The rawrite (2.0 I believe) that is on Debian ftp works (it should be
under /???/???/disks or something like that. You can check it at their
website www.debian.org - installation instructions.) very well with 1.2MB
floppies. If you have a working linux machine you can
compile the kernel to a formatted diskette, and then do rdev to change it
to your root disk. You can also install LILO so you will be able to boot
without a boot-diskette.
