I'm sorry to inform you that the CyrixP166 and the Intel's Pentium
200MMX give almost the same performance. Tests that were conducted by most
magazines came to the conclusion that the CyrixP166 in some cases out does
the Pentium 200.
In anycase, if you are kind of short on cash, and can't afford a P-II
I'd suggest moving to an AMD K6-233, gives out performance that is
comparable to a P-II.
About your Video Accelerator, the Stealth 3D is a great card, but it's
price isn't worth while. I belive that for most applications, that run
with Linux (X-Windows), a fast 2D card will do just fine, Or if you really
want that 3D acceleration for Winblowz too, I'd suggest using either an
ATI-Rage II/Rage II Pro or a 3dfx compatible. I know that the Rage II
based accelerators work OK both with XFree86 and MetroX.
