Do you really think that we'll loose money?
Do you really think thats just because we offer 64K for 35$ or 128K for
60$ is a "suicide act"?
Lets say like this: we're making profit. Even more then we thought at
the
beginning.
Why am I telling you this? Very simple - if we can offer our services at
these prices and WE DON'T LOOSE money about this deal - maybe this will
be
a good hint of how other ISP rip off users.
Still ain't convinced? The owner of our ISP is Koor and Telrad. Give me
one reasons for this commercial companies will pour money on "just"
another
ISP.
We also getting big discounts, either through bezeq (if you have an ISDN
line, check your
switch whats written there (who made it) - we, for example - can give it
for free to users :)
We also got some other "tricks" to save money and roll it to the user,
which means - lower prices.
Still ain't convinced? here is another example: I plan at the next
meeting of Linux-IL to annouce for a group of users a price of 50$ for
128K connection. Now I would like to see other ISP's who'll offer this
deal.
One more thing: many start-up ISP's bring 64k or 128K frame relay lines
when they begin to operate in promise to you that in a matter of weeks
they'll replace it to T1. We started with 1 T1, 1 E1 line, and another
T1 to IIX. I know that in the next few weeks we need to get another E1.
All of this in 6 months. Do you see any other ISP does it?
Another thing: Although I cannot give any details, but soon (I don't
know exactly how much), people who surf to USA sites will get it MUCH
(and I mean really much) faster access, and I can definetly say almost
the speed of a client who surfes at the states.
About Linux support, I already told in an email yesterday - Linux users
are less then 1% of users who wants to connect.
I really would like to offer Linux support (Hell, I want to erase my
fu*cing NT and 95 and stay for good with Linux), but since I don't have
much time, the procedure takes time (please read my email from
yesterday).

The prices are very high. 50,000$ (at least) for a T1 line to USA for
satellite connection. Ofcourse, if you write down all the down times
(even for a few seconds), you can get a discount, depend how really hard
you shout :)

Not exactly. True - that almost none of our tech. support does have any
knowledge of Linux, but I TRULLY try to push it. It takes time, man...

Thanks, and about the avrage user of Windowz shit, the most frequent
users goes online, surf in few pages, connect to MIRC, nudge to anyone
(some of the questions I see - "how can I crack FBI site? can u give me
Linux and I'll start cracking CIA tommorow? and other kinda shitty
question).
But the Linux users, is hardly the same as Winblows users. An avrage
users will try to get the maximum bandwidth with his connection,
download a lot and knows (most of the time) exactly whats he's doing.
He'll never asks for a support after he got his script to connect to the
ISP.
Final note: Please stop flaming ISDNnet (and me) - I'm doing my best and
I'll try to bring linux support (with your generous help) as soon as I
can. ok?
Sincerely yours,
Hetz Ben Hamo
