  I have used HP IDE CDRWs and they worked well out-of the box. If you're
looking for a really good CDRW, try Plextor or Yamaha. Ricoh et al are
considered lower quality.

  About CDRW+DVD, it's usually almost the same price as the two drives. It's
recommended if you don't have enough IDEs, and even in that case you should
consider SCSI.
