The Idea is not to support netscape because it is in compitition with microsoft,
but to support JAVE which shuld run on all platforms, so i could choose which
comuter i like ( doesn't have to be x86 ) and which OS i like ( which is unix for me )

if all will be written in java, any aplication which runs on MS-win will run on linux.

Well, with all due respect Java is only a partial, if any, solution to the problem. For one point, Java apps are a great deal slower than program written in C or other compiled languages specifically for a particular OS and/or machine. Secondly, Java apps are usually unable to use the functionality which is specific to the particular platoform they run on. Thirdly, Java still has a pretty limited API and adding _compiled_ drivers to every OS that support it will take quite some time.

Last, and it is a pretty weak excuse but still a good one, when compared to C++ or perl, Java is not my language of choice. If someone could have made it possible to generate a compiled Java code out of a program written in some other language - that would have been a bit more helpful.

To sum up, Java could be a useful tool in battling Software dominancy, but it is not, and it is possible that it may never be, the complete solution.
