linux-lp144 ftp locations and MORE
I stand corrected:
linux-lp ftp sites:
ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/distributions/linux-lp*
ftp://ftp.pet.ac.il/mirror/linux-lp/linux-lp*
ftp://ftp2.linux.org.il/linux/contrib/local/linux-lp/linux-lp*
To all who want me to add programs to this system: There are currently about
20k of free space on the disk, so think thrice. I will recompile all the
system as soon as the programs are stable. Then I will also remove a lot of
unused functions from the libc (take 30% disk space now). After that it will
be more stable and there will be more room. I expect to be able to add
TCP/IP and Lynx in autumn. That will be V2.0beta. 1.0 will be tha stable
version of 0.0beta (the one available now).
BTW: I have given a thought to build a system based on such a kernel such
that it can be used in a small network (serial cable) with older 386's as
stations. The stations would have 1 floppy and no hdd, connected by serial
cable to a Linux server. Menu system to prevent too much learning for users,
shared printers etc. This should suit a small business. Any interest ?
