Problems installing debian
Hi everybody,
I got InfoMagic's Developer's Resource (a good buy, by the way) and
tried to install debian 1.2.
I made all the needed floppies (the need for 7 floppies is a major
drawback, compared to RedHat!) and started the installation.
At a certain point while reading the second base floppy, the
installation stops with the error message:
write pipe : Unknown Error
I tried 3 different copies of the 2nd base floppy, and in all cases the
problem was at the same point exactly, which excludes floppy reliability
problem as a possible reason. I took care of all BIOS settings as
required in the debian installation guide, and as far as I can see, all
my hardware is properly recognized in the boot process. Does anyone have
any idea what might be wrong?
