RFC: QT 3.0 beta 6

Hi All,

As you may know, QT 3 got built in "smart" hebrew support (and other
languages as well as Russian, Arabic, japanese etc....) not only for viewing
(like it was on QT-2) but for typing.

Trolltech has released beta 6 of QT-3.0, which is the last beta before QT 3.0
will be frozen and considered "gold".

Now - in order to have a good hebrew support - we need some stress testing
for the hebrew and to report bugs of hebrew. If anyone here can also gives
some patches which fixes problems - that would be a bless...

the tarball is at :
ftp://ftp.trolltech.com/qt/source/qt-x11-free-3.0.0-beta6.tar.gz

If you don't have hebrew switching functionality yet - you can use this
command (if you got XFree 4.0.2 and above):

setxkbmap -variant basic -option grp:ctrl_shift_toggle il

This command will let you switch between hebrew and english with CTRL and
SHIFT pressed together...

Unlike windows, the hebrew on QT 3 is "smart" which means - if you type the
first letter in hebrew - then the text will be automatically aligned to the
right side. This "smart" behavior can tolarate numbers and dots too - but not
english words - once you start an english word and then you switch to hebrew
- the hebrew will be inserted as a "push" mode...

Please tell us your bug reports and if you can supply a patch - it's more
then welcome..

So please, help us out to help other Linux users in the near future (with the
use of QT apps and KDE 3)...

Thanks,
