Daily response
Hi.
Since I've been getting about 50 messages per day, I'll say my opinions
in one message, which should save us all some bandwidth and mails.
Connecting through 135 is a last-ditch solution only. There are no servers
(news, mail) and it is extremely slow (and could be unstable as well).
Who is it that worked in Actcom last year and got us a Class C? This
would be the best option, although if some people have accounts in the
Tel-Aviv area we could either fake full inet connectivity (i.e. Netscape
proxy) or tunnel it somehow.
Again, splitting the list is NOT a good idea. To repeat my previous
arguments, we do not have that much traffic except for Computax times,
and it would make things much more confusing and hard for everyone (hackers
and newbies alike).
Moving the list to CS is a good idea. We would have a stable, popular and
known list server (Majordomo) as well as the people to maintain and take
care of it. Users won't have the confusion of having to mail to maiser
instead of Linux-il.
I have been looking into the Linux books problem. Kol Zeev has failed us
completely (we can just buy the books for normal price and we can't return
them if they're not sold). I am looking for representatives of Linux/Unix
book companies (O'Reilly specifically). If _ANYONE_ knows a bookstore or
distributor/importer, please check them out (or mail me and I'll do it).
And last but not least, I got my subscription to LJ plus a cool Linux
T-Shirt. Recommended (via ssc.com).
