The main problem I see is that in most cases the product 'xxx' is supported
under Linux
not because its manufacturer cares about the Linux community, but just because
someone
did the manufacturer's job and wrote a Linux driver. Many of those
manufacturers clearly
state they only support MS *. Such mails would probably make more sense if
there were companies
who actually provided Linux drivers for their hardware. Though I guess they
could still make
some sense in cases where a piece of hardware is not supported because its
manufacturer
refuses to disclose technical details necessary for writing a driver.
