[Q]: Split, move and restore files crossplatform
Hi,
I wonder how to split files bigger than diskette's capacity in order to be
moved and restored on a different PLATFORM . I know how to do it on
DOS/WIN with whatever arj/zip/other. Or on Unix with binary split(1) or
tar(1)/cpio(1).
But what if I need to move a big file from Unix/Linux -> DOS/WIN and vice
versa? There is no zip by volumes on Unixes and zipsplit doesn't handle
big files. I would think about tar(1)/cpio(1) with Volumes but then
there is no DOS/WIN application that is able to restore the files.
Probably I should look into the ports of tar/cpio for DOS/WIN...
Any ways to split->move->restore files crossplatform?
Any ideas?
Thank you!
