Funny, the license specifically says it's _not_ certfied for
mission-critical applications (:
I've DLed it and it seems to be running fine on RH5, even though it's also
certified for 4.2 only. Their perl interface, IBPerl, also didn't want to
compile under linux, but it's a piece of cake to make it work.
The tests seem to run fine on a 486/66, which is about 50000 times weaker
than their minimum requirements.
I've got a big database-integrated project coming up, and I'm still trying
to decide between IB and Oracle... the NT people just spent tons of money
on a really huge PC, NT and Interbase for NT, it's fun rub that "Hey, my
version's free, including the OS!" in their faces... (:
