Why is it? If it is good (which I doubt very much), it deserves success
and Netscape deserves to loose, for all neglecting that it showed towards
UNIX, and Linux particullary, users. And if it would suck (which I think
will be the case, without backing from the Windows, that really has very
much of what is said to be MSIE features) - what one has to fear?
Aside of that, UNIX was never Microsoft's market, AFAIK, and will not be
at least until it would make descent UNIX system - and they are not so
silly as to compete with themselves.
MSIE for UNIX was made for one particular purpose, IMHO, - to
prove that it can stand on it's own legs without backing of Windows (why
they need it just now, when they are trying to prove to DOJ that MSIE is
a part of Windows - remains a big question to me. Looks like
discoordination between departments ;). It's much of "prove of concept"
or "we-too-can-do-it".
And again - if it, against all my expectations, would be good - I am first
to vote for it. And if they make working (not like Netscape) version for
Linux (which I doubt twice as much) - I vote with both hands and both feet
;).
Oh, and sorry for being a little off-topic ;).
