I did not offer any argument to this. If this is an Open standart,
something that I can use in open source software (e.g. Mozzila) then I
have no objection.

What really enraged me is the prictures of hurds of students that their
experience of email is Pine in the university farms not able to
comunicate with anyone else (in Hebrew) because of some stupid goverment
decisison.

I do not know from where you gain your confidence that this will not
happen, that the standarts will remain public for all to use. (as you
said "logical" hebrew is 99% implicit (an open standart) but not 100%

As I mentioned in my post my source for the information is the article
in "Yediot Ahronot" which did not mention any of this.
I was not aware of KM Eitan call in this respect (and this is no doubtly
my fault ;-) and I am NOT aginst M$ or the goverment signing any kind of
deal togethr.
What I am afraid is being forced to use m$ products because the
protocols will be propriatery. That is all. I want to be able to code a
Linux browser that uses the "memshal Zamin"services. I don't care how
the goverment do it their own end, as long as i can use any client I
want (even if i have to write one).

Sorry, I do not own Encarta neither do I use stolen software.

No, we would first have to find out if he ate meat in the six hours
before the attack or we would run into the danger of "leading into sin"
(bad english, i know) a Jew... I suggest Parve cakes! ;-)
