Big disk problem
Hi,
I have a problem with a hard disk I've just bought (4GB Western Digital
Caviar 34300 udma) and LILO. Booting computer I get "LI" on the screen
instead of the LILO prompt.
I have the following configuration: P200, SB82441FX IDE chipset,
2GB WD Caviar 23000 on ide0
(master)
CD on ide0 (slave)
4GB WD Caviar 34300 on ide1
(trouble)
1GB HP SCSI on SCSI controller.
Booting doze without LILO doesn't make any problems. Booting Linux
without LILO works fine as well. Does LILO have any problems with UDMA,
or
with disks of such size (near 8000 cyl)? I've upgraded a LILO to ver.
20.
Also I've checked this disk in the store putting it as master or slave
or single
on primary/secondary controllers, everything works just fine (checked
these
configurations on my computer without LILO as well, works fine).
If anyone knows anything about this problem, help is really appreciated.
Thanks
Regards,
Denis
