Installation party and PF1
Hi,
Well, ofcourse, Linux installation parties is more than welcome to
promote Linux in Israel.
As for PF1 - I'm a bit skeptical, and allow me to explain:
1. PF1 sells Linux in Israel at a quite stiff price (~300 NIS), but I
don't see any promotion of Linux in the media. As a person who works
with business customers at ISDN Net who needs to recommend to clients a
web/mail/ftp solution I am *forced* to recommend NT, but I know for sure
that PF1 and specially the Linux OS can do the same job with much more
reliable operation on a modest hardware and minimum maintenance, not
mentioning stablity. So PF1 - hello? are you alive? how about more 1
page full colour advertisement?? how about a good mirror ftp in Israel?
2. I really don't see how PF1 can help besides sponsoring? what are
they're going to do? to charge each client for ~300 NIS for
installations?
I trully hope that Linux of PF1 won't get the same treatment as Netscape
with the Hebrew issue (when was the last time you've seen Hebrew on
Netscape menu's?)
