Indeed, use of Samba mounted netvolumes under DOSEmu is problematic and indeed,
it (ksmbfs) isn't very solid (though, I didn't try the latest version). As of
Samba server, it does look stable and reliable (make sure to use >= 1.9.13). I
saw a few posts, that for large number of clients (~100) it's slower, than
Novell, but haven't had chance to check it myself (on plasma-gate, Samba serves
1-3 clients simultaneously).
