3 Problems After moving from a.out to ELF
Hi,
First I should say that I run Linux 1.3.20 kernel, most of the Slackware
2.3 distribution ... gcc-2.7.0
I moved to ELF with help from Linux/ELF-HOWTO...
1) I have moved to ELF but I can't compile for the old a.out
I tested compilation for a.out I've gotten an error
>gcc -b i486-linuxaout foo.c
>/usr/i486-linuxaout/bin/as :unrecognized option '-Qy'
Do you know what's a problem ?
I've installed ld.so-1.7.3 libc-5.0.9 gcc-2.7.0 binutils-2.5.2l.21
2) My emacs compiled with ELF and X with a.out I've got both libX* compiled
with a.out and ELF. Is there any way to enforce emacs to use ELF libraries,
together with X using a.out libraries?
I believe I should play with PATH variable? I know that I can move to
the new XF86( with ELF libX*) ...
3) I can't run "man" command:
I run
>man ls
I get
>
Invalid null command
[1] 69: No such file or directory
Error execuring formatting or display command
System command exited with status 256
No manual entry for ls
>
I still can read man pages with "nroff ls.1"
Any help?
Thanks in advance!
