Parallel to SCSI
Hello guys,
On the last Infotech show, I saw a "Parallel-to-SCSI" device by Tocumen
company. Essentially, the thing consists of a cable with a built-in SCSI
controller. You connect it to a parallel port of a PC, and on the other
end you can connect any SCSI device, up to seven of them, as usually. It
costs only $120. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, the company provides drivers for DOS/Win95/NT, and nothing
for Linux or any other Unix.
So my questions are:
1. Are there any Linux drivers for this or similar devices?
2. Any other solution for a protable SCSI device which can be attached to
a Linux box which does not have an internal SCSI controller?
3. If there is a positive answer to the question(s) above, can Linux
manage such a beast on-the-fly, without the need to reboot?
Thanks,
Andy
