what do you mean by autoboot?! letting LILO boot the startup floppy
without parameters?

hides in /boot, but all the modules are separate. you might want to
compile a new kernel.

go into X, run the runlevel editor and disable them, or go into
/etc/rc.d/<runlevel> and make them dotfiles

I know, it IS annoying... you name the machine the first time and it shuts
up... or dive into sendmail.cf and shorten the timeout.

all done through the X interface... or just go into
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ and create the files manually.
example, to define an eth0 card and address, go into that directory and
make a file called ifcfg-eth0 and in it something like this:

#!/bin/sh

#>>>Device type: ethernet

#>>>Variable declarations:
DEVICE=eth0
IPADDR=192.115.117.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.115.117.0
BROADCAST=192.115.117.255
#GATEWAY=192.115.117.1
ONBOOT=yes
MTU=1500
#>>>End variable declarations

you can also define aliases, framerelay interfaces (in my case) dummy
devices etc.

there are only one of each - boot (usually enough) and supplumental.

what CD did you use? btw, version 4.0 or 4.1?
