In the US you can marry at 18, have kids at 18, vote for President and
Congress at 18. You have to wait till 21 to legally buy a can of beer though.
Never ceased to baffle this "alien" (well, I'm not one any more).
So Viki will soon be upgraded to a legal beer-drinking status indeed.
Now there are 2 proposed dates, 2 proposed cities for the dinner. My
personal preference is TA on June 12. An on topic remark: I don't keep
kosher myself, but I respect people who are serious about it. Is the
momentary pleasure of a steak in cream sauce worth forcing several
people to stay away from the dinner AND the converstaion? Especially
considering attendance was not great the last few times, as far as I
understand. A place serving drinks (non-alcoholic for health-minded and
law-abiding minors) could be a good idea. After all, the gathering is
at least as much for communication and converstaion as for gastronomical
delights, or am I wrong? I am sure ILUG members can appreciate fine
liquor as well as 3-line programs that kill NT ;-)
