It is not a question of not being "as good" as a Pro Turbo. The Win Turbo
_will NOT_ got above 1024*768 at good refreshes and even at 1024*768 it will
produce only the lowest refresh rates. Another assumption that if one is
buying an ATI, it is for the HIGH performance and for X11. Then why buy
a card optimized for Windows? Why buy, a-priori, a card that will NOT
be good at high resolutions? Which is, moreover, unexpandible? These
consideration, make the card, IMHO, junk.

Granted, granted. But at this juncture, it is better, IMHO, to buy an
Xpression than a WinTurbo. An Xpression is a very good and cheap stop-
gap between a lower end of the spectrum and the higher end - Pro Turbo,
#9 771, I128P (over and above the high end of the spectrum, that one),
etc.

WinTurbo is not an Audi. It is not a Delta, granted (Trident?), but it
is not an Audi. If you're looking for an Audi, buy a Diamond (Viper)
or a #9.

I may be spoiled. I will not buy a card that will be underperformed.
That is why I waited until I had the money to buy a good versiom.
That is also why I had a Cirrus Logic CLGD5428 - el cheapo and
bad.
The same is true now of my monitor - I have an SVGA run-of-the-mill
14" piece of trash that underperforms the card.

I am not going to be trapped into an argument on this. Let it be said,
however, that I hope you will write a book on Word (which I did).
On a pentium with 32MB, it only took 2.4 hours to repaginate a 64
page document. Have fun.

I hope it will. I suspect it won't. Good luck.
