Re: Recommended monitor cards?
In message <2B1D42131F@hagiga.jct.ac.il> you write:
|I will say only this - and I want to say it to ALL the group. I purchased
|recently a new ATI board. a PCI Graphics XPression 2MB DRAM. The board, on
|the genearl basis, is very good, however, I can NOT operate XWindows,
|neither with XFree or with XInside, and when I tried contacting ATI tech
|supp - I got an answer, which is too shamefull to SHOW here, but the general
|idea was that they do NOT support anything but Dos/Windows. I don't know
|about Diamond, but ATI made me VERY disappointed.
I'm probably the last person to ask about PC hardware (not having my
own, and with recent development won't have one for quite a while :-(
), but from what I remember about Diamond on comp.os.linux.* - after
being bashed by the Linux community for months if not years they
repented and supplied everything needed to support their boards.
Do with this info what you like, but after reading what Offer said I'm
even more likely to buy a Diamond card than ever.
By the way, Offer, how did you get in touch with Mach support? Their
representatives in Israel or what? Their answer sound a bit weird,
since from the talk on the Usenet it sounds like their cards are
support.
