Re: linux stuff on tau, (was: Debian on ftp.linux.org.il?)
well OpenU gets a feed of comp.os.linux.* for the TAU newserver
so the articles are there ...
the newsgroups are probably just missing from the active file
(probably a result of the (long ago ) com.os.linux reorg not being applied)
anyhow TAU has a full newsfeed ( more or less ) - if you're missing a
newsgroup - probably all that is need is adding it to the active file
of course asking the ppl who run the newserver nicely ( inside TAU )
not on linux-il would probably get you better results
but then I have some good friend at TAU CC system - I guess I'm biased ...
in any case the old rule of not getting what you don't ask for aplies to
newsgroups as to many other things
(now alt.binaries.* is another story - normally censored for lack of disk
space or bandwidth - if it is at all ( al.biniaries takes up *only ~800MB
on the TAU news server - with quite a short expire - my main reson for not
indetning to get a feed of alt.binaries at openu.ac.il ... )
back to linux if you don't mind

Rafi
