Can you help upgrading the kernel ?

I tried to upgrade from 1.2.13 to 2.0.12.
Some of my problems are:

1) ls /usr/src/linux/modules
   NET_MISC_MODULES NET_MODULES bsd_comp.o
   more /usr/src/linux/modules/NET_MISC_MODULES
   ipv4.o

Where is this ipv4 ? What is its importnace ?

2) Apr 12 21:45:04 rakefet kernel: Warning : Unknown PCI device
(8086:7030).
   Please read include/linux/pci.h.

It is either my svga card or
	        ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14 or
	        ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
(which is hdc: ACER CD-787E/JAS, ATAPI CDROM drive)
Did some of you encountered such a problem ?

3) When I reboot, I am getting lots of lines like:
   INIT: error reading initrequest
and between these lines there are other error messages that I can't
see.

Are these messages being logged some where ? And if not, how can I log
them
so that I will be able see all of them ?
And another logging question: I was not been able to locate the messages
that
are being printed on the console when the inittab scripts start to run.
Aren't
them suposed to be logged in /var/log/something ? And if not, how can I
log
them ?

4) I didn't succeed in changing my RH picaso rc.d scripts so that
they'll
bring up the system with the new kernel the way the old kernel did.
Can you
email me the scripts that RH gives with their newest distributions
   (4 or 4.1) ?

5) Can you email me /usr/src/linux/.config of a "simple" machine (586 +
eide hard

disk + ATAPI cdrom + pci svga card) with kernel 2.0.x ? Perhaps I'll
be able
to conclude from it what pieces of the kernel I havn't put in place.

6) I ignored the kernel configuration script warning about some dsp
device. Is it
important ? Is there anybody else that saw this warning ?

	Thank you.
