if you need unlimited file descriptors, I know a tiny patch that will do
it for you, but I never saw the out-of-inodes message. tryed the kernel
dev list on vger?
how does squid use the disks? does it have a few seperate disrectories it
alternates between, or did you mount a few seperate disks as one big long
filesystem (which I recommend against)
finally, use the NOVM version of squid, and have the swap on a seperate
disk than the ones with the web cache (or even a seperate SCSI bus.)
personal appologies to Ariel - I know you probably know most of this - the
above sugestions are for anyone on the list running squid.
