100% ineffective,
even if they are honest), because the new fork will need registration again.
Again, as far as I know.

If that is indeed the case, can't a spammer be sued for breaking this law?
I doubt they really follow all the proper registration procedures...

By the way, this is my last reply to this thread. So all those people who
write me angry letters every time I write any reply about spam in this
mailing list, please chill out. (Original poster - your "OT" subject lines
just ignites these flames). Anybody want to open an Israeli anti-spam mailing
list discussing general anti-spam methods and Israeli spammers in
particular? (answer me in private).
