You can configure the Linux to answer the phone and invoke a login shell
that will give you either SLIP or PPP service. If you wanna have a PPP server
on the Linux just make an account that will run a silly little shell script as
the login shell in which you'd want to include the neccessary options such as
disabilng character echoing, and invoking the ppp connection.
If you wanna have SLIP server , run dip in server mode (as a login shell)
