FreeBSD is using a.out, (Net|Open)BSD I think use elf on some platforms.
FreeBSD has very developed Linux emulator which is able to run Linux
application like Linux Netscape and Linux Quake. FreeBSD is also able to
run SCO and other BSD binaries.
AFAIK Linux is not able to run BSD binaries.
