Very impressive, but this leads me (as a newbie) to ask what might be
a silly question, so my apologies in advance. I don't want to get
into the usual **which is better** controversy, but my question is:
Once you decide which to install (Debian, Red Hat, Slackware), are
you limited to only using packages written for the distribution
you've installed ?? Can't you recompile packages for one distribution
and use them on another ??
