	you are not right, xinit read ~/.xsession and just run what is in
it. For example I have

pland -k
#exec /usr/X11R6/bin/gnome-session
#enlightenment
#kde
#fvwm2
#afterstep
wmaker
#ctwm

:) I try too see all most popular wm's. If I want another wm I just
uncomment it and comment all others
