To continue what the other wrote: you should get kernal 1.2.8 and later
and do the following:
when you intend to make the partitions, give the actual true parameters
of your disk (not the bios parameters which will be in LBA mode).
then when you run FDISK to create your partitions you should get into
expert mode (x) and change the head, cilinder, and sectors to the bios
LBA mode parameters. Thus you will be able to make the partitions correctly.
After you made the partitions and double checked that FDISK sees them as
you intended, boot again now without any parameters and install the software.
You can get more help in the file EIDE.TXT which you can find in any
slackware distribution version 2.2 and above (and maybe others).
