Well, I heard of some guy who added a STREAMS (two way filesystem-based 
named pipes, AFAIK) patch to the Linux kernel, and probably to the ext2fs
as well. I could work on a nice, updateable patch as soon as I get a
decent computer, and large-enough hard-disk. I'll have to scan the specs
for everything that mentions them to see what is still needed to be
implemented.

Did anybody hear of anybody who is already working on it?
