Now, THIS is exactly the problem I had referred to when I had said that
Red Hat has too many features out of the box and that it is more confusing
to set up than simpler (i.e. more spartan) setup-ed Slackware.

imho this one belong in the FAQ on linux-il. I don't remember seeing a
reference to it (I guess I'd have to read the Makwfile in the kernel for
that).
