Re: Remote Admin.

Thanks for all the info about remote admin.!

Anyway, to add n clarify a bit:

0. Another server is out of question at the moment. Sigh. OTOH, the
server is running on pure, unadulterated free software - in other words,
reliable software :)

1. The server will have a modem so I can dial in, probabely set up to
enable PPP connections.

2. I will burn a CD with the complete root system + RPMs for
reinstallation once I've set the server up, and have someone there boot
it off that in case of total failure. Diskettes are both too small and
too unreliable. I prob. will use them as suggested here with kernels
only to boot off the second root sytsem if the other fails.

3. Mirroring filesystems - the root with system, binaries etc. I'll
mirror using this "reflect" script manually, since only a few binaries
and config files will change at a time, and if I screw those up I do NOT
want both root systems screwd up. (the "reflect" script - a better
version than sunsite one, is at http://www.jrd.com/mirror.html). The web
files will either be mirrored using the "reflect" script in a crontab,
or software RAID mirroring.

Next issue: secure admin.. This one is worrying me a bit more, since I
think that unfortanutely I may have to allow root access from one other
IP at least, and I don't like that at all.
