We got ours from Advice electronics - two 1.5kva units each of which
we kept 3 computers on (each with 17" monitors on them). We were
never especially happy with them. It seemed that often one or two of
the three computers would reboot when the power failed, and twice we
had a monitor fry when the power went out.
Now we have a 5kva Best - a huge thing with an rs232 port that you can
connect to and give the ups commands (i.e. - start up kermit on the
serial port & type commands at the ups). We have about a dozen
computers and 3 dozen monitors on it. It also comes with a manual,
unix software (the source code) for controlling it, etc. They were
also very helpful on the phone (I called to London long distance).
I'd suggest *not* buying an Advice unit. The Best UPS has performed
fine, and the company is helpful, so they're a better bet.
Good luck,
