I thisnk this is a pretty bad idea. Instead of creating confusion
amongst Redhat users, consider trying RedHat 5.1. If you run into
problems, report them. Remember, RedHat is not a glibc proprietor -
there are plenty mailing lists where your feedback would be welcome,
even if RedHat is slow to fix the problem.

Also note, that libc5 is not maintained anymore. H.J.Lu stated very
explicitly, that last release of it *IS* the last one.

Apart from that, remeber that libc5 is less standards-conformant and
plain unsupported on Sparcs and Alphas.
