HP 660 lpr help (was: Re: HELP!)
DISCLAIMER: my response is based upon Slackware 3.0.
1. Install the package 'lpr' (the tool is /sbin/pkgtool unless things
changed between 3.0 and 3.4).
2. When printing Unix text files to the printer, don't forget to insert
the command 'todos' into the pipe (this command converts line ends from
Unix ones into MS-DOS ones).
3. Don't forget to read the Printing-HOWTO and Printing-Usage-HOWTO
(should be available in /usr/doc/faq/howto directory).
I myself use the HP 660C printer under Linux (and it also acts as a
printer server to my home network under SAMBA).
