Re: slightly off topic: tx board with more than 64 MB



Hi,

you are right. the cacheable areo of the 430TX is only 64 MB (since
Intel wants to sell more PII). That means that if you add more each time
the CPU accesses the slow memory it will be slowed down since that
memory is not cached. -> don't do it. If you need more mem go and buy
PII (or, if you don't mind slow chipset go and buy a board with Aladdin
ALI V or IV. they support cachable area of up to 0.5 gig. I have all the
performance tables at home, if you want to look at them).
