report...
I am off to Ben Gurion to release the CDs from the customs...
just to start your day (I know, it is off topic... well, a little) here
is something I picked up in the morning on the FidoNet.
the place: the OS debate group.
I claimed I don't really considder DOS as an OS, and the thread rolls on
with Assaf Amit, and finally Eli Algranti:
AA> So I guess you'd better define what you consider to be an OS, too,
AA> because it seems you use a different terminology than the rest of us.
AA> DOS is a bad OS, I'll give you that, but it still qualifies as a
AA> bona-fide operating system.
DOS is not a bad OS.
DOS is an OS for microcomputers, not these minicomputers in small
packages we have today.
DOS is the OS which exposes the naked machine behind.
DOS is the kind of OS which when it crashes it does so for a reason.
DOS doesn't hide behind graphics.
DOS is the type of OS which is not afraid run only one program and
give it all the resources, memory and I/O accesses it wants.
DOS believes is programmers.
DOS is daring.
DOS is in touch with it's feminine side.
:-)
