Re: Webster server in Israel

In message <10EBFB65841@hagiga.jct.ac.il> you write:
|Hi all,
|
|Is somebody aware of webster server in Israel? Or one in some vicinity, which
|will serve requests from here?

Unless the situation has changed since a few years back, this is what
I know about Webster servers:

1. The dictionary is copyrighted (by the hairs of Noah Webster?)

2. The webster servers used to appeare on the net quite a few years back
   because NeXT used to sell their Cube with the dictionary integrated,
   and back then the net was so small almost nobody worried about people
   using them without permission.

Since then the "leak" was found and the current servers (if they exist
at all) are filtered to local networks.

So in accordance to that - I wouldn't expect a server to be publically
available on thet net.

(You might consider buying the unabbridged version of the Oxford
English Dictionary - 400 pounds? :-)
