You have to install the a.out libraries. Most linuxes are ELF those days,
but netscape is linked with the a.out libc. 

Probably this also belongs to the FAQ.

A better idea is to use the v3 field test(Atlas), you still need the a.out
libraries, but it is somewhat better. 

Actually I have switched from b2 to b3, I was afraid that b2 will expire
on me, and now I am fighting with the helper applications. Something has
changed with the exec and even if I can specify the full path it doesn't
finds the rm and everything remains in the /tmp. Maybe the change is in
the kernel itself -- pre-2.0.4.
