for the workstations or for the servers?

implementing linux for WHAT? there is no limit to what linux can do, only
to what people have written to it so far. if you want to design a
spacecraft and your designers are used to autocad or some $50k CAD tat
runs only on HPUX, then Linux won't do you any good. if you need a
development environment with X, Emacs, and a good reputation for
stability, Linux is by far the first choice. I could go on for a
screenfull or more here about how I use Linux in this company
(workstations, servers and firewalls and more specifically the dozens of
uses on each).
as for support: there is the best collection of dynamic and updated
documents online, better than any other OS's. There are support mailing
lists like this one and hundreds of others, more specific one (like for
specific products), and finally if you get Caldera or commercial redhat
you get support by Email. Of course, there are many people in Israel these
days that make money freelancing as sysadmins for Linux (and this list is
a good place to look for them)
