the backup is used olny when there are routing problems ( I should know I
fix them :)
Mb is Megabit 
MB is MegaByte

you don't need to have to be with CC - just to have a comp connected to
the LAN 
but the only place you can have a say in allocation ( other than voluntary
) is Weizmann(dept or CC) resources or MACHBA wide ( in which your CC has
a say )
since linux is usefull in the academica context - you may want to make (
via whatever channels are need ) a formal request that your CC ( or dept
or ?? ) support linux

once the casue was localised this was done ) only 10 IIX users ) still
it's not so simple & ther're political problem involved
(such as MACHBA ppl using ISP mirros & such )
