ISDN.Net - one more thing - think it's easy?

Hi,

I just read Ira's email and I would like to thank him for his support,
as well ofcourse as Linux-il help.

The issue is not that simple, and I'll explain:

If you're connecting through ISDN.net to Internet Zahav or to Netvision
(just an example), you could just
write your own CHAT script, compile isdn4linux utils version 2.0 or
2.1b1 (a year has passed and they haven't release 2.1 final version....)
and presto - that's it.

Here is our situation:

A client who wants to call, connects to an Ascend (also called MAX),
which then sends the user to a microsoft RADIUS server for
authentication.

You can try calling using ISDN line to 9277777 (our number for dial-up)
- you won't get text prompt. If it was - I would have publish a mini
HOWTO few weeks ago.

Instead, it uses MS CHAP method to connect.

Now, there aren't many documentation about this method of connection
(most stuff I found was in German language), and the isdn4linux FAQ
doesn't help at all.

What I was asking is for some ISDN based scripts who uses PAP or CHAP
method, so I can modify them and do the best to connect to us.

About this "commercial" support that many of you thought I needed to ask
- I cannot come to my company and say "I need to call to USA to
Caldera/Redhat for technical support" cause they won't allow it. As far
as marketing issue comes, they don't really care about Linux. After all
- how many specific Linux users would like to connect? 20? 50? they're
looking for the big numbers.

I'm not hired here, nor do I get paid for Linux support. I do it on my
free time, and boy, I'm giving it my best shots to make it work. I
already figured out how to operate the ISA ISDN cards, and in Sunday
I'll grab the PCI based ISDN cards (they come with TigerJet chip, so you
have isdn4linux - they're latest support this chip, but not the PCI chip
in card (which is from AMD)), so I'll see what I can do..

So please, I need your help, and if I fail with this, I, nor many people
who would like to connect to us won't be able to.

As for those who email me that they never gonna connect to us I say
simple thing: I'm waiting for the next Linux party to announce a
substantial discount for Linux-IL members for 64k and 128K connection,
and guarantee for: 1. Faster connection than any other ISP in Israel. 2.
Local "Peimat mon-e" anywhere in Israel with our special phone numbers
(only 5 digits).

Finally, I hope you can help me, so I can help others who want to
connect to us.

Sincerely yours,

Hetz Ben Hamo
