Next Linux-IL Monthly Dinner
It's time to start planning the next Linux-IL monthly dinner.
According to our tradition, it should be held on Thursday June 12.
However I suggest that once a year we should depart from tradition, and
for 1997, it'll be appropriate to hold the dinner on Tuesday June 24 (or
if not possible, on Thursday June 26).
The June 24 date will celebrate the 21st birthday of Viki the Godmother of
the Linux-IL monthly dinners. Since this will be the first time she'll be
permitted to legally buy and consume alcoholic beverage in the barbaric
area in which she lives now, it may be appropriate to hold the dinner in a
pub (as close to a Central Bus Station as possible) and try to see how
much Linux related intelligent discussions can we hold under the influence
of C2H5OH - while celebrating Viki's birthday.
Transportation: by bus or taxi. People should not come by their own cars
so that they'll be able to safely get back home even in highly drunk
state. The suggestion to locate a pub in a central bus station (in Tel
Aviv, Haifa or Jerusalem, or even in another city) is geared toward this
goal.
Law-abiding Minors (age lower than 18 according to Israeli definition of
minors): drink grape juice and bring water pistols.
Miscellaneous: bring obsolete, used and out-of-order
Linux-incompatible laptops in order to destroy them in the wildness of
the party.
