*Bad* advice.  kerneld is *not* the way to do it.  Using kerneld to
run request-route was a very brain-dead idea and has since been
removed from distributions.  Having the kernel escape to a user space
process in the middle of servicing a packet breaks all sorts of
assumptions in the kernel code.
