Yes, a clue. You did _NOT_ bother to read documentation. Were you to do 
such a profoundly unpleasant thing, you would discover the following:

In SCSI-HOWTO, this specific message is refered to. You may have either 
an EATA board in your machine (i.e. a DPT) or an Ultrastor board. Please 
bother to read the pertinent HOWTO and post pertinent information.

A standard alternative is to invoke the kernel with "hd=c,h,s".
