Willows MS-Windows library is now GPLed!
Yes, the willows code is now under GPL!
The willows site is under construction, but check
http://www.willows.com/wrelease.html for more details.
Thw Willows software (for those who don't know it) is a library that allows
compiling MS-Windows source code on Unix/X (like Wine, but more complete, and
until now was commercial). Full source code is available ofcourse.
Until now, Willows source code was available, but only for non-commercial
work. Now the software is under the GNU Program License.
I guess this will help the WINE project enourmously (or put the nails on its
coffin, depending how you look at it). Actually the WINE project is more into
writing a Windows emulator, while WILLOWS are more towards writing a Windows
library (even though both projects can do both tasks).
