Cannot umount nfs mount
Dear Friends,
Regarding the various USENET posting about not being able to unmount
an partition that was previously nfs mounted, please note that the man
page for mountd specifically states that "The current implementation
(still) does not keep track of remote mounts."
However, you do NOT have to reboot, Just "kill -HUP nn" where "nn" is
the PID of the /usr/sbin/rpc.nfsd process. Of course it helps to be
root to do this, but at least you don't have to reboot.
Please post this to comp.os.linux.misc and comp.os.linux.network
as I am in exile from USENET at the present time.
Thanks,
- yba
