Well, with this opportunity, you might consider upgrading. There's one
card I know, which is very unique in many ways - SOFTWARE emulation
of SB, 1 MB of onboard ram, wavetable synthesis, 16-bit. Sells for about
100$ (or less). Much better than the SB16 (no wavetable/ram), or the AWE32
(399$!!). Oh, and it runs great with Linux.
It's name - Gravis Ultrasound. I recommend it.
