RedHat 5.0

Hi!

I know many of you heard about this Linux distribution by RedHat software
and even wanted to install it / upgrade to it.

I just wanted to tell you _NOT_ to do that.
I've installed it on one of computers at my workplace, since we didn't
have other version on our mirror, and I was installing from FTP.

>From what I've seen:
1. It's just a commercial trick by RedHat software, there's really nothing
*new* in this distribution except:
2. glibc, which is EXTREMELY buggy, and doesn't let you compile many
things.
I ended up with throwing glibc-devel and installing libc and libc-devel,
however I couldn't uninstall glibc itself since many RedHat utilities
depend on it.
3. All this distribution is about being more user-friendly, maybe they did
achieve this, but in cost of things like being stable system.

In a conclusion; I'm using RedHat 4.2 with 3.0.32 kernel, and although
this distribution doesn't lack bugs as well, it's works just fine for me.

And why upgrade if something's working ok already?
