[off-topic] Re: Connecting to the Linkage
Thanks very much to all of you for discussing the Linkage issue. I have
a Web site about deafness related issues, and it is currently not on
Linkage. One of my important goals is to let people access my
information as quickly as possible, so most of the pages are short and
the only graphics in my Web site is the picture of my own face.
Since adding the Linkage has adverse effect on the speed of loading of my
Web pages - I will not add it. Also, so far I didn't have an occasion to
follow Linkage links to new Web pages. When I look for something,
usually I am concentrated upon my subject.
Back to topic: the best way to promote the Linux-IL Web site is to ask
other relevant Web sites to provide links to it, to register it with
search engines, and to encourage Linux-IL subscribers to mention it in
their personal home pages. The idea is to make it easy to people who are
already a bit interested to find the site. Not to waste time and nerves
luring novelty-seeking Web surfers.
