yes. some guy in the USA got a trademark for the word "linux" for an
operating system. he's a USA citizen, and he got some organizations (linux
journal, red hat software, etc..) to file a request to cancel this
registration, after his lawyer sent them letters saying they should pass
ome percent of their linux-based income to him, as 'royalties'.
