Hello!
Wonder what is a demo or a demo scene? Read till the end...
Till now I have been a coder on the DOS/Windows scene, but now I'm trying to
move to Linux, and with that I'm searching for anyone in Israel who is already
interested in demos on the Linux platform. So if you are a demo scener, please
contact me...
In case there are no demo sceners here in the audience, I will try to explain
shortly what is it. The demo scene is a group of people around the world who
is interesting in creating so called "Demos" and their small brothers, the
"Intros". The Demo is real-time programmed graphical show, with music, and
usually will have different beautiful graphical effects, many of them in 3D.
Usually it looks like some MTV video clip. The goal of the demo is purely
artistical creativity. Each Demo is created by a group of people, usually
consisting of one or more coders(programmers), musicians and
graphicians(2D,3D,etc.).
I'm, as being a coder, more interested in programming graphics under linux.
So if you know some graphics programming under linux, and interested in trying
your luck in the demo scene, I would like to cooperate with you, in teaching
you stuff about the demo scene, and learning some linux programming.
Any other guy who is intrigued by the demo scene, is welcomed to contact me,
I will answer all I can, and maybe post some more info in here. And if he will
still be interested, I will like to cooperate and co-learn with him together.
