AFAIK, Brooktree (now Rockwell ?) Bt 848 based cards and Phillips
(SAA7110) based cards are supported, as well as Zoran based ones. The data
sheets of all of these chips are available for download (large PDF files
with way too much technical info for most mortals). BEWARE the last letter
in the chip name (siomet). Check with the drivers available before you
buy, eg. there is a difference between Bt848 and Bt848A.

Also, having a fully supported sound card under Linux is a must, if you
want to hear the soundtrack (i.e. full mixer support to let you switch
sources etc).
