Re: ISDN recommendations

while testing I found I was satisified with the Teles PnP card
(you need the isapnp utilties to configure/inmitialise it though )
assuming you're not short of proccesor it work's fine ("dumb" card )
I had good performance on a Pentium/100
(both PPP & MPPP ) however I didn't mange to get channel bundling to work
(I think it was a problem with the answering cisco's config
it didn't bundle with Lose95 either & netcom blamed Nezeq - of course
Nezeq claims - no prob )

this was with Debian 1.31./Kernel 2.0.30/HiSax ISDN driver

as for analog uses - I don't think the driver supports fax
you could use your old faxmodem & cordless phone
connected to a ISDN NT with analog connections
(of course this cost's an extra ~800 NIS to bezeq installation )
or you could connect a serial T/A such as the Motoral Bitsurfer Pro

( connect serial @ 115Kb/sec + two anaolog poert which you can confugre
from Lose95 with thier prog - or learn the AT commads for it )
(hoever with this solution I found a single TCP stream wouldn't fill the
64K pipe - although dual stream in parrallel could )

another possibilty which I did't check is a T/A from Zyxel

(can connect to 2 computer ) - serial port up to 460 Kb/sec
+ analog + builtin fax/modem/answering machine ( which can recieve fax and
voicemail - without the computer doing anything - it can even print
incoming faxed directly to it's own printer port )

ZyXel ( with FAX & analog modem ) is rather expensive though ...
