In your posting, you fail to observe the obvious.
The fact that flaming and meta-discussions generate much more
traffic is that people enjoy it much more than discussing,
sometimes boring, technical Linux issues. People don't
write long postings if its not fun.
I don't think many of the participants who flame newbie noise
producers are really bothered by the noise. If they were, they
would have ignored it like you suggest.
There is actually nothing wrong with that, people should have fun.
Note, your posting, as well as this one, are just more of this noise.
