Have you installed the errata? I'm running apache using RH5 - no
problems yet. If you do have all errata installed and you have a clear
case of apache crashing, please inform the redhat team.
Finally, there is a newer "contributed" apache RPM in
ftp.redhat.com:/pub/contrib/hurricane/i386

Yes, you are missing RTFM and a bit of curiosity. In Glibc crypt() is
separated in libcrypt because of the moronic US attitude to
cyrptography. No need to panic, '-lcrypt ' passed to cc would do the job.
