Ctrl-Alt-Del

Of course, the proper way to shut down is to chose Shut Down from the
desktop menu. But unfortunately, sometimes Ctrl-Alt-Del is necessary.
On my WARP 3 machine, I used to get a little ble window saying the
machine is re-booting. For some reason that window stopped appearing
a long time ago. A few days ago, I made a silly mistake choosing the
wrong screen resolution, and ended up restoring from tape backup.
Strangely enough the next time I used Ctrl-Alt-Del, the little blue
**re-booting** window appeared. I was curios, so I tried Ctrl-Alt-Del
a few times even though it wasn't necessary and the window was still
there. But after a few days (and I've made no changes to my system),
the window disappeared again, and Ctrl-Alt-Del now causes an
immediate boot. BTW, on rebooting after **not** seeing this window,
of course chkdsk scans the entire disk as it does after a power
failure, etc.

Anyone know what's going on here ???
