Re: ISDN.Net and Linux

Hi Hetz.

well, concerning connecting to any ISP with linux all you have to do is
go to http://www.lrz-muenchen.de/~ui161ab/www/isdn/ and click the german
flag (it changes to english) and then click on the ISDN faq

it takes about 30-60 mins of RTFMing, but then again us linux ppl arent
afraid of manuals, are we now? and it works like charm.
all the relvant scripts are there.
I connected to ISDN-NET and to my NV account with it.

i just havent figured out the 128K 2-channel bundling part - how to do it
yet.

I think putting that whole faq on our site is a good idea - i just dont
know the procedure - do we need to ask permission or just copy-paste the
whole thing and locally host it? it would save us all a lot of
question-answering.

and 1 more thing.
there are many Teles 16.3c PnP ISDN cards around, because thats whats the
importer (citicom) brings us. they are supported from kernel 2.0.33 along
with the ISDN4LINUX latest pach (also supports Fritz! cards for whoever
has one of them) and of course the ISAPNP since its a pnp card. this
caused a lot of misunderstandings because there are about 5 totally
differenty teles cards with an almost similar name (16.3a/b, 16.3,
16.3PnP and 16.3c PnP (DIFFERENT DRIVERS!!).
both channels are supported - i managed to make a loopback test with
minicom using one channel to dial to the other

and you need the ISDN4Kernel tools to dial.

hope this helps :)

and what exactly did u want somebody to do for a free 128K account?
(I already got a 128K account with ISDN-Net and making it free sounds good
;)

problem is the script is already there and i wasnt the one to write
it...

so guess Ill keep on paying u guys :)
