Linux seminars?
Hi, everyone.
After the big Computax event, from which I think Linux gained a lot
of popularity and fans, I think we should start looking ahead towards
next projects. Some have already been mentioned - providing Linux
CD-ROMs, having more floppy sets available around the country, etc.
I think, however, that there's one more direction we need to look
at seriously - seminars.
A lot of people I know would love to get into Linux and just don't
know where to begin, or how to operate Unix in general. This includes
both installation and general usage.
I therefore think that we should hold some kind of seminar every
once in a while. This would enable people both to learn Linux in
one sitting and to have a human to talk to (??). I don't know
whether we should hold these seminars for free, for money, or
maybe even via a seminar body (such as a company or university - our
CC in HUJI holds regular seminars. Perhaps we could fit in). I think
a lot of us are capable of holding seminars at least of the basics.
Tell me what you think, and maybe we'll start organizing something.

The chance of an event happening is inversly
proportional to the general desire of it
doing so.
