FIPS Alert

Dear Linux-IL members,

Contrary to what was stated some time ago on this very list, FIPS *cannont*
reduce the size of a DOS partition entirely on its own: it needs a native
defragmentation utility to run ahead of it! Following is a quote from the
RedHat version 4.0 fips.doc:

"You need a defragmentation program in order to move all data to the
begining of the hard disk. FIPS will only split your partition if you have
enough free space at the end."

Successful hunting.

Dany.
