The following note relates to FREE server software, and a Linux friend
suggested that I post here. I hope that it is acceptable to post this
announcement on this newsgroup. Thank you for your tolerance.
Progressive Networks, the company which created the RealAudio and
RealVideo streaming media products, has now made the EasyStart server
available for free download. Not shareware, not evaluation-only. Full
server.
The server is a 60-stream (T1 bandwidth) streaming media server, capable
of delivering both audio and video, on-demand or live broadcast.
It is not an evaluation-only or beta server it is fully functional and
has no time-bomb.
Supported platforms include LINUX 2.0.30, FreeBSD 2.1.6 or 2.2.1, SunOS
4.1.4, 5.5.1 (Solaris 2.5), Irix 5.3 or 6.2, HP/UX 10.01, Digital Unix
3.2, AIX 4.1, BSDI 2.0, and Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0
