the only thing I can think of is installing NetwareNFS on the server, and 
boot the stations with a different set of diskettes which loads the 
kernel, and attaches to the server very much like the slackware NFS 
install. those disks must be able to load a root image into the memory 
(have at LEAST 8 megs on a station!), then run amd and yp if you want 
students to connect from all stations etc. or have each student carry his 
own pair of diskettes...
