ISDN.Net connection

Hi there,

Here is the progress report for all who uses Linux and want to connecto
to ISDN.Net:

For those who got the modem from our company (I'm talking about the ISA
card version), the modem is an ASUSCOM and it's plug and play - it seems
that the modem is not included in the 2.0.33 kernel (as far as I know -
it's on the 2.1.9x kernels), you can download isdn4linux from various
ftp mirrors. Please read the README file for installing it. You'll also
need to download from the same place the isdn-utils package, compile and
installing it.

As for those PCI modems who uses the TJ300 chipset (Tiger Jet), I
haven't found any information, and the company who makes them doesn't
even want to release information under NDA!!!, so I'm hoping to see a
driver is made by someone else...

As for all of you who currently does uses ISDN modems and connected to
Internet Zahav (I'll kill the person who adviced me to connect to them.
Last night at 3:00 am I was trying to download some headers from THEIR
newsgroup server news.inter.net.il and the avrage speed of... 700 bps
and I'm using 33,600 analog modem - I'm waiting for nezek to install
ISDN at my house) - You can connect to us through a PAP authentication
or CHAP authentication. If you use X windows - grab the latest EZppp
program (don't have here the URL), or better - if you use KDE - then
grab the latest KiSDN program and select PAP or CHAP based connection.

About phone number to dial - you can connect for the next few days with
the same number (9277777), but starting this week, you'll be able to
dial to a five digit phone number (I cannot tell you the number yet),
and you'll be charged for the LOCAL CALL ONLY (and I'm not talking about
"local" call from Bat-yam to Ramat gan which bezeq makes you pay for
REGIONAL fees). What about the extra payment from you (even if you're
located at Beer Sheva and u call us at Petach Tikva)? - we pay the rest
automaticly. Now - any other ISP would like to try to match our terms?
:)

Finally, since many asked about what some technical info about our lines
to out of Israel - here is the info:

We got 2 lines out of Israel (1 T1 and 1 E1) and another T1 to IIX

Since this message is not an advertise to "come connect to our ISP" -
I'm not going to publish here phone numbers to subscribe...

Full technical information including FAQ will be published soon.

Oh, one more thing - when is the next Linux meeting? would someone care
to organize it?

Sincerely yours,

Hetz Ben Hamo
Sysadmin assistant.
