	There are two lines of kernels : product (1.<even>.x = 1.0.x)
	which are stable enough but without some new dazzling features,
	and development (1.<odd>.x = 1.1.x) which are "hacker's
	paradise", but they are unstable and it's not recommended to use
	them to anybody but kernel hackers or if you need THE feature
	of this kernels (like some IDE performance patches). The
	last versions I know of is 1.0.9 and 1.1.26.

	Speaking about distributions I know that about a week ago
	Slackware 2.0 was released - it includes 6 boot kernels (i.e.
	you can boot from them during installation) and about 10 more
	for later install (I think I understood it right).
