Re: new mailing list server
Hi:
Bare with me, there are several issues in this message.
1. majordomo has a filtering option for messages that look like subscriptions
or unsubs.
2. Error messages go to me and not to the poster, so they get handled.
3. I mailed maiser@hagiga in the morning and still haven't got a reply.
So, when I do get a reply from the damn robot I will set up the new list.
I'll also try to think of a good way to transform smoothly.
Anyone not convinced we should move if that can be done smoothly?
BTW, do you guys want the reply-to to be to the list or to the writer?
The current setup caused more than one 'glitch'.
My $0.02 for the card:

The Israeli Linux Users' Group
For info: http://plasma-gate...
I don't think there is anything else really needed.
As for helping out: I can probably shell some 100 NIS and be at the booth
one or two days/afternoons. Those worthless bug-root-s... :(
Installation parties: we need a regular group of hacker volunteers to be
there before westart thinking of a location. Without such a group, the idea
can't be implemented. I can probably be in all jlm parties and once in a while
in TA.
Splitting the list: I agree with the 'wait and see' guys. Killing the list
would be a real petty.
Flyers: Ira, Linux people should know better than to use M$ Word. I don't
have one, for example. But I'm sure the flyer you wrote is just fine.
Internet connectivity at the show: Someone should get started with that!
I would have donated HUJI (can I?) but phone rates will be extremely
expensive even without calls to 02. Can we get some provider to co sponsor?
Kol Ze'ev cards: We don't want to do that unless we get money from them.
Or, if they give us their books to sell with a small profit margin (or
even without) provided we can return any unsold items. If they give us a
profit margin we can even have internet how to books in order to atract lower
end users to our booth.
That's it for now. Keep up the brainstorming.
Regards,
Ariel
