Re: Can't use Creative Hex Speed CD-ROM

Hi all

I've also replaced my double-speed creative CD-ROM with a newer one (quatro
speed - CD420E). I made big researches in CDROM-HOWTO, in other
resources (news groups and lists) and with the importer of Creative CDs. The
results are the following:
1. My CD is IDE ***but not*** ATAPI (this is what the Creative exporter
told me). (Ilan Aisic - may be yours also is not ATAPI?).
2. The CD is connected to the EIDE of my SB16 and works great in DOS. May
be it will work well if I connect it to my old IDE but I have no
place there for it (I already have there 2 disks).
3. All my desperate changes with the jumpers of the MASTER/SLAVE didn't help.

Anybody who can give me other pointers/clues to continue with my
"war" agaist my stubern CD, is most welcome.

Rani
