RH loads all the modules it can load while booting. It has probably
recognized your card and won't let you install it again. This is done in
the init scripts for sound cards. If you want it out of there, enter the
scripts and find where the sound modules are turned on. It may be kerneld
that does this, or something else. Please let me know, I haven't seen the
newer RH setup as I haven't installed it (I haven't got the disk yet to
be honest).

To remove it when it is already in, stop kerneld, and then remove the
module. Then you can reinsert it if you want to play. I wouldn't if I were
you. Sound cards are among the miracles that work with prayers only on
PCs running Linux, imho.
