Hebrew in emacs

*I'm* working with emacs 18.  It's quite a bit faster than emacs 19.
In fact, the manual-entry function is *so* *slow* in emacs 19 that
it's virtually unusable for long man pages - it gets to the point
where emacs takes 5 or more *seconds* to process a C-v in the manual
page buffer.
