XKB in RedHat

Hello gentlemen,

A few days ago, I have installed the RedHat 3.0.3,
with kernel 2.0.10 and G-beta of XF86_Mach64 (I own 1Mb ATI Mach64 card and
old SVGA monitor).
Everything is working fine except X. When I am starting X, I get the X server
loaded with all initial applications, but my keyboard is not recognized (only "Alt"
sequences work). If I switch to the virtual console screen I see the following message:

---
sh: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre XKB keymap.
---

I verified and did not find 'xkb' directory under /usr/X11R6/lib/X11
Is XKB the reason? And what is it?
Could anybody suggest/guess something?

Thank you much,
George
