Re: please send me copy of linux

Hi Linux-IL subscribers,

you wondered why the order of the packages was delayed again and
again. Here comes the answer. People who were told (on the first
half of June) to send immediately their e-mail address so I can add
them to the list and to update them about the order, still contact
me, and even rule me: "This is my address. Send me a package!". Did
you ever see such a Chutzpa? So read my following answer to one of
them. His name and details were removed to avoid embarrassing him,
and he receives this message as a BCC (so you cannot see his details):
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Bokker TOV Eliyahu!

> My name is ***** ***** i talk with you on 14.7.98 and you tald me to send
> you e-mail
> and you will send me a copy of linux

But you didn't send your e-mail...
I was waiting for you, but - nothing.
Dozens of people said: "Hey, we need it, we cannot wait more!", but
I answered them: "There may be still one who didn't registered
himself". More time has passed, and they said "Why all of us should
wait because of an annoying latecommer one". They were right, but I
still waited for you. Then, on about June 23 or 24, I HAD to
announce about the order. I posted many details to the people, and
they started to order it. Although I told them to order immediately,
I thought again of you, and delayed the deadline again and again.
So on June 28-29 they were already very angry of me, and told me
that if they would order it directly, the package could be already in
their hands (they were right, of course). So I closed the order on
June 29, and ordered the packages from Cheap*Bytes, through an
express delivery. After four (4!) days it arrived in Israel, and
delayed by the tax. I freed it and posted it to the people (after
adding some stuff), and most of them (maybe all of them?) already
received it.

> and you will send me a copy of linux

No. I only told you that I would add your name + e-mail address to a
list of people that would receive announcements about what the
ordered packages contain, how to join the order, etc. After these
announcements, the people still have to decide if they want to order
it or not. I am not a Casspomat.
But again - you didn't do it. Not on June 14. Not on 15. Not on 20.
Event not on 30. Only on July 14, and even now you give me your
posting address, not your e-mail address (though I can guess it out
of your message headers).

> the address is

Your address is REALLY not interesting me. Next time, please limit
your lateness "only" to 400%, becuase this is the delay I make
especially for people like you. But this time your lateness was
about 1000%! (I wanted to order the packages on June 17, three days
after you called me, and now it is about 30 days after!)

P.S. As I told you on phone (June 14), orderers should pay the
costs (which were $10.94 per package). Maybe you thought that after
a month I would forget it. Very funny, "Hitschakta Oti!".
