I remember using it on a VAX running Unix!
I guess Purify changed their platform focus since then :)

Anyway, according to http://www.rational.com/products/purify_unix/index.jsp,
purify is available also for HP and SGI (but no Linux). Their "Object Code
Insertion" instrumentation looks quite similar to what Atom does on the Alpha
CPU, so if you have a Alpha machine, you can just used "third degree" for
free, instead of buying Purify.
