Due to a project involving programming in Windows, I am studying the
subject of OLE. The Microsoft Press published book about it describes it
in glowing terms as a solution for building large applications from
component objects.
This leads me to wonder what (if any) similar or equivalent technology
exists in the Unix world (in particular, in Linux)?
Also, did anyone try to implement something similar to OLE in any Unix
environment?
