Re: CD-ROM problem

Thanks to all who answered. The CD now works as it should.

Just a few remarks - mostly for MARC but anyone can read on.

The Q set solved my problem.

Actually, since this is my first try at installing LINUX, "eventually"
is not here yet. After I learn a bit more, I'll install on my machine,
rather than the children's old 386. For someone who never even saw a
LINUX screen before, I think I did OK for a first try - even if I did
make some mistakes.

I'm too much of a nasty S.O.B. myself to be insulted. And anyway, you
did answer my question. I've noticed (as a passive member of this list
for a few months, that you don't even bother answering the really
stupid questions). So I guess mine wasn't all that terrible.

See - you didn't answer this one - only mocked my incredible stupidity
at not knowing about the dmesg command.

See - it's love at first sight ????? Good night sweet prince.

BTW - I hope I haven't started another war like the one that was raging
here a couple of months ago.
