And for writing these files on WIn95, you can use the tar and gzip
utilities from this FTP directory:
ftp://ftp.cs.washington.edu/pub/ntemacs/latest/i386/utilities/win95
On the other hand you can Zip them on Win95 and get from the net
a Zip utility for Unix.
