I recall reading something about problems with curses & ncurses,
either on comp.os.linux.* or on the linux GCC mailing list. All I
remember is that there are some versions of curses which don't work
with Linux, but I think there's at least one version of ncurses which
does work. But, I don't know where to find it. You might want to
contact the following people with
the details of your problem (taken from the linux address list):
Name: Zeyd M. Ben-Halim
E-mail: zmbenhal@netcom.com
Organization: NETCOM On-line Communication Services (408 241-9760 guest)
Stuff: ncurses (SYS V curses)
You also might want to pick up the DIALOG package (a package for
putting up menues from a shellscript). It uses ncurses, so maybe it
will tell you what you need to know about getting ncurses to work.
Here's an old reference to it's location on sunsite (& thus probably
mirrored on ftp.technion). I think it's up to version .3 by now.
/pub/Linux/utils/shell/dialog-0.1.tar.gz (13139 bytes)
displays dialog boxes from a shell script w/ ncurses (Dec 16 16:50:27 GMT)
