either stop using Elm, or remove those weird lines from your header,
because this block at the beginning of your every single message is
driving me NUTS.

great post, full of content, 3 lines of utter uselessness in a see of
headers and footers. you win my "timewaster of the week" award.
to more serious things:
my disk has bad sectors. (that is, my client's disk... god forbid I'll
have any on my server)
fsck -c and mke2fs -c both "find" them but don't avoid them. is there any
way at all ext2 or linux on the whole can deal with bad sectors on a disk,
and tiptoe around them like DOS?
