Linux-IL has the strangest procedure I ever saw for voting on a place of
meeting:
It is not sufficient to cast your vote, but you (or someone else of your
gang) must also secure a meeting place which meets as many of the following
requirements as possible:
1. At least 31.41593 good seats (the number was rounded up a bit).
2. A large screen projector which can display the contents of a PC screen.
3. A PC whose processor is at least 486-66, and whose hard disk is full
of Linux stuff. The PC must also have hardware+software interface to
the Internet.
4. Connection to the Internet.
5. Has been subjected to a blessing ceremony conducted by our godfather,
Harvey J. Stein.
6. The sponsor must have had taken his turn at writing down
lecture notes of a previous meeting - for the Deaf members of Linux-IL,
for publication in the two Linux-IL Web sites and for History.
Furthermore, his lecture notes must have been judged to have
sufficient quality to get grade of at least 76.54% (out of 100%) - the
judges being the panel of Deaf Linux-IL members and Linux-IL Web site
maintainers.
7. The meeting place must NOT have been contaminated by the corrupting
and foul presence of a copy of the Windows 95 software during the last
7 days and 6:15 hours before the start of the meeting.
In addition, you must endure at least two rounds of voting, initiated by
people who did not bother to secure a room and who did not read previous
E-mail from the list, and who do not know the Linux-IL culture,
procedures and rules.
