seriously... BSD has stopped the machinary, System V rolls on (Reason 1), 
and remember that the group that developps freeBSD is a tiny one, while 
Linux is much larger, it means people from all over the world, mostly 
more professional than the FreeBSD studetnts team, all kinds of hardware 
hackers and tweakers etc...
Linux supports more hardware equipment than ANY other PC UNIX.

support for it on the internet is MUCH stronger, it is the second most 
popular OS with ISPs in the US...

now if you want me to compare actual operation parameters, I can't really 
tell you, because I never ran FreeBSD, so I'll let the others help.
