So far I've compiled many things on a RH5 machine, including ssh, GIMP,
kernels of course, and anything else that had broken RPMs
(libObscure-unreferenced.so.0.0.1.2.1-NODOZE.0 is required by package X),
where RedHat installed package Gtk-0.99.970301-3 and you have no IDEA if
it's newer or older than what you need... anyway.

Biggest problem I had is you need to add -lcrypt to the CFLAGS (ro
LDFLAGS, something), cause crypt is in a different library now.
