Reducing the size of an ext2 partition
I formated a hard-disk so that I'll have an ext2 partition at the
beginning and a swap partition afterwards. However, for some reason I left
only 4 MB for the swap instead of 100MB. So, now I'd like to reduce the
size of the ext2 partition while keeping all its data.
I was told that tune2fs can do that thing. If I create a root diskette
with fdisk and the e2fs-tools, will I be able to do it? Did anybody manage
to do that before?
Assuming I'll have to re-partition my hard-disk: will tarring everything
in / into a tgz file, and then un-tarring it in the empty partition, do
the trick?
