b10 is already available, and I'm not sure 1.2 is closer than ever.

But anyway, since 2.0 is the real thing, with multi threading support
and many ambitious features, and expected deadline of 2Q ('97), why we
should bother. Although I think that on 2000 we will still have a 1.1.28
version (including hundreds of security bug fixes) + 1.2b39 (but really
really dedicate of the final version) and no 2.0   :-(

By the way: I think that nobody modifies the home page of Apache
regarding to new beta's;  It is done automatically by a cron software
that increment the version number once per couple of days  :-)
