LUG, Articles, Linux Ads, Banner needed , Party report + more

Hi,

Wow it was a long day...

Instead of sending a lot of email I've collected them all in one:
1. Party advertisment - hyperbanner -- need banner!
2. Party Registration - more gurus than newbies!
3. A few articles and info - antimicrosoft + Linux!
4. What groups are there - We aren't on the world's list of the groups
5. New Project - Want to browse easily the kernel's code?

Thanks to everyone for posting a comments and advises regarding
Linux+Intel.
More input is welcome. I'll build a page from your thoughts

I'm trying to find the info Peter said but in vain.
I mean other events where big companies supported linuxers.
Please help, I went to read german and spanish to dig some info (no that I
understand a word :-)

So please try to find out about the sponsors, Thanks!

This is my info I can share with you and ask you about for today:

1. I have set up an ads account at hyper - I know they are sucks but at
least we will have more people know about the upcoming event thru them

I need to make a banner to put there Something in Hebrew like

a. Don't you believe in a free dinner? We will Serve you!
b. The Best OS for free!
c. Wanna a Free T-Shirt plus Free OS?
d. Your ideas???

See a nice teasing ad : http://www.linux.org/images/sponsor/webnet03.gif

I think that word linux should be out of the ads, it should be attractive
but unknown words may disattract the public!!! Let them learn what's that
all about once they enter the site!

Someone volunteer to prepare the banner(s)? How about a contest? (We can
put 2 banners)

<QUOTE>
* Make sure your banners aren't bigger than 8K and are exactly 408 X 60
	pixels in size.
* No Transparent or Animated GIF's are allowed!
* You must use only a GIF format. Other format will be automatically
	converted to GIF!

2. Party Registration

We have 3 newbies and 5 gurus registered - why do we need a party :-)
One Linux CD wanted meanwhile

Why a Penguin?
http://www.linux.org/info/penguin.html
Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really
embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen
a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot
more careful about what they say if they had.

4. We are NOT on the following lists:
LUG list overview

<QUOTE>
This list is intended to help you find a local Linux User Group (LUG) and
provide each LUG with a way of
telling people where they can be found.
To be honest this list is intended to become the reference to find your
local LUG or find any other relevant
information. Much work will be done in keeping the list up to date and
	finding LUG's around the globe.
