ok then, I'll enhance my request: please inform any of your relatives,
coleages, friends and enemies that do NOT read this mailing list, that
they are welcome to send me their Linux usage reports so that I could
count them. If the person has no Internet account of his own, you may
report for him under his permition of course. The fax below is no paper
eater, it's my computer, so you can report through there too :-) it is
also a BBS, so you can call, leave a message, and maybe get the latest
version of the Kernel sources, DOSemu, Netscape for Linux etc.
I also sell Linux CDs, but that's another story.
reports can be sent by PRIVATE Email, to "Linux Count <ira@scso.com>" if
you can, so they will be automatically filtered to the right folder. try
not to report workplace workstations double (like two people from Motorolla
did today :-) but I think I'll handle it even if you do... I got 20
messges since only this morning, so keep them short, I don't need the
hardware descriptions or usage, even though they are probably all
interesting discussion thread for themselves :-) if you have such
stories, see the next paragraph.
and finally: for those who looked for us or didn't know about us: the
Linux-il mailing list is the best way to get digested news from the world,
and meet gurus that might turn out to be a neighbour (or a relative?!).
this is also the best place to catch up on the latest news about Hebrew
implementations in Linux, or just share problems and help others. Linux-il
is doing what it can to promote the usage of Linux in Israel as a
development, server or workstation platform. for two years in a row we
erected booths in Computax in GANEY HATA'ARUCHA in TelAviv, all for the
cause of spreading the word. we are not Legally tied to any commercial
body at the time, but since the cost of the booths have so far come mostly
out of our pockets, so we'll be glad if such a body would like to adopt us
under reasonable terms.
to subscribe: mail majordomo@cs.huji.ac.il with the text
subscribe linux-il
in the body. Linux-il's FAQ is almost finished, and will soon be
autoposted to you when you subscribe. Share and Enjoy :-))
