Re: LISTEN!! - Its wrong!
In message <6096EF7845@hagiga.jct.ac.il> you write:
|with mail like that so there are 2 options:
|
|1. I'm going to UN-subscribe (not what I want but probably must).
Sorry to hear that. I think there might be other options.
|2. Mail traffic via the list is going to be more direct and replies
| will be to the mail originator and not to the list.
Though the mail server is wrong (IMHO) to automatically put the list's
address as the "Reply-To:" header, many replies are of wide interest
(e.g. I saved Harvey's instructions about setting up ppp for the time
I'll need this).
The third options I was thinking about is that you will setup a mail
filter, just tell it to forward all messages with ``To: "Israel Linux
users list" <Linux-il@hagiga.jct.ac.il>'' or somesuch directly to a
separate folder, so you won't popup your mail agent every time a
message TO THIS LIST arrives.
Many such filters are available on the net, one I remember is
procmail, but I never used any so I can't comment about them. Anybody
else care to help with personal experience?
Hope this helps you stay on the list....
(I put your address separatly, in case you have allready subscribed,
hope it's OK with you)
