I have a student version 4.2. IMO, only the word processor's worth the money
paid.
Graphics is catastrofically slow on some patterns with non-8bit X servers and I
was able to make it segfault after not that long plays around.
Spreadsheet isn't usable for more than few dozens of cells except you have
*plenty* of RAM. Trying to plot (X,Y) of length ~300 makes it cry "out of
memory" on a 96MB (RAM + swap) box. And no way to cancel the operation except
kill the app.
Mailer is primitive and buggy. For example, it replies to "From\ " instead of
"From:" header and I haven't found how to change this "feature".
I don't have any comments on their Builder, since haven't used it.
Probably some of the bugs are fixed in 4.3.
So, you pay $75 (if you're a student) and get a middle-hand wordprocessor which
let you read MS documents when there is a need (you can't teach all your friends
at once that there is nothing better that TeX). Thus you can erase your DOS
partitions and use them for Linux. If the disk space freed costs >= $75, you've
gained something (I did).
Regards,
Evgeny
