Well, the below-mentioned one has almost nothing to do with development
environments (or capabilities of Linux as an OS ;), but anyway...
I would like to recommend you the Linux Google:
http://google.stanford.edu/linux
Seems to be very good search engine for searching Linux things, much more
clean than AV or Hotbot.

I don't think OLE would be of much use for you on Linux, since OLE is a
basic component of Win32 systems, so I don't see how you would use it on
Linux.
But, you may take look on:
http://www.sagus.com/prod-i~1/net-comp/dcom/index.htm
which seems to be DCOM implementation, supporting Linux.
Note the ~1 in the name. That's what you get for using certaing products
claming to have extend~1 long filena~1 support. And for hiring cheap guys,
claiming to be NT admins.
Also, you may look into CDE or GNOME. They both are targeted to the close
set of goals as OLE.
> 4) OLE DB/ODBC
Almost every DB server on Linux has an ODBC driver. Also, there are a
number of ODBC libraries.
I'm not sure what is OLE DB, so I say nothing about it.
> 5) ADO
Also don't know what it is. Did you consider joining TLA Lovers
Association (aka TLA)? ;)
