Erez, I see 2 simple solutions. One is simply to copy the configuration as
well as the kernel... It is supposed to be .config.in in the top level with
some more .config* file in some of the subdirs.
Solution 2: Have 2 source trees! You can either have a full tree, which is
not that bad - only about 30M. Or you can save space by making all the .c
and .h files be hard-links, and remove the Documentation directory, and
maybe even remove the directories under arch:
alpha/ m68k/ mips/ ppc/ sparc/ sparc64/
and under /usr/src/linux/include:
asm-alpha/ asm-mips/ asm-sparc/
asm-m68k/ asm-ppc/ asm-sparc64/
All these directories amount to several megs which you probably don't need.
