Re: [svlug] Cobalt Microserver is it worth it? (fwd)

people on SVlug are evaluating Cobalt Microserver's Qube
(http://www.cobaltmicro.com)

for the clueless: it's a closed cube (colored cobalt) running Linux on
MIPS and managed through a web interface. a turnkey system that does web,
mail, web caching, NFS, SMB, Apple share and a few other cool things all
in a ~$1000 box. apperently, it's even cooler than cool :-)

Well, I just have to say that the qube is cool simply because
of this:

Over the past 3 days 23 hours 9 minutes, the network has been
moderately loaded
 [ 20% collision rate ]

The Cobalt Qube is experiencing too many network collisions. This
problem can be caused by improper network wiring, but is more likely
due to heavy network traffic. Consider using a switched hub to reduce
the amount of network traffic experienced by the Cobalt Qube.
