I am a technical person, only my experiance with linux and Unix is not as
vast and deep as yours, oh stuck-up Guru! I never cliemed myself to be
one.
I had to boot my system ro for various troubleshooting reasons in the
past. while I agree it's not a pretty site, I think it CAN serve this
purpose, and if not: like Tuvik said - just boot a ramdrive from a floppy
and dd the two disks without them being mounted at all. no need to be more
sarcastic than needed!

you must have tryed something smarter or more complex then a simple dd.
