Linux & ATI Graphics Pro Turbo, Mach 64, 4MB

Hello all,

 I need help.

I have a PCI ATI Graphics Pro Turbo, Mach 64, 4MB Graphic Adaptor.
It should be supported by the XFree86-3.1.1 (XF_Mach64 server).
The problem that I have is that all the main windows has external frames,
like shadow. This doesn't look as synchronisation problems as other
parts of the picture don't have such shadow. As I chose heigher pixel depth
the shadow frames appears closer to the Original window.
All other features are working fine. The monitor (Sony GDM-17") can
synchronize on most of the modes.
The board characteristics are: PCI, Clock type ATI18818-1, Ramdac ATI68880.
The memory based address doesn't solve the problem.
It seems to me that one of the other chips (not the Mach64) is not fully
supported, as other ppls with other boards (with Mach64) reported that
the board is working fine.

Does any one have any clue how to solve the problem ?

Thanks for any help

Bye
