[svlug] (fwd) vi vs. emacs: decided (fwd)

if you don't read slashdot, here's an item: at the Linux Expo this week
they had a paintball war between VI and Emacs people, guess who won? (I
don't care, I use PICO)

Subject: [svlug] (fwd) vi vs. emacs: decided

At the Linux Expo this week, the eternal question of which
editor is objectively superior was, at last, decided.

vi trounced emacs, 3-1, in a four-game paintball match.
Apparently the emacs users were so confused by the simple
nature of their paintball equipment, or were so stricken by
carpal tunnel syndrome, that the field management took pity
on them for the fourth game and had them surround the
vi home base before the whistle blew to start.

Rumors that emacs really lost because their guns took 5
minutes to load, weighed 500 lbs, included an undecipherable
and outmoded built-in scripting language, and had 19 different
modifier keys next to the trigger were deemed baseless.

Commented one grinning vi user, ":%s/emacs/lunchmeat/g, baby!"
