Bugger SONY with that, they are responsible for the 1st three. The Rock
Ridge stuff is discussed in one of the CD HOWTOS in the LDP. My
suggestion: cd to the /usr/doc/faq/howtos and grep with confidence. There
is also zgrep that can handle the squeezed versions.

There is a newsgroup that deals with technicalities of this kind. Search.

The last time I had to have this info, I dug out a couple of electronics
magazines that explained that and many other things you don't want to
know.
