Token-Ring network
Hi.
I have a question regarding to the wiring of two token ring adapters. I
know that originally the topology of a token ring network is a ring
"logically" and a star "physically", where the "ring" is actually inside
the hub. The question is - can I in some way wire two token ring adapters
without a hub? I know that is possible for a 10BaseT Ethernet network by
using a crossed cable instead of a regular one. Is there a similar trick
for token ring?
If the answer is no - *sigh*, does anyone know how much does the simplest
token ring hub cost and where can I get it? Is it more than getting two
new Ethernet cards? Much more? (After all token ring is faster.)
Thanks.
