Emergency !!!

I have just tried to change a mounted file system in /dev/hdb2
from dos to linux native because I had a space problem.
It seems like I did something wrong I dont know what.
ls -l gave "0" as the owner of all files.
and probably "fstab" dissapeared (and I dont know what it means)

I have tried to reboot the system and I can no longer log in.
It prompts with : "Enter level:" and after I type in some
number is goes to infinite loop saying "no more processess.
I have just now downloaded "bare" to try and create a bootable
diskate because the one I have seems to have a bug in it.

I realy dont know much about this basic things, althought I am
using linux for about two years. It has all my work on it (thesis ...)
I need help.

I hope someone that has any Idea of what could I do, can call me
(Friday, Sutarday) at 03-6393591 and help me with this.

It is very important.

Thanks in advance, Sharon.
