Re: Disk mirroring and backups

I use BRU2000 in a networked environment, and I'm very satisfied with
it. It's commercial and costs some money, but gives a good value for it.
Installation and configuration is rather straightforward, and the
provided scripts for periodic scheduled backups (of different levels)
can easily be modified for your needs. The level of backup verification
is high, and although I've been fortunate enough never to real need the
backups, it seems rather reliable. It also has a reasonable GUI for
interactive and scheduled one-time backups, archive manipulation and
restoration.
The personal edition of BRU2000 (for a single workstation) is
distributed in the RH PowerTools package, and I think this (together
with other utilities in that package) makes it a best buy.

Hope this helps,

Tuvik
