This is not a real problem with MS-Word, because it can save files in a 
variety of formats.  In particular, it should not be a too big deal to 
convert from TeX to RTF format and vice versa (even though I don't know 
if a filter was constructed for this purpose).

(Except, of course, for documents which link or embed other documents 
using OLE technology.)
