just in case you people haven't bumped into it yet, there is a collection
of very useful images at ftp://ftp.varesearch.com/pub/emergency_floppies/

one floppy boots and creates a root in the ram. includes drivers for all
popular controllers and networking stuff, you get access to your local
disk, even Vfat. I actually use it for diagnostics and once in a while to
backup a win95 partition across the net with tar...
