First of all I saw it as a joke and not as a flame.
I do not really understand why am I getting flamed both from *BSD
and Linux side. I use tham both, and I find both very atractive.
Try FreeBSD and you might love it. Especially as network server.
If I were chose desktop OS I'd go for Linux.

Well, from the same reason Linux has DOS/MS Windows/SCO emulator.
It meens that Linux is more popular. But if we were using popular
we would be Bill Gates friends were we?

*BSD run on every platform I can ever imagine.
NetBSD runs on: i386, DEC Alpha, Amiga, Atari, HP300, mac68k, mvme68k,
       pc532, Pmax, sparc, sun3, and x68k.
FreeBSD is just a i386 port of 'popular, state of art 4.4 BSD'
Linus himself claimed a couple of years ago that he doubt that
Linux can be ported to other than i386 platform because of Linux kernlel
heavy usage in i386 specific features. Well, but miracle happend :{)

Well, as I already wrote, those pathes was advised by FreeBSD
guy. FreeBSD is better from the networking point of view, there
is no argument about it. After all TCP/IP came from *BSD, and
everyone, including mr. Gates using it.

And if we already arguing about 'what better', try to be a little
bit more open minded and try FreeBSD. I might even love it. You
do not even need to buy a CD. Just download boot.flp and use
ftp/ppp or ethernet installation. It is very easy.
