Re: ACER CD & CIRRUS 5440
Hi,
ATAP-IDE CD-ROM's are in general supported by Linux kernels.
In particular, I use the ACER 8x IDE-CDROM.
It works fine, though I have encounter some problems, with programs for
playing musical-cd's, (xcd, xcdplayer) that don't behave right, like:
on 'stop' the'd open the tray and crash, or will not start a nother
music session after some oparation and more weired things.
I wonder if it is cause of a buggy programs, or because I'm using an
old kernel - 1.2.13 or even incompatibility broblems of the CDROM.
However for "fs" type operation - mount/cp ...etc, I don't have any
problems.
