 Does Linux distinguish between EIDE and Ultra-DMA? In any case, here
 goes an excerpt from my boot diagnostics:
 
 hda: ST32122A, 2014MB w/128kB Cache, LBA, CHS=1023/64/63
 hdd: TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-6102B, ATAPI CDROM drive
 ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
 ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
 Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
