'Better' is relative. This means that the throughput is about the same.
However, PPP is much easier to set up on the client side, and much
more versatile. You don't need to fill in the IP numbers etc. --
the protocol handles this stuff by itself.

OS/2 Warp does support PPP. Just get the official IBM patch for
The Internet Connection (from Hobbes or ftp.technion /os2).
This adds PPP support to the packages.
