ILLEGAL??!!??!!??!!
Why the hell should it be illegal? Is it also illegal to use the cpu as a
door-brake?! Are there any laws regarding humane treatment of CPUs?! It
will surely break whatever guarantee you may have, but I don't think it
can be illegal.

About $160/CPU in today's prices, to be precise. And it should be a real
major screwup to render the cpu useless.
Givan the fact that you save about $1000 on a dual cpu system that way
(comparing it to a dual P450), you can afford 4 unsuccessful attempts and
still save more than $300!
Note thatthat the 300A celerons are not only the most overclockable chips
ever made - the fact that their cache is on-dye compensates for its
reduced amount, and this compensation is even more noticeable at 450MHz.
In fact they are only slightly weaker than regular P450.
I seriously consider doing it, mostly for the fun of it...
