Departing the list and stuff

Greetings fellow beings!

This comes somewhat late, but here's my optinion on the subject
anyway (actually I had written a message earlier, but I have to use
windows at work, and please don't flame me because of this I'm in
enough pain as it is, and just as I hit the send button it crashed).

Anyway I'd like to support the supporters of Marc, ahh, what the
hell, I'd like to support Marc (from a safe distance). I may not always
agree with his methods, but they seem to get the work done. If you're
familiar with the Ultinet OS and Hardware forums, you'll agree that
*not* answering each and every question each and every non-docs
reading newbie, blundering by happens to ask is the only thing that
stands between this list and the level of questions asked in said
folders.
I, for one, have found that most problems can be solved faster and
better by reading the right documents, and for those problems to
which I have found no answer the answers in this list have been most
satisfactory.
I wouldn't have bothered to post any question to a list on which
one of the most frequently asked questions is on the lines
of "How to make that ls will stop after every page like dir /p?"

Regarding Marc's specific style:

I find it difficult to believe someone can be offended by such
replies, to me they seem almost poetic (in a scorching sort of way). I
also find it extremely unbecoming for the offended party/ies to try and
hurt the offendant in real life (virtual wars should stay that way),
though I'd recon someone must have felt pretty dumb asking for
someone else to be fired because "he insulted me by mail", I further
hope this last remarks won't hurt my chances in joining any specific
company in the future :).
