They are ok, but they are eide and, as such, place an undue strain on the 
machine when in use. Worse, it has been found out that the Triton chip set
is running round-robin between eide, sio and pio, giving a markedly 
reduced performance when all are in use together. Removing at least one 
subsystem from the equation is not a bad idea.

Don't hesitate. An EIDE drive will take up to 30% of the CPU during heavy
activity as opposed to a LOT less on a BUS-MASTERING SCSI controller + a
SCSI drive. Hoever, much in SCSI depends on the controller - the more you
want the more you pay. Call me voice for details.
