RedHat 5.0 installation
Hi people
I downloaded it over a modem: (3 days 28800)
tango.ctltek.co.il
/pub/linux/distributions/redhat/redhat-5.0/i386
then I copied the whole i386 tree to the target machine's hda1
(FAT16/nt).
When it came to processing RPMs, installer broke down saying wierd stuff
like 'format 5 not supported etc...'..
I thought it does not find RPMs, but it does, because if I specify a
wrong path, it would say Cannot find RPMs.
Then I checked the overall amount of space occupied by RPM files,
compared it to my download, and found
them identical. All available Internet is dialup over modems.
I still think I've mis-downloaded some files.
Wanted: Good CD (prefered bootable) with RedHat 5.0
Does anybody sell those CDs?
The best would be if somebody in Tel-Aviv agrees to borrow his RH5 CD
for one day,
I'd make a copy for myself and another one for that person, if he cares.
(I have CD-writer at work)
Thanks so much and sorry for possible offtopic.
