it won't. the DDO is a BIOS extension, and Linux (I love you dude!) is 
smart enough to use its own routines. there is no way Linux will agree to 
look at that HD...

do what I did... a DOS maximal (~528MB) and the rest Linux, or Linux on a 
second small IDE, with no ability to see the DOS HD (which is 'under the 
influence' of DM)

one last idea is to install OS/2 which CAN see above 1024 cylinders 
without the DDO thingy.
