You don't give the brand or model of your motherboard
I have a Tyan (Tomcat II) model that requires a tag [32kx8] static RAM
chip to _cache_ the memory above 64MB.
Could you be in a situation where some cache memory would be needed to
see (rather than cache) the memory above 64M?
comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.chips should be of help.
