I went to linux in the first place because Windows takes to much
overhead for this
and i could run linux without the gui (which i cant with windows)
for short: it was worse with windows.

the problem with dos: i couldnt cause any program to identify my
soundcard
( is it because it is PnP ? ). anyway I couldnt find my hands and legs
while looking
in Creative-labs site for sb16PnP drivers.

No, I connected it to the right place ( the same problems occured when i
recorded from my cd-rom )
and even if i did put it in the wrong jack, it wouldn't cause this kind
of sound-skipping problems.
except missing ~ 1/10 of a second every a few seconds, it realy sounded
cd-qulity.
