Globes on Linux
Hi,
For those who didn't see - here are some articles on Linux in the Globes (Hebrew
online edition)
First - titled: "Your next O.S.?"
http://www.globes.co.il/Hebrew/cgi-bin/Serve/pages/Hebrew/1.6.1.1
Then, this article (BADLY translated from Forbes magazine).
He talks about Linux, then his experiment of installing Linux from Slackware &
Redhat. He mentions the hard configuration of X windows with SLACKWARE (gee,
thank god he didn't install Debian 1.x - then he would curse himself - why he
didn't just run Xconfigutator? good question).
The translation is very poor (did u hear about TSP/IP? Another bad translation
"Redhat comes with a CD that you can turn down your computer" - maybe he means
"A bootable CD"?
http://www.globes.co.il/Hebrew/cgi-bin/Serve/pages/Hebrew/1.6.1.2
Another one - Recycled PC 486 + Linux = Network computer (and I thought that
Linux + 486 could be email, web, dns server and running fast - but thats his
opinion)
http://www.globes.co.il/Hebrew/cgi-bin/Serve/pages/Hebrew/1.6.1.3
"More scared than Netscape" (linux? scared?)
http://www.globes.co.il/Hebrew/cgi-bin/Serve/pages/Hebrew/1.6.1.4
Looks like PF1 getting really serious about Linux (FINALLY!!)
Looks like their selling commercial support for Linux (point your boss to it!),
and some other interesting solutions based on Linux (15,000$ solution??)
http://www.globes.co.il/Hebrew/cgi-bin/Serve/pages/Hebrew/1.6.1.6
And finally, "Financing from Intel, recognition from Netscape"
http://www.globes.co.il/Hebrew/cgi-bin/Serve/pages/Hebrew/1.6.1.5
Finally, Globes publishes few articles regarding Linux, which until yesterday
they almost ignored it all the times.
I wonder when Yedioth Ahronoth will publish some info regarding Linux (and other
Israeli newspapers will also?)
