cdda2wav was there way before the DOS equivalents started sprouting
out.. search for it. From my personal experience, it is also better than
the DOS programs. You may need to play around with the code a bit to get
it to work with non-SCSI drives (at least I had to, to make it work
on my Matsushita/Kotobuki (Panasonic) CR-563 which is ATAPI.
