Whatever they do with their current system when the same happens.
DOS is much less stable than Linux, and ignorant users can cause much
more damage under dos than under Linux in an unprivileged account. Yet
millions of laymen all over the world use it.
What do they do when something really bad happens? - it varies, and I
don't really care much. Either they have some friend who can help them,
or they seek (paid) expert advice. It really doesn't matter. End users
are _used_ to the fact that in certain situations they cannot handle
their system alone!
Want to go one step further? Publish in the Linux-IL web pages the names
of two or three people who can give paid assistance in cases of
emergency. This, a comprehensive and stable installation, and Linux's
natural stability should be enough to keep most end-users more than
satisfied. As for the others - they have some reading to do...
