Well, I guess it can be done, but...
There is a certain limit to how much faster you can get with imitating
exactly the same concept. It's simply very expensive to emulate the whole
processor in software, under another running OS. 
An independent micro-kernel running under everything is the way to go if
you really want to get reasonable performance. 
On the other hand, I'm no expert in these subjects, so we better ask for 
the opinion of someone more knowledgable about it.

Anyone willing to enlight us?!
