UPS continued + QUESTION

I am burning in the new UPS after changing the battery (I was talking
from experience) and it just occured to me that the little sticker on the
front panel that says:

"You HAVE to turn off the main (UPS) switch after shutting down the
computer during a prolonged power outage."

Translated into electronical facts, this means that if you have the
server shutdown after 5 minutes of UPS sucking, the server shuts down
(software), and continues to operate (hardware), until the battery in the
UPS is empty.

QUESTION: Does anyone know of an UPS that either shuts down itself after
say, 5 minutes of operation (or a settable amount), and wakes up when the
power comes back, without emptying the battery completely, OR one that
can be ordered to shut down by the host through the cable.

imho such behavior is highly desirable.

Anyone having experience with this please let me know.
