Re: Dynamic linked Netscape - Eli where are you ?
Hi!
I re-send this message again. The original was sent again and again
to linux-il, but only caused many error messages; I hope this one
will be luckier...
Anyway, I'm not in the army reserve anymore, but I don't have time
to write this message again, so read the original...

I'm very busy now (army reserve), so let me quote a dialog between me
and Roman:

Wow!

I really didn't know it and even didn't figure it...
The reason: An early beta was static, so I even didn't think that
they chnged it...

Yes... a very standard Motif version...
Important news!

I'm in army reserve (Milluim) between Suffa (Israeli place) and
Chirbet-Chizz'a (yes, the same from S. Yizhar's book). And - yes, I
began to work on it. The problem with communicator is that the mail
is composed by their special widget (NewManage) instead of the
standard XmText, so the dual support (for both visual and logical
order) will be problematic for mail composition. In order to have
a perfect logical order support for an input widget, its source
must be available.
In addition, most of the platforms (including Linux) still don't
have the final version, so we have to wait.
Regarding to Motif 2.0 (Meir) and LessTif (Alexander):
We are very lucky that Netscape used Motif 1.2 for Communicator.
The "alternatives" are so non-standard and problemtaic. I can name
more than hundred of known commercial applications that use Motif
1.2. Now, name at least 2 (!) known commercial applications that
use LessTif and/or Motif 2.0...
Yes, I know that LessTif supports ddd. So what ?????????
Wine supports Solitaire (or Minesweeper, I don't remember). Does it
say that it will support Internet-Explorer or Word? :-)
