RE: Computax 97 & TechInstaParty II

So what's the deal with that Computax? If I decide to become an instructor at our stand, will I gain free access to the other stands, or do I even have to pay to enter the Linux stand.

Maybe we should "brain-storm" for ideas about how to demonstrate the power of Linux there. Regarding the report on the web-site, surely no one will want to install Linux just to run DOSemu or to play doom. On the other hand, the purely Linux-stuff (Internet serving, multi-user stuff, database serving, scientific applications) may not appeal to the common visitor.

I thought about establishing our own little network there and let users edit their own web pages on one computer and see the result in another. Maybe we should get Netscape Nav Gold or something like that. Another option is maybe a combination of scilab, xfractint, mpeg and stuff like that. Are there any multimedia "demos" for the Linux environment? The are lots for the Amiga, and also for DOS ("The Future Crew" for instance). Those demos present graphics that is generated at run-time and therefor consume more CPU than standard animation like AVI, FLI or mpeg.
