So this is a door into which Linuxphiles can break.  Start working!  (And
please don't forget also us deafies, even though our needs are in several
cases opposite those of the blind.)

Yes, blind people indeed got screwed by Windows-based applications.  I 
should remember this when I feel getting screwed by voicemail, automatic 
phone response systems, computer games in which sound effects are 
indispensable for playing, etc.
