Re: Installing ppp Software is a nightmare!

Hi,

My experience with ppp was also positive - however required some work
and hints from a friend. I'm using the kernel 1.2.13 supplied in
Slackware 3.0. I use the USrobotics 28800 Sporster as well without any
problems. I 've added two initialization strings ATsomething according
to a script I had generated by OS/2, specifically for this modem.

I'd be able to mail you the script (pppd with chat), sometimes tonight
or later tomorrow.

Another thing you should do is read the documentation (supplied with
ppp) on using syslogd deamon - so you'd get all the conversation
'ON-line' at a console, or at /usr/adm/ppplog file. - This is a great
help in debugging the script/connection.
