The command line I used is, as described in FAQ.TXT:
loadlin zimage rw root=/dev/ram initrd=color.gz load_ramdisk=1
It lead me to the same result as w/ floppies. Same result with all kernels
I used (the one I basically need is the bare.i, but I also tried a few
others). This result occurs with ANY root image i tried as well: rescue,
color, text.

Of course. And I forgot to mention that on some stage I thought my floppy
is the root of the problem, so I used my old 1.2 MB drive instead of this
one, which is 1.44 MB, with the appropriate bootdisks of course.

I have no SCSI controllers on this machine. I do have a network adapter,
but I took it off and... still no change.

The master CD might have been damaged in some way, who knows...

Should I give up and install FreeBSD? It works, but I really prefer Linux
since software for Linux is much easier to find than for FreeBSD.
