Look, this is pretty obvious. If you can work with the CD on installation
time but not on runtime (from your /dev/hda1 partition), you chose
the correct boot disk (i.e. with the CD-ROM drivers. Probably sbpcd).
However, you failed to install the correct kernel on your hard drive.
A set offers two kernels, neither of which offer support for SBPCD.
The Slackware Q set contains a set of working kernels (NOT boot
disks). Find the one that contains sbpcd drivers and install it over
your current kernel. That should fix it.
