Sorry for barging into this otherwise fascinating thread, I was too
excited by the contents to follow all its undulations...
Do you really think the above question is an interesting one?!
Linux is not supposed, nor trying to provide a solution for any possible
need. Moreover, as experience shows, the attempt to do that often leads to
rather mediocre results. Linux has many advantages. Windows have some of
its own (few, and badly implemented, but rather powerful ones).
Linux is currently not suited for international office use. I seriously
doubt if it will ever be, but something that will be might eventually
sprout out of the linux community. Meanwhile, if you are looking for an
all-encompassing solution, you'll have to compromise quality and go for
MS.
Just to remind you - YOU DON'T HAVE TO! Heterogeneity has many pluses, in
the office environment as well s outside it.
