I guess we should start a nice MASORET of a weekly post of the mailing
list's tech details and unsubscription FAQ. I am willing to post it once
a week if no one objects.

Hello list subscriber, and welcome to the tiny Israely spot of Israelism
in the world of Linux.
this list is voluntry and is not maintained by any commercial body, so
this FAQ is about all you can expect to get in the division of
technical assistance :-)

generally, subscribing and unsubscribing this list are taken care of by
the MAISER alias, and not the list's alias itself. please write to
maiser@hagiga.jct.ac.il with body text 'sub linux-il', 'unsub linux-il'
or 'help'.

remember: the list then subscribes your name according to the 'from'
field of your message, and not the 'reply to:' so remember to use the
exact same address when trying to unsubscribe, there is no other way to
do this, as the maintainer of this list can't bother with special requests.

the 2-3 error messages you or your root may get with every post are natural
side effects our mailserver has, this problem will not be solved until
the list server will move to a unix (Linux?) server (currently on
Netware). in the meanwhile, feel free to redirect them to /dev/null, and
don't bug us about it, we are well aware of it, we all post here.

		thanks, and enjoy posting here!
