Slow as it may seem compared to the MAN speeds we got used to at the
universities, I think that showing access to the Web should be a major
goal in the booth - this is the hottest thing people hear about in the
media, and showing Netscape/Xmosaic "just like on T.V." may creat big
waves.

I've seen a reasonable response with a decent 28,800 modem.  Does
anyone have access to such?  What about trying to hook to a booth
nearby with a good connection?

Maybe arrenge people bring even cheapo 486's and use them as
X-terminals?

The above reminds me - trivial things like ytalk/irc might also
impress Mess-DOS laymens, don't you think?
