0. We want to register that name.
1. We want to become and amuta, but there is no final decision yet.
2. 0 and 1 are related because we want to register the name in the name
of the amuta.
3. Jonathan from TclTek will pay the $50 necessary for the registration.

1. The FTP server will be at TclTek because they have donated the disk
space (6 GB, compared to Marc's ftp site on leonardo - which is 1.5 GB -
and is pretty big).
2. The Web server will be at Ira's because he has thought of the idea first.
3. The mailing list will remain at cs.huji.ac.il
4. The primary DNS server will be at Ira's for the reason of 2 and also
because he can do such a hosting a provide the necessary management services.
5. The secondary DNS server will be at TclTek because they can host it
and as a tribute to 1.
6. If you don't know what 4 and 5 are it doesn't matter. And if you
insist you want to know, DNS is where the name to ip (and vice versa)
translation is done - meaning, that whoever has the DNS has control over
what the machine ftp.linux.org.il, www.linux.org.il will be and where
mail to someone@linux.org.il will go to.
> I think its obvious we need a meeting. so where and when?
We want to set up a grand meeting, preferably within a week to ten days.
No where is yet established. The meeting will be set up to approve our
becoming an amuta and to discuss 1 through 5 of the previous answer. We
also want to have an installation party at the same time, and if possible
- some other fun stuff as well.

Jonathan - can you help us on that one?

No. Fred and Mary can set up an amuta called linux-il without any
relation to us. We also don't want to force the linkage between being on
the list and being a member of the amuta.
There will probably be founding members, who will be the more prominent
members of linux-il, and members will pay a yearly fee or a yearly
contribution. Everyone in the list, and anyone else for that matter, will
be invited to join - but that's not necessary. (If The founding vs.
regular members is crap, correct me - I don't know a thing about amutot).
