ext2 file system doesn't have any problem with looking at cylinder >
1024.
It will see the partition and work with it with no ddo of anykind
(indeed it has an internal driver that overlooks the bios routines)
or any problem.
The only thing that will have a problem with cylinder > 1024 is
LILO that is somewhat of a trouble make but with a bit of luck will work
as well.
