Define your information needs more precisely and you'll be answered.
What do you mean by 'the implementation'?! What do you need the machine
to do exactly? I can assure that Linux can do it all, but in order to
point you to the right sources of information we must know the specific
needs.
As for support:
1. The Linux community recently won infowrold's 1997 prize for best
technicla support. You can always find someone who knows the solution to
your problem, and you'll usually get support much faster than with any
commercial support contract, if you just bother to send the question to
the right newsgroup.
Note however, that the linux community expects you to read the docs and
invest some effort in solving your problems by yourself before seeking
other people's help. This is not only a matter of courtesy but also a)
enables the busy gurus to help as many people as possible and b) is the
best way to learn Linux.
2. If you need commercial support, you can get it via two main routes:
   I. Support contract from a major Linux vendor. RedHat in the USA and
S.u.S.E in europe have such contracts for online support via email, fax
or phone.
II. Support from a local Linux expert. It's not hard to find people
acquainted with Linux who are willing to support it commercially. There
are several such people on this mailing list, for example.

We all 'implement' Linux in one way or another. Again - tell us what you
want to know and you'll be helped.
