Opening mac text files in XEmacs

When I open a mac text file in XEmacs (v20.3) all the line-breaks are written as
^M. I want to convert them into newlines. Searching for the ^M is easy, but I
can't figure out how to replace them with a newline.

GNU Emacs converts the file into unix text automatically, so I can use that to
convert it, but I'd rather use XEmacs.
