How right you are about this!

A good freeware WYSIWYG wordprocessor is needed.
(Amos, you told me in the dinner that emacs has WYSIWYG capabilities.
But I didn't ask you then whether it is possible to print from emacs and
retain the graphical attributes - does it have postscript backend or
whatever?)

Not necessarily. If there are killer applications for Linux (such as free
Web server, free C++ compilers, free circuit analysis software or
whatever), then can slowly encourage people to have two PCs at home,
networked together: one to run MS-Shit, and the other - to run Finnish
Gold with X-Windows goods. (This may be a silly question - but is there a
free X-Windows server which can be activated from within Windows 3.11
and/or Windows 95?)

I hope they don't lose the battle altoghether, only that they'll not be
the clearcut dominant force in the battlefield.
