I had a little talk with a lawyer and was told that an Amuta is very
simple to put up and that it doesnt costs much at all (this lawyer was
willing to do that for us, but i understand there are others as well).

As for running the Amuta -
a. an amuta member has no obligations and does have to do nothing
concerning the amuta (except then meet once a year).

b. there should be a couple of people (3?) that will be doing the actual
decision making - which in ower case is close to null, 'cause we'll be
making the decisions just like we did so far.

c. we would have to hire an accountant to make our yearly reports, but
this should not be more expensive then any one of us pays for his/her
acountant if you run a business, so no problem there either.

I am told there are 180 or so list members. let us say only 100 of them
joins the amuta, or club or whatever, and each one is willing to pay 10
shekels a month.

that means 12,000 shekels a year (remember - an anuta does not pay taxes!!).
enough to pay the accountant AND run a show a year, even before geting
more funds from companies (DEC, Sela, TclTk, etc...) or any sort of
goverment funding, if any.

I think that 10 shekels a month is not TOO much to ask, considering
the Amuta CAN bring people to lecture, buy CD's and papers cheaply and
maintain the FTP sites in Israel plus whatever other idea we'll think of
on the way.
