new kernels

2.1.7 and 2.0.25 are out.

remember you have a very good collection of unofficial patches at
http://www.ecsnet.com/html/linux_upatch.html collected off the Usenet
circles.

for those wondering about the news in those last two stable kernels, here
goes: (also available at http://www.ecsnet.com/ - great site!)

Linux 2.0.25 Patch - patch-2.0.25.gz

Fix for P6 Local APIC Spurious Interrupt Bug
IDE Tape Update - Automatically cros encountered filemarks rather
than requiring an explicit FSF command. Abort pending requests
at end of media. MTTELL was sometimes
     returning incorrect results.
     Keyboard Driver Update
     3COM 3c59x Updates - Module support
     NI6510 Ethernet Driver Update
     TULIP Ethernet Driver Fix
     Adaptec 1542 SCSI Driver Update
     SMBFS Time Fix
ICMP Spoofing and junk protections added!

   Linux 2.0.24 Patch - patch-2.0.24.gz

IDE Driver Update: EATA SCSI controllers do a hardware ATA emulation:
Ignore them if there is a driver for them available.
     Fix for cdu31a CD-ROM Drive
     ISDN Driver Update
3c509 Ethernet Driver Update - Increased the eeprom delay. Regardless
of what the docs say some people definitely get problems with
lower (but in card spec) delays
Support for DIGITAL Series of FDDI EISA and PCI controllers
ArcNet Driver Update - Turned arc0e/arc0s startup messages back on by
default, as most people will probably not notice the additional
          devices otherwise, and experience more
     protocol confusion than necessary.
Update to ni6510 (am7990 'lance' chip) Ethernet Driver
     SLHC Driver Update
     TULIP Ethernet Driver Updates
Update to AM53C974 SCSI Driver to load as a module.
     NCR5380 SCSI Driver Update
     AHA1542 SCSI Driver Update
     MTU Fix for /proc/dev
     ICMP Code updates
     IP Forwarding Update
> Oversize Packet Fix < !!!
     RARP Code Update
     IOMEGA Floptical Fix
MenuConfig Update to not allow for invalid options
