I seem to be saying this a lot, but I really recommend FTE. It's a great
general-purpose editor that features multiple large files, folding, and
syntax hilighting. It has lots of modes built-in, including c, perl,
java, sh, TeX, and - to the point - HTML. It does neat things like putting
tags around selections, and it has pull down menus with hotkeys so it's
both easy to use before you know all the bindings "by finger", but also
fast to get good at.

It does *not* have "high-level" html-specific functions, though: it won't
measure your images for you, nor launch netscape. The latter doesn't look
like anoying to me; just save your doc and update the netscape page. The
flexibility of X makes up for less integration easily in this case.

As for "autosizing", it should be programmable as a macro, I never gave
it too much thought but perhaps I'll do it if I have time (in which case
I'll be sure to let y'all know).
