The hminicom package does not work with minicom 1.71

Hi everyone,
I have recently upgraded my system from Linux 1.1.13 to Linux 1.2.13.  As 
part of the deal, also minicom was upgraded (to version 1.71).

To my chagrin, I found that the methods used in my hminicom package do 
not work with this newer version of minicom.

I am still investigating the problem.
