My first CD offer has been a great success, and I'd like to thank the
Linux community for its support. I am happy to offer a new Linux CD
with both the Slackware(tm) 2.3 and Red Hat distributions for $10
plus shipping and handling.
Slackware 2.3 is the most current version of Slackware, with Linux kernel
1.2.8 and up-to-date versions of Linux software. You get the following
features with Slackware 2.3:
o Unix-like operating system with the usual Unix commands
o easy installation and configuration
o supports most PC hardware
o complete documentation on CD
o X Window System (XFree86 3.1.1) with graphics and applications software
o TCP/IP (Internet) services, e-mail, telnet, ftp, etc.
o modem communications programs
o TeX, LaTeX, and other *TeX programs
o tons of other applications programs, name it, it's probably there
o X games, text games, SVGA games
o C/C++ compiler and debugger (gcc 2.6.3)
o GNU Ada compiler (GNAT), GNU Pascal compiler (gpc), f2c, other languages
o complete source code
If you've been downloading the ~300 megabyte Slackware distribution onto
floppies, you also get to reuse all your old disks and modem time for
something else :-)
The Red Hat distribution is similar to Slackware, and is the basis of the
new commercial Caldera distribution. If you'd like to try out a different
distribution, Red Hat is a nice alternative. It comes with an easy-to-use
install program.
The CD sells for $10 US. It comes with a jewel case and an insert that tells
you how to get started installing Slackware and Red Hat. Please add $4.00
for shipping, $5.00 outside the US (add $1 shipping for each additional CD).
If you can't pay in US dollars, please contact me for details. Checks, money
orders and CODs accepted. Add $4.00 for COD orders. If paying by personal
check, your order will ship after the check clears. TX residents add 7%
sales tax. I will donate 10% of the sales price for each CD to the Free
Software Foundation. To order or for more information, contact me at:

When ordering, please specify Slackware 2.3.
I also offer free technical support to my customers through e-mail for
installing the Slackware distribution. If you would like to see what
is on disk before you buy, you can find a gzip'ed 'ls -laR' of the CD in
ftp://ftp.crl.com/users/ad/adras/ls-laR.newcd.gz .
The Slackware 2.2 CD with the `docs' directory from tsx-11.mit.edu is still
available for $9 + $3 s+h; contact me for more information. Please look for
more Linux products from ADRAS Computing in the future.
