Truth, I tried it on my box, I've got:
"/etc/termcap", line 398, col 39, terminal 'ansi.sys-old': Illegal
character (expected alphanumeri
c or @%&*!#) - ';' = 0x3b
And then the whole termcap was pushed on the screen (mine is 9.12.0)
I've never used tic,

My advise is to try to browse www.dejanews.com -- it might definitely help
