AFAIK, the sendmail doesn't need to be running in daemon-mode in order to
send mail, you need it to receive. Does sendmail run slowly in general?
Of course I can send mail if sendmail is not running as a daemon with sendmail, pine, mail or whatever. The problem is that when I want to send mail to shlomi@localhost, I need to have sendmail running in order to receive the incoming mail. (that what I meant by saying sending email for myself.)
As far as I noticed sendmail is not slow once it finished loading, but I'm not too sure about that.
