RH 4.0 is buggy - should I convert to RH 4.1?
I have installed the RedHat 4.0 on my computer at home and started devleloping on it. Meanwhile, I discovered that it has some bugs which I described on this mailing list:
1. It takes sendmail a long time to initiate as a daemon and a long time to send a letter as a SMTP client.
2. Talk won't work, whether as a client or as a server.
Later I received a RedHat 4.1 distribution and installed it on another computer. I quickly realized that those two bugs are non-existent in it: sendmail is lightning fast and talk is fully functional. The question now remains: should I try to upgrade to RH 4.1 or to somehow solve the problems on 4.0. Whatever I added to Linux takes about 2 megs and since I have an extra hard disk It won't be a problem to recreate it.
Otherwise, would the upgrade do the trick or should I just reformat the partition and reinstall.
Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
