I don't think that XFree86 currently supports any AGP cards, but the
German distributor of linux -- SuSE has some X servers(GPL) which support
Matrox Millenium II AGP, ATI Mach64 RagePro and others. See the
http://www.suse.de/XSuSE/XSuSE_E.html.
There is also the Accelerated-X V4.1(commercial X server) which supports
at least the Matrox Millenium II AGP in one of the updates/patches. Check
for yourself www.xig.com. This one costs $125+$35+VAT,etc.
Personally, I have decided against it, even if it means loosing one
slot(the AL440LX doesn't have too many) and even if I am using already the
Accelerated-X, but I may be wrong ...

I am using myself the AL440LX for about two months(rh4.2, rh5 with the
2.0.33 kernel) without problems. If you decide to take the optional Yamaha
OPL3-SA3 then you may need the OpenSoundSystem from
http://www.4front-tech.com/, the license is $20.
