Hi Amos,

 Did you try to compile the kernel or other big packages with

MAKE="make -j 3" make zImage

it should make compilation twice as fast as the regular make command.

Can you check the linuxthreads-0.5 to be really working on SMP
machine ? Does it really do the job. This library uses multiple
Processes with the same address space (see clone(2)).
