k6 is much cheaper and gives approx the same preformance under bug95 but under
winNT PII tends to be somewhat better if you have got more than 32Mb. I guess
comparing Linux to NT gives you a better measure.

however , it's fp unit is different ie it calculates a given task in shorter
time while it can preform only one calculation at a time while PII can do two.

so if you have got much more integer calculation k6 is better.
if you have a large memory arrays but under 64Mb you better have a k6 with 64k
l1   cache or if you have money a ppro with 512k l1 cache.
if you use a lot of fp calculations in most cases you better use PII unless
your calculations depend on each over (x*x*x*x) .

the best way is to check your programs .

if this helps send me a source code (+ makefile) , I'll time it for you under
K6/225 (75x3) make sure it something less than say an hour and opp is simple.
