Q: "gisha yashira" for Bank Leumi
Hello everybody,
I'm about to subscribe to the aforementioned service. Honestly, I'm
quite disappointed with it, but I have no choice.
1. They *don't* use the same protocols Quicken is using so I may kiss
the idea of integrated on-line banking good-bye.
2. They make people use a special proprietary program for the service.
You may be surprised, but this program is for Windows 95 only.
Funny, but if I understood them right, it has problems running on
even Windows NT.
3. They don't want to disclose the protocol. I tried to convince the
guy I talked to, that by giving me protocol spec *they* would be
able to cover bigger market, 'cause I'd start a project for
integrating this protocol into GnuCash, but they seem not to care.
Thus, questions follow:
1. Does anybody have any idea what the protocol is? I believe it is
not OFX (http://www.ofx.net), but maybe I am wrong? Does anybody
have a buddy (better still, a girlfriend) at the "Gisha Yashira"
dept? AFAIS, the fact they don't give away the protocol is not
because there is an explicit written policy of keeping it
confidential, but because people I talked to thought they
shouldn't. So it may be the case of finding the right guy
(preferably using Linux :-)
2. Does anybody know a decent serial port/modem sniffer for Windows
95?
Thanks in advance,
