I said "ask" for all, not "require" all.  We ask for everything
needed, and we cope with what we get.  Also, I don't mean to ask for
anything directly X related.  More video hardware related, which if
they don't know it & can't figure it out, they should a) ask their
dealer to find out for them, and b) bring the manuals.

On a related topic, it'd be extremely useful to have various dos
probing programs available, such as something to display irq info,
maybe msd and/or Norton's sysinfo, etc.

BTW, this also goes for my other point, namely defrag & repartition
first.  As with everything, some people will be able to, and some
people will run into problems.  Maybe we should have 2 start times,
something like "Arrive at 9am, or at 8 if you haven't repartitioned
your disk yet".  But, "Repartition if you can", seems reasonable, if
we organize a startup 1 hr (or so) intro to Linux lecture for while
people are defraging & repartitioning...
