Re: Web Forum
Well, I am tired of this discussion. The only problem of Linux is
that any positive initiative, faces flames. You may invent a cute
GUI toolkit, and even give it away with its source code, but being
flamed for not permitting to change it. Instead of flaming - just
don't use QT and/or KDE (I don't use, for example). You may spend
your expensive time for developing a Windows emulator (I know that
Wine IS NOT AN EMULATOR but a toolkit ;-), and being flamed for
allowing the hated applications of Microsoft to run under Linux.
Don't want Wine? Don't use it! You may prepare Linux booths in
exhibitions, organize installation parties and/or meetings in
restaurants, etc., and being flamed. You may maintain a wonderful
project like IIX, and being flamed - by Linux users, of course.
Even Linus and Alan Cox are flamed. Nothing is perfect; Yet you
have the option not to use it.
So the same for this forum. Currently, there are only two places
which host HEBREW forums for free: IOL and ActiveTech. But it is
easier in ActiveTech. When I created the forum, I was not aware of
the "spamming" of them. Now it is done. Want it - use it; don't
want it - don't use it (as one PM said: "Yitnu - Yekablu; Lo Yitnu
- Lo Yekablu!"). You can even open your own Hebrew Linux forum.
But in any case, please don't criticize other's initiatives.
P.S. I know that it is not relevant - but while the forums of IOL
are run under NT/IIS/ASP/yuck/fuck/etc., are veeeeeeerrrry
slllllooooowwwww, and crash all the time, the forums of Activetech
are run by Apache, under an open source operating system for x86
(and thanks again to Hans, the IOS Counter, Queso, and the OS
Revealer).
