Aptitude looks nice. still suffering from a few dselect sicknesses, but
the keys make much more sense. it will fail a dependency on apt-get
install, so I had to roll one myself from source, but here goes:
notable features:
- su to root while running if trying to take a DB-locking action.
- recommended and sugested packages can be set to install automagicly or
not (each category in seperate) or selected individually.
- keybindings made better, and xterm supports mouse actions.
- see changelog (online from cgi.debian.org) before selecting to install
- remember installation queue between runs.
- usefull progress meter screen during download.
- MineSweeper while-you-wait-for-downloads with save and load! :-)
sadly it also features occasional (yet rare) crashes that obliterate its
queue memory abilities... but that's why it's beta :)
Love & Peace,
Ira.
