Re: PPPD error message?




Hi,

I got exactly the same problem when I tried to install Hylafax. Everything
worked perfectly, except for faxgetty hogging the serial port, making pppd
give the strange "ppp not supported" message. 

Changing the permissions on the device file etc. did not solve the
problem, so I would also be very interested to hear from anyone who knows
the answer.

BTW, it did not work at all when I used cua1, only with ttyS1. Other getty
type programs had the same problem.
