But your rescue disk boots? What happens when you try to
use it? You must be more specific, with commands you tried
and messages you got...

There isn't, because Linux does not use the faulty PC BIOSes.
But you can't boot a root filesystem if your BIOS can't
see it, just as with Windows. When you boot, you can see everything.
