ami, please _READ_ the letter matan sent you, and try to do what _he_
asked you to do, because its the _right thing_ to do. IRQ problems might
make programs look as if they work fine, while they work sub-optimally,
and that'll show up with more demanding programs (and pppd is more
demanding then minicom, in this respect). i'm keeping here the quote from
matan's letter, so you won't have to go far to look for it.

your report should contain the output of "cat /proc/interrupts" before you
start minicom, after you start it, after you dial, and after you
login to your ISP, and after you disconnect. that is, 5 'cat' commands,
with their full output.
