It seems much better then sendmail, both in terms of speed and security
but then again we're rather mdeium on mail traffic.

Note though that by default Qmail saves mail to a users $HOME and not
/var/spool/mail. This is safer but also means you have to get program
that support that - but I found this to be rather easy.

Qmail is an SMTP server, like Sendmail (MTA I believe they are called -
am i right?) It doesn't have (almost) anything to do with POP3 (or IMAP)
etc. which is a different program.

Try Qpopper for a good POP3 server.
