pmfji, but I have to say 3 words here:

Both of you use servers connected to the internet (directly). I dont. For
those who don't, qmail is not an option, because the header
rewriting/masquerading required to make it work with multiple ISPs on a
dialup line (in both directions) is simply not available. Correct me if
I'm wrong.

It took me about 2 months of tinkering to make sendmail run 'perfectly' in
this mode, and I wish it was more like procmail than like sendmail,
however, there is a book (I&O, ps/dvi format in the distrib docs), and it
is not far worse than other things I've read about software and
computers <g>. 

So, sendmail works for stand-alone machines that connect to two ISPs over
dialup, and occasionally do UUCP. Actually, the key to sendmail operations
is a correct DNS/named setup ;)
