Re: Help on CD-ROM

Hi, sound like the CD-ROM I bought at computex, it works fine
for me with Slackware 3.0, 1.2.13 kernel.

Make sure you have a CD present ,while booting the machine in linux,
else it reports as tray_open error, or something like that.
And you'd have to mount it manualy.

You didn't say if while in boot, you see it searching for a CD.
-->> check if /etc/rc.d/cdrom script is being called by /etc/rc.d/rc.M

I have mine on same IDE as my hard drive, and configured it as SLAVE.

Good luck.

Hello everyone.
I can't make my CD_ROM works.
Seems like the kernel doesn't recognize it.
The cd-rom is an ide cd-rom by reveal.
The manufacture is goldstar.
The driver under M.S. DOS is GCD540.SYS.

Any suggestions.

Bye for now Asi.
