if you use Linux it needn't matter. DOS is your trouble maker.

DiskDamager is old and problematic, I sugest using EZ-drive if you MUST
(it doesn't do the sector shift, and optimized to work with LBA BIOSes
that can't see XXL disks (3.8 and 4.3 Fast-ATAPI disks that just hit the
market, and even LBA won't handle them anymore)

I can Email it to you, but I must warn you: I didn't manage to boot linux
with EZ-drive and LILO (well, I didn't really try TOO much), nor didn't I
try with loadlin at ALL.

DiskDamager is not disk-maker specific, btw, they give them away both with
IBM and WD disks...

PM has nothing to do with translation..

bottom line again: DON'T use any artificial add-ons if all you are gonna
run is Linux, or all the space you need for dos fits in the first 1024
cylinders (then use Loadlin, and not LILO)
