oversize bug squashed!
the ftp address I published here yesterday of a patch worked great on
2.0.23, so far stood abusive pings from an NT station on the LAN, you are
welcome to try me through the WAN port too (you will get a "dead packet"
ping, because my system obviously won't return the packets...
the patch I gave here yesterday was installed smoothly (unlike Torvalds'
for some reason) and writes me on the colsole in big friendly letters
"Oversized Packet recieved from X.X.X.X", and appears in the system logs
ofcourse...
btw, does anyone know what this means?
Oct 21 09:12:18 bit inetd[105]: /usr/bin/tcpd: exit status 0x1
Oct 21 09:12:34 bit last message repeated 14 times
those 15 messages occure very oftenly, like every 6-10 minutes... are
those just a group of sessions closing, and syslogd groups them to bunches
of 15?
