In my opinion, we should show a few applications simultaniously (it's UNIX,
isn't it?!) - and the more, the better. MuPAD is intensively OpenLook libs based
and is a memory hog by itself. As most of the modern apps use Motif, we
shouldn't use xview's at all, unless the PC's on show will have 32+Mb RAM (my
box has 20Mb and running MuPAD makes it swap when switching between windows; of
course, I always have 5-10 xterms/editors/mailers/... - but the same will be on
COMPUTAX, that's my point). Why not to show Maple demo - though it's statically
linked it takes less memory and it's what people are familiar with. Showing
commercial apps/demos is also a good way to demonstrate that big companies
consider Linux seriously.
