I see none of the "experts" really helped you, so try the following: when you finish the installation, the last screen (before the first boot into linux) give you the option of "use linear addressing". Check that box and see if this solves your problem. Some hard drives need linear sector addressing. That's could be the reason why "LI" appears when you try to boot.
