Pure ISO96660 is 8.3.
Linux use Rock Ridge extensions (-r/-R on the mkisofs) for the needed staff long
file name owner,mod etc...

NT does not support Rock Ridge to my knowledge, it has the Juliet extensions.
I know Linux can read Juliet, but Juliet does not have all the Data Linux needs.
When you make the Rock Ridge disc, it makes translation tables from the 8.3
names to the Long names.
NT does not use this translation tables, you will see all the files in the 8.3
format when viewed with Windos.
