Setting the serial port for a dumb terminal
Dear list members,
I'm trying to set up one of my serial ports for a dumb terminal login
connection. I've added the following line in the /etc/inittab file:
S1:3:respawn:/sbin/uugetty -d /etc/default/getty -h -r50 /dev/ttyS1 DT9600
dumb LDISC0
and run 'telinit q' right after saving the file. 'init' immediately issued
the following message:
INIT: Id "S1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
My linux is a 1.2.13 kernel, running on a Pentium 90, and I've read as many
"man" & "HOWTO" pages as I could, in the last couple of days. What am I
doing wrong?
Thanks to all who'll bother to help.
Sincerely,
DD
