Re: ncpfs - Netware on Linux
Hi:
At the HU High School, we are also working with this small utility, and it has
indeed provided us with abilities we thought were not possible or that we have
to use commercial products (Netware NFS) to do them. Specifically, what we do
is mount the novell volumes on a linux which acts as a web server, and takes
some of its online content from the netware disks. This allows the students at
our school to create HTML files without ever having to work on unix (a
dreadfull thing to say, but it does make HTML creating in the short term ONLY
easier for them). Don't take me wrong - I'm not even trying to tinkle the All
Mighty Absolute Truth of the Absolutly Pure and Great Linux (no! don't torture
me!) - we will shortly start teaching unix at school, but in the meantime
(oops! no excuses! hit myself in the face!)...
We have had some technical problems with this software, mainly the occasional
uncalled for unmounting and recovery problems after the DO$ disk server is
rightfully punched, but then again we are not using the latest version
(hopefully upgrade soon).
Shay may be able to tell you more about this.
Regards,
Ariel
