The classic PPP setup is having a few IP addresses dedicated to PPP
dial-ins. Concerning your router problem - if the computer with the IP
and the PPP server run on the same LAN (same router), then there shouldn't
be any problem.

What I specified was the routine for the server side ONLY. The client
side has to run pppd as a client (this is real easy - read the howtos),
or even be Windoze.
