Subject: InterLUG
Greetings Linuxers!
We are attempting to build an Interactive Linux Users and Groups based
meeting(s). The first ever "InterLUG" meeting, is being held in Portland,
Oregon in the US on the 2nd of May. This started as a small idea that
received quite a bit of local support in the Pacific Northwest US, and I
thought that I would extend a warm invitation to your group to "attend."
Since it is incredibly late notice to expect anyone from afar to physical
come (though it certainly would be something to talk about!) we're hoping
you'll be interested in seeing via cuseeme reflector IPs AND possibly hosting
a reflector site for the greater MidEast...if anyone is interested and the
time zones don't completely kill every effort!
InterLUG is really about people getting together to meet and talk and just
have a good time linked by a common interest in Linux. We're hoping to start
a "following" where LUGs become more interactive with one another and open
the doors to a free exchange of information, views and interests.
Please reply even if you can not assist, we will be happy to forward the IP
of the reflector sites that do become involved so all can participate at the
level available.
Of possibly some local interest, we are also demonstrating a product I've
learned is designed and produced by an Israeli steaded company, VDOnet Corp,
makers of VDOLive, which is a real-time Internet Video server that runs on
Linux. We think very highly of the product and would very much like to hear
from your group, as we especially hope to someday be able to invite
representatives from all countries where LUGs are maintained, to enjoy in
person a couple of days of meeting and talking with fellow users of Linux.
Perhaps we could host it in Israel? I've never been and I've heard that it
is one place all should visit in their lifetimes.
Thanks and Take Care.
Rob!
