Hmpf. Bear with me.
1. I'm the list maintainer. The list maintainer can always be reached via
owner-linux-il@linux.org.il, no need to guess who he is.
2. About PLP's lost message(s) - the one about etherboot/netboot was
received by me; it's not my fantasy as it appears in the archive:
http://plasma-gate.weizmann.ac.il/Linux/maillists/97/12/msg00379.html
3. As for PLP's second lost message, I don't know which one it is, but I
suggest to PLP that he should check the archive to see whether it has
arrived.
4. As for nirs@vipe.technion - the headers clearly indicate that the
message was indeed received from vipe.technion. Not only that, but the
person who sent the offending message had Nir's exact signature, so it's
quite likely that it was in fact mailed from Nir's account (but at least
from the same machine). This does seem to have anything to do with majordomo.
5. As for people unsubscribing other people from the list - the only
people who get unsubscribed from the list are those who ask to be
unsubscribed and those whose email addresses become unavailable (as
explained in the FAQ) (how should I notify them if their email doesn't
work!?). I know of no case, since this list existed, that someone
unsubscribed someone else from the list against his will. Therefor there
is no problem - this is a non-issue.
6. As for switching mail software, we've upgraded our mail server now, as
expected for quite some time. We're now working with Exim, not sendmail.
List exploding seems to be much faster now. Disk doesn't get filled up
all the time like it did with the old server.
7. If anyone has any problems with the mailing list; any questions; he
stopper receiving mail; his keyboard bites him or his dog left him -
he's welcome to write to me. No need to bother the whole list about it.
Regards,
Ariel
