Meeting Agenda




The third meeting of the Israeli Linux Users' Group will be held on
Friday, September 29th, 1995, at 9:00 am.

Place: Up to now, a room has not been guaranteed in Tel-Aviv University,
Bar-Ilan University, or any other place in the Tel-Aviv metropolitan
area. Because of the need to determine the location, and because a secure
alternative has not been made available, it is suggested that the meeting
will be held in The Hebrew University High School, at Jerusalem, Israel.
If people from Tel-Aviv succeed in arranging a room with the following
attributes with a reasonable notice, the meeting will be moved there
poriveded that:
1. It is in (or near) TA (and easy to get to).
2. There will be Linux machines and facilities to display the screen
to the audience.
3. Capacity - between 50 and 80 people.
4. Ethernet or easy unlimited Internet access near by - a plus.

Agenda:

1. Discussion of the two upcoming computer shows and our group's presence
in them: Funding, sponsors, and other contributions.
						Mr. Erez Strauss

2. Discussion about the possibility of cooperation with AMIX (The
Israeli Unix Association). Overview of the last AMIX conference,
and the technical details of cooperation possibilities.

3. Lectures:
	- Making Linux friendly to the home user using Tcl/Tk
						Mr. Shay Rojansky

	- Script writing in perl 5		Mr. Amoss Shapira

	- CGI scripts in perl: techniques, libraries, and examples
						Mr. Ariel Nowerzstern

	- The Internet project at the Gilo and Hebrew University
	  schools (depending on public interest, which is yet to
	  be determined)
						Mr. Shay Rojansky
						Mr. Oori Hason
						Mr. Ariel Nowerzstern

4. Round table discussion about security and network administration,
for users and administrators alike
						Mr. Amoss Shapira

Miscelenia: We are planning on having some refreshments. Please bring
5 NIS with you to cover the costs.

ideas and other stuff to reln@cs.huji.ac.il. It's important to have your
feedback ASAP - if you don't plan on being there, please mention if you
would come if it'll be in TA.
