Sound problem
Hi All,
I have here some sort of a sound problem, hoping maybe one of you had the same
problem and could help me.
I installed here at home Redhat 5.2 Linux & I have here Sound blaster AWE64.
With the kernel that came with it (2.0.36-pre7) - I had no problem running
"sndconfig" and use the card.
However, when I upgraded the kernel to release version of 2.0.36 and wanted to
compile it, I had a problem.
In sound section, when I try to compile the SB section, it looks for IRQ, DMA
etc... which is a bit problematic since it's a f*king PnP card.
I tried to installed the latest sound patch from Redhat... Nothing helped.....
Anyone out there who had this problem and solved it?
Oh, I tried to force the parameters on the menuconfig/Xconfig - but many times
it looses the High DMA, which means it will play 1 second of the file, and then
stops..
Thanks
Hetz
