Dialing out with CHAT
I trying to setup "ppp" on my home PC with a 14,400 modem. Using LINUX Network Admin. Guide as
a reference, I'm using chat for dial-out.
The example given is: $ chat -v 'ATZ OK ATDT318714 CONNECT 'ogin: xxx word: yyyyyyy
I've suceeded in dialing out with PC-Anywhere via DOS with the modem setup as Microm QX 4232 bis.
The questions I'm asking my self are: Is there a MODEM config file to setup as in uucp or only via AT commands. Is there a daemon that needs to run in BG in order to dial out.
I've cheched by serial setup in rc.serial and it looks OK.
Any suggestions anyone ... I would really appreciate it.
