TechWeb Uncovers MS-Linux Logo
According to TechWeb (also known as CMPnet, one of the 3 leading
networks of computing news on the net), Microsoft is going to
release its own Linux distribution. It will be called "Winux",
and its logo will look like this:
http://img.cmpnet.com/tw/wire/news/1998/12/msftLinux1211.gif
(a penguin with the logo of Microsoft on its stomach).
Microsoft will "embrace and extend" Linux, and it may combine the
ability to run Win16 and Win32 applications under it, but without
any source code of Windows.
No comments are mentioned.
I am not sure that this news item is true; I think it is a
"wishful thinking" of the editors (it is funny to call such a
thing "wishful"...), or only a rumor.
Don't try to read it at slashdot or LWN; It seems that they are
too busy with their holidays...
