I did not read the complete original message, so I do not know if S. said that
it is an IDE drive.
This message grabbed my attention because I too have a Toshiba X 4 connected
to the SB, only it is SCSI. The SB card is SB SCSI 2, that has on it an Adaptec
SCSI controller. It is a common money saver, because it is cheaper than buying
an SB and a SCSI card.
Anyway, if your configuration is like mine in this respect, I would be happy
to supply info. As I recall (it was more than a year ago) I also had a problem
reading the *SCSI* CD rom at first, until I was give the solution.
