Why don't you do this yourself and use dejanews? (this is NOT intended to you,
Peter! It's intended for the original poster).

Well, after being challanged here, I have to respond!
I assume you mean thw W89C940F chip.
A general description is in:
http://www.winbond.com.tw/produ/datac.htm#e
And the actual data sheet is in:
http://www.winbond.com.tw/script/appli.dll?PRODUCT=W89C940F&GROUP=DATA_COMMUNICATION
As for the drivers, This is what I have found in dejanews:
http://x8.dejanews.com/getdoc.xp?AN=388454918
http://x8.dejanews.com/getdoc.xp?AN=392421861
Summary: It's NE2000 compatible. You have to enable a special flag in the
Kernel (I assume you have to recompile) which can be used to default unknown
PCI network controllers to be NE2000 compatible.
BTW, The information was found using the Israeli Mirror of the Chip Directory,
which is located at:
http://physics.technion.ac.il/~rutman/chipdir
