Re: using pine over remote machine...

The usual way is, to set the same user name on the home machine as on the
main machine (ISP). If you have several, you can have several home
accounts, one for each user name on another machine. Of course, you need
something that rewrites the headers on outgoing mail, such as a MTA ;)

The only way to get mail rerouted to you as another user is to use the
.forward mechanism. man procmail. This requires a MTA to work on your
machine. A MTA will also allow you to send mail from pine while offline.
When you connect it will deliver to your ISP. Also, you can 'suck' mail
from the ISP to the local machine using fetchmail.
