Re: modem in and out
I have had great success with mgetty+sendfax. It should be available
at the usual places under communications/modem. It replaces getty on
the serial line, and listens for a phone call. It then counts the
RINGS, answers, determines if the caller is voice, fax or data, and
hands off to the proper service (login, fax, modem or sound card).
Compiled for Linux right out of the "tar" (argh - a prehistoric tiger)
and quite easy to set up. As a matter of fact, I am using it right now!
If you need the archive, let me know and I'll set-up my ftp server for
a few days of anonymous login...
