Yes, it would be a good idea. I have SLIP and PPP configuration files
and scripts for connecting to Actcom from Linux. I don't understand why
I didn't think previously about putting them in my WWW site.

The same could be said about XF86Config or about sendmail.cf or the
multitude of other configuration files which you don't notice because
they are already configured and installed as part of Slackware (or Debian
or RedHat).

My interpretation of what is going on is:
The percentage of sophisticated users of any technology is small. And
those sophisticated users are usually the first ones to join new mailing
lists concerning that technology.
On the other hand, the FAQ and the Linux-IL home page appear to be
reasonably effective in serving the needs of the newbies (I mean the
clueful ones - those who DO have a clue), and/or the newbies send
personal E-mail to helpful regular participants. So we (thankfully)
don't see that many messages from clueless newbies.
Only sophisticated users have questions which cannot be answered by RTFM-ing.
Remember that the popularity of Linux is not (and should not be!)
necessarily measured by the number of messages from new members of
Linux-IL. Can we have any statistics about number of the various Linux
CD-ROMs and books sold in Israel - this would be a more reliable measure
of the popularity of Linux in Israel.
