Re: Best SCSI for Linux (fwd)
This guy seems to hate Adaptec pretty badly. although the only trouble I
had with them till now is the fact they don't release the specs, which
makes erverse engineering a MUST, and releasing of drivers slower...

Any Buslogic PCI card. Avoid Adaptec like the plague. The Adaptec drivers
are reverse engineered, have bugs and do not run at top speed. The
manufacturer is hostile towards Linux and has made engineering changes to
their cards that broke the drivers in the past.
On the other hand Buslogic supports Linux, provides full technical docs to
Leonard Zubkoff http://www.dandelion.com and helps him work out bugs in
the drivers with full tech support. Linux is even listed as a supported
OS.
Buying Adaptec SCSI cards is like shooting yourself in the foot. You
deserve what you get.
