ok guys, enough is enough. last time these threads started I just left the
list for 3 months. stop it right now, and have some SELF MODERATION!

linux-il is not only about linux and it is not only about Israel, in fact
it's stated quite clearly in the FAQ that this list is about promoting
linux and GNU software (and in the very broad sense of the definition,
(free|open)bsd are included) in Israel, and the development of Hebrew
tools to work in the Unix environment. as a side job e also help newbies
and flame M$, and that's mostly fun and OK, up to a point.

this isn't

dude1: anyone for freeBSD?
dude2: were about linux, idiot!
dude3: ok, it's not off topic, you don't have to shout!
dude4: yes it is, don't post it again!
dude5: stop fighting, you (we) are wasting the list's time
dude6: moderator here, stop it please kids!

this is immature, control yourself. if you want to correct someone about
an off topic message, do it in private (if at all!). freeBSD is another
flavour of Unix that needs support as freeware and as a non-MS product,
and mainly as a platform that deserves Hebrew support (for above reasons
again). no more holy wars, no more cussing, no more flaming, no
more telling-the-others-what-not-to-post on the list's bandwidth expense,
and no more stoning until _I_ blow _THIS_ whistle, even if anyone does say
Jahovah!

PS if anyone missed the last Monty Python paraphrase I pity him.
seriously.
