Hi:

Well, status as follos:
1. I have the most uptodate slackware I'm aware of (slackware 2.3).
2. I have minilinux, whatever version was at ftp.switch.ch at the time of
computax.
3. I have almost all of sunsite, which is not uptodate, but my mirror
is fairly recent (and apparently more complete than the technions').
4. There have been about 1500 file transfers belonging to about 75 different
users from the Linux archive, since May 5th. I'll try to get some more
interesting statistics (such as number of connections, and statistics
since computax) in the next few days, when I find time.

I'd like to take this opportunity, of mailing to the list (no, I don't like
flooding people with 5 different messages a day ifI have 5 things to say)
for several other things:

1. I beleive Erez wasn't thanked enough by us for all of the hard work he
invested in computax, starting from collecting the money, dealing with
the organizers, and maintaining the lists through beeing there for 3
straight days (unless I'm mistaken, and that's hard - I fell off my
feel after 1.5), and finally by using his salesman talents and having
the best explenations around for all the interested people. He was the
guy who kept us going, and he was the guy we went to see if we needed
some administrative help (or calling cards in the first day...) So, Erez,
in the name of linux-il, thank you!

2. I'm volunteering my archive (for those of you who don't know) - you
can upload any linux stuff to the incoming directory, and drop me mail
about it. I offer myself as a general repository for anything you may want
(as long as the 600MB I have suffice), including a general place for Hebrew
software, documentation, or anything else. I don't want to impose myself,
and if Ira can volunteer his ftp it'd be as good as mine (or better?), but
such a repository can allaw a central place for people to retreive things
for linux i Israel (instead of wondering around the land).

3. I suggest next friday, if we want to meet in rehovot. I (and I guess
many others, including Shay for one) already have obligations for this
friday, and next one would be more convenient to arrange. Do we have anything
else to talk about besides computax? If this will be a computax meeting
in nature (the previous one had also lectures), I guess only several of
the more active people would arrive (of course, I can be wrong). If this
would be more like a general meeting, I think more people would arrive.

Ok, enough for now.

See you (and thanks for the slip help)!
Ariel
