The space it has run out of, is memory, not disk space. Try 'free' when
using this. It can also be a pine bug brought forth by an incomplete vt320
termcap entry or misconfigured vt320.

There is a web page that covers all serial terminals and their codes. I
don't have the URL, search. I think it's something like 'serial terminal
history page' or such. You will find all the data you need there,
including termcaps.
