I have experience with BezeqInt.

The *real* problem when a real failure happens is "whose fault". Given you
believe eveything on your side is OK, it's a real disaster to find out whether
the culprit is the line itself (i.e. Bezeq) or hardware of your ISP. Each of
them start blaming you, of course (Linux as such, wrong configuration) and then,
the peer. I.e. BezeqInt says the problem is at Bezeq, and Bezeq says the problem
is at BezeqInt. Only some black magic can break this loop. On the other hand,
the same issue arises no matter what type of connection you use - same happens
with FR.
To the honour of BezeqInt I must add that they pressed not really hard WRT the
Linux issue (kind of official intro, "Of course you know, that we don't support
Linux"), but in general were rather kind and helpful (modulus the "Bezeq"
issue). After all, the problem was found to be indeed on their side, they gave a
temporary account for the time the problem being fixed, called me a few times
back as promised (an almost impossible thing in Israel) to verify everything is
OK etc.

Evgeny
PS. The modem is Alcatel (ethernet).
