Applixware

I successfully installed Applixware 4.3 on my system when I had Red Hat 4.2
installed. Recently I had to reinstall Linux and when I did, I installed
with Red Hat 5.1. I also had to reinstall Applixware 4.3, which
successfully reinstalled, but when I try to run it, I get the message,

"unable to load libX11.so.6"

A friend of mine also has Applixware 4.3 installed on his Red Hat 5.1
system without this problem.

I used the command find / -name "*libX11.so.6*" -print to find this file
and found that there are three of them,

/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6
/usr/i486-linuxaout/lib/libX11.so.6
/usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libX11.so.6

All of these are soft links.

The first one goes to

/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6.1

The second goes to

/usr/i486-linuxaout/lib/libX11.so.6.0

The third goes to

/usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libX11.so.6.1

I found that these files were different in size than on my friend's system,
but he sent me his files and I replaced these files but got the same
results.

I called Applix and they told me that the problem was probably that the 4.3
version of Applixware that Red Hat sold was designed for Red Hat 4.2 and
this was probably the source of the problem. So I talked to someone at Red
Hat who was unable to solve the problem. Also my friend told me that he
had recently installed Applixware 4.3 on his Red Hat 5.1 system without any
problems.

Any clues?
