[MailPush] They apparently honor removal requests only in batch mode
First of all, I apologize for the offtopic nature of this message.
But I wanted to share my findings with fellow Linux-IL sufferers of
MailPush spam.
First of all, this message serves also as a test message to see if there
are still Linux-IL subscribers who are also MailPush customers with
enabled sender-confirmation option. If I get any MailPush confirmation
messages as a result of this message, I'll let you know the E-mail
addresses of the offenders.
Anyway, on Saturday and today I pursued mail-looping against two Linux-IL
subscribers. The means used were:
1. Hack the MailPush voice system to tell female MailPush customers
by phone that they have the multi-partner, cash-based style of sex
life. (Very simple hack, actually: just put the appropriate words in
the Subject line of your E-mail message.)
2. When the E-mail address was sexually neutral, caprophiliac messages
were sent to them shortly before lunchtime.
3. MailPush customers who chose the beeper as a way to receive notices,
were treated to messages about fake emergencies.
In all cases, they received a copy of the MailPush confirmation message
sent in their name. Also, the first 1-2 messages were simple requests to
turn off the confirmation messages fieature and/or unsubscribe from
MailPush. In most of the messages, I reminded them that I want them to
stop causing MailPush to send me confirmation messages.
At any case, I noticed that the confirmation messages stopped to reach me
at about 16:30-17:00 (which resulted in my stopping immediately the mail
loops).
So I assume that MailPush.com accumulate any Web requests to turn off the
sender confirmation messages feature during the day, and update their
database only once per day, at about 16:30-17:00.
Of course, they didn't bother to tell me this (assuming that this is
true).
