Which version of sz/rz are you using?
Which kernel version are you using?
How is your serial port configured (what setserial parameters are in effect)?
I noticed that the problem may have to do with incompatibility of the
freeware zmodem implementation bundled in Slackware 3.0 (kernel version
1.2.13) with the Oman version of sz/rz implementation which is shareware
and may be used by the Internet service providers.
Also, my modem had problems when configured as 16550A, but when I
reconfigured it as 16450 (with hi_speed), connections became reliable.
Presently, I use FTP over SLIP/PPP rather than sz/rz as my file transfer
method.
