= Yeh.
= There is, or there will be mony in this (membership fees, selling CD's,
= installation parties, ?,...).
= I cant see why people needs this Amuta otherwise.
= Is there other such creatures (linux related) in the world ?
=
= I dont think that Linux or Linux-il needs this.

I agree with you. Linux enthusiast need not Amuta, he need link to Internet.
May be Linux Club ? Just place to meetings, small bookstore on interest,
a cup of coffe, new Linux-gazette issue ( but all this possible on Internet
without looking for time to waste on travelling to Club ).
Lets take another computer users ( HP users Amuta for example ).
Why this creature is not exist ? There are more HP users than Linux users
though. But software copyrighted, support exist, tonns of tips on Internet.
Whats more ?
Linux different, software copylefted, this is opportinity to exchange
(but why not on Internet ?). There is not support, because of copyleft,
but there are tonns of doc (they are bad I know), tips, newsgroups,
mailing lists at last ALL_ON_INTERNET.
Whats more ?

= There's a very simple answer to that.
= The aim of Linux-IL is to help the Linux OS be distributed, installed, used,
= maintained, and proliferated, and to provide Linux support to those who
= need it.

So you want to distribute Linux and support it for NON Internet users,
wan't you ? Lets think, who is a potential new Linux user. He is not
DOS user, I tryed it, it is very difficult to attract WIN/DOS user,
that know the only config.sys configuration file.
May be programming students ? But Internet.
May be small organizations that want not to spend money to buy HP-UX ?
Yeh, this is a gold fish.

= No money will go to group members' pockets. That's the idea of an
= amuta, or an NPO (NON-profit organization).
=
= The idea about creating the amuta is to have an official, legal status.
= This would enable us to deal with companies and get donations without
= legal difficulties, and would ensure that people understand we're serious.
= That, at least, is my opinion.

You want be serious. Why amuta ? It is not serious.
Organizations (companies) prefer do contracts with organizations,
prefer pay for support but get it.
Why NON_PROFIT ? May be "esek zahir" better ? Installing, saling, support,
network solutions, e-mail, Internet firewalls.
You can put advertisments "Linux - HaTshuva !" on buses, because you have
money. Donations enough just to Jewish Agency (he-he-he).
My opinion. Oleg Volkov
