Re: Mouse Problem

I would strongly recommend you to throw away that animal and buy something
more standart-conforming (It is common Micro$oft practic to make
something which would work in windoz only).
But since you are in...
gpm driver seems work better with the mouse than X's.
So you should reroute X's mouse accesses to gpm:
1) Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config
Section "Pointer"
# Protocol "Microsoft"
# Device "/dev/mouse"
Protocol "MouseSystems"
Device "/dev/gpmdata"
2) make fifo file at /dev
cd /dev
mkfifo gpmdata
3) Ask gpm to duplicate mouse movements (edit /etc/rc.d/init.d/gpm
if [ -n "$MOUSETYPE" ]; then
# daemon gpm -t $MOUSETYPE
daemon gpm -R -t $MOUSETYPE
else
# daemon gpm
daemon gpm -R
fi
By the way - it is good method to make middle mouse button to work as
"paste" in X.
