RE: IP & tshost (re: my previous mail)



look - it's really simple....

twinsock is an EMULATOR. it opens a socket, under the IP of the host where 
you run your things on - BUT - instead of redirecting the output they get on 
the screen or to a file, they take it, make it look like normal TCP/IP 
packets - and send it to the tty of the user - meaning - through the modem.

the computer on the other side gets the information, that of course for it it 
seems fine. it then sends it's requests back to the tty - which translates it 
back to normal requests - as any other client that calls the inetd function 
library - and brings new data. no problem what so ever.

the windows computer doens't REALLY get the same IP - if you'd telnet to that 
IP - you'd always get to the UNIX machine - all it does - is redirect the 
data to the computer running tshosts.
