No you don't . Your Router will be the gateway and your Linux 
computer will be one of the computers on your LAN. You can set it up 
to be a netware client ( so other computers using natware can see it 
and share resorses with it ) . You can set an IP to all your 
computers and then connect to Linux using FTP , Telnet ....( for that 
you dont have to set the Linux computer as a NetWare client )

So why the Rauter will be the Gateway ? .. Because once you give it 
an IP address it will know how to handle all the IP packets to the 
rtight place . 

My Network is connected to the internet via FR . The FR is connected 
to a Rauter which connected to the network as ane of all the 
computers. Each computer ( which uses TCP/IP ) set so that it's 
Gateway is the rauter.
