Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure what you mean here.
I ran ldd on the contents of /usr/local/bin, which was one executable file,
applix and got this result:
not a dynamic executable.
I ran ldd on the contents of /usr/local/lib/applix/bin, which again was one
executable file, applix and got the same result.

It didn't have that in it, so I added it.

The results of this were:
libX11.so.6 (ELF-libc6) => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6
libX11.so (ELF-libc6) => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so
Incidentally, I found out last night from my friend that he has applixware
4.3.7 installed on his system and not 4.3. This may be why his works and
mine doesn't. I am going to try to install his and see if this does
anything.
BTW, while we are at it, another problem I am having is the following. I
have KDE 1.0 installed. Before I do startx and go into KDE I can go back
over the past of the command line by using <shift> PageUp. But once I have
gone into KDE and then logged out of KDE I can only go up one line from the
command line using <shift> PageUp. Any ideas about this one?
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan
