What new version are you speaking of. There were quite a number of
releases lately. I am currently using version 0.46B of the driver,
"3c59x.c:v0.46B 9/25/97 Donald Becker
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/vortex.html
It has no problem detecting both 10Mbit 10BaseT links, 100BaseTX links,
and it uses the MII transceiever. For example:
loading device 'eth0'...
eth0: 3Com 3c905 Boomerang 100baseTx at 0x6900, 00:60:08:4e:4f:eb, IRQ 10
8K word-wide RAM 3:5 Rx:Tx split, autoselect/MII interface.
eth0: MII transceiver found at address 24.
Enabling bus-master transmits and whole-frame receives.
