can't load libX<??>.so.6
Hi folks,
It's Michael again. I'm the one who asked for help with
my corrupted superblock the other day.
Thanks for all your fine suggestions; I certainly have
learned alot, but unfortunately none of the suggestions
worked.
Anyway, that's pretty much behind me. I decided to forgo
what's on that disk and simply update linux on my spare
disk.
This is a disk which has had linux installed at some
earlier time, a different version of linux. (I'm now
running Slackware '96; the version I get when I log
in is 2.0.0)
I installed X, but when I try to run any x application
(xterm, xdm, xroach, etc.) I get either "Can't load library
`libXt.so.6'" or "Can't load library `libX11.so.6'"
I'm sure the problem here is crossed revs but I don't
know what I need to install.
I did not install any of the x servers because they are
all meant for someone using a PC as an x terminal, and
I don't do that - I use an NCD x terminal. I know this
works as I've done it in the past.
Any ideas?
Michael Shiloh
