I had such a problem with a very old AIX 4 (4.1.4 or 4.1.5 I think).
It had problems talking with the linux NFS, while SUN talked to linux just
fine, and AIX talked to SUN fine also.
Anyway, its solved with AIX 4.2.1. Right now (these very moments) I am
installing an 4.3 on this machine, so I will soon check it on the AIX 4.3
talking to a linux 2.0.32. I hope the problem is not back, as 4.3 took
some code from 4.1.x while skipping some 4.2.x code. (unchecked rumor)
