Yes, we got around the boot problem basically by making a mini-root
partition on the hard disk.  We mounted the mini-root instead of the
floppy during installation so that we could remove the boot floppy and
replace it with the root floppy.  This worked out...

I'll tell them.  Last I checked (yesterday afternoon), they had put a
ATI mach 64 card into the alpha, but unfortunately it seems the card
requires the 3.1.2D server, which it seems hasn't been compiled for
the alpha yet.
