Hardware for Internet providers
Hello,
just curious...
which hardware configuration (i.e. how many CRAY-I computers :-) an
ISP company needs to open a business. ?
For instance, on users side - multichannel phone, 28800 modem on each
channel; an ATM || ISDN || Framerelay connection with its own
provider; large Pentium server with 5-10 GB storage space and 128 Mb
memory, tape backups etc.
I've been told that Pentium is not enough for large number of
simultaneous connections. Since then, I think that they should work
with Sun stations...
Best regards,
