Did you check that its chipset is supported by the latest X drivers,
like, say, *before* buying it ;) ? Especially the special output switching
feature (usually there is an interlock to prevent sending high-res
monitor frequencies into a baseband video stream) ?

If you manage to make it work under X:
Try xvidtune with the picture with the X monitor connected, at 640x400,
then connect the NTSC monitor, and play with the controls. OR compute the
dividers as required to obtain 15 kHz / 60 Hz from a primary clock of 24
MHz (I think it will let you set that clock). You will need to use a LARGE
font. Centering the screen is pure distilled hell.
Somewhere on the net there are XF86Config settings for
television-compatible settings, but I forgot where. Search the net.
Ah, and least but not last, many cards with NTSC output usually switch the
entire display from RGB to YUV mode when using the TV output, as this
simplifies the encoder hardware. Needless to say, the usual X drivers
can't do YUV. Hope this helps ;)

Yes, but I used a usual VGA card, a cable that I made myself and an
external RGBS->PAL encoder, and a BARCO monitor that can do 600 lines or
more. Not your usual TV set.

Maybe you should ask this kind of question BEFORE you buy stuff ?
