why not go instead to Vixie's site and check for real? 4 will get only
security features, 8.1.2 is the latest and definite one, but the core
configuration is so different (has more features and is less terse), that
RH prefers to still distribute the old one. I sugest you look into the
contrib directories to find an RPM with a chrooted bind 8.1.2 (better safe
than sorry, right?), after that, there's a perl scripts that will
translate that old named.boot into a new named.conf. to know all the
differences between the two, read into the DOCs linked from here:
