technically, yes, Unix can handle it, but like I said, because of some
wierd standards in the net, most mailers automatically decap incoming mail
addresses.

like I said, it's ok to recieve mail for Ira, because ira will recieve it,
but Ira is not a standard username (all around the Internet people use
nonCaps usernames), the reson sendmail turnes it into small letters, is
because VMS is not case sensitive and sens it all incaps, which means if
you write mail from a vax to either ira or Ira, it comes out as IRA, and
unix has to deal with it, this is in fact the logical solution and is the
common one across the Internet and I think in 99.99999% of the Intranets.
want to fight it? ok, go and reconfigure sendmail, just don't ask me to
explain /etc/sendmail.cf now, O'Reily has a 900 page book about that file
alone.
