Technion LIP - conclusions.

I guess that much will be written in this subject - so lets the threads begin...

Well, here are some points came from today's LIP:
* Arrangement - Stas have done a good work with the organization of the
  hall and the electricity, so that there weren't any problems with that.
* HardWare - It seems that it's realy hard to bring enough, especialy when
  the participants were told that it's going to be enough if they'll just
  bring their computers (no monitor/KB) or even - just the HD.
  Fortunately - we didn't run into floods.
* Distribution - nothing like "self-installing" RH4.0!!!!
* Installation methods - the good old CDROM installation is still the best,
  but we should sharpen the HD-installation, especially for those who bring
  only HD's. I don't see any reason to fiddle with clumsy NFS installation.
* Tag-names - I think they helped us and the participants to communicate...

So what to prepare better for next time:
* More CD's with RH4.0 (or whatever distribution we'll agree on).
* More pre-prepared floppys: root/boot disks, DOS/FDISK/SYS/FORMAT sets, and
  the evening star:PQMAGIC.
* We should prepare a home-page with some kind of information tables to tell
  the participants what information they should gather and arrange about
  their computer/monitor...
* Many participants wanted to buy CD's. Well, today we didn't have much
  choice - AST (students association of the Technion) didn't let us to sell
  anything during the LIP, but for next times - this is a good point.

	That's all folks ;-)
