Hi,
Up to now I'll give a very short note, since I din't explored the things
deeply...

So how do you convert some text format to html(gif, jpg)?
First , if you can save the document as a postscript file: foo.gs
you have done most of the job! You can do it by: print =>to file=>
choose a postscript driver...
So it doesn't matter whether we talk about PowerPoint, Word or SomeThingElse.

BTW, you can turn Excell to the tables as well....

For different kinds of converters look under:
http://www.w3.org/hypertext/WWW/Tools/

Ok, Lets get to the point:
I'm working with the program named webify you can find it under the same link
What it does: it creates html file + 1 gif or jpeg per page and links
between them. To customize, you play with template file. very simple.
just build your presentation from the ready one...

Now, you need cjpeg, if you don't have, don't worry (I don't have:-)
you can work with gifs, and you need netpbm package (use any search engine,
sorry it was already installed at my place)

The problem is that that webify can't work with big foo.ppm files
(foo.ppm is a intermediate stage in converting ps->gif. But it's
transparent for you. I wrote a script which is start the webify,
and fixes all the problems, just ignore the errors from webify.
After all compiled at your site it may have no problem at all!
So you can use it standalone.

Summary:
Get webify, netpbm (cjpeg if you want jpegs insted of gifs)
Save your files as .ps and run webify,
if you see errors like: can't understand raster header ???
ask me and I'll send you the fixes, as well my template file

I think that I have missed no thing...

Good Luck!
