Weird problems

Hello all.

I'm having 2 problems which, while I can live with them, I really don't
like to. (some people call it perfectionism, but I know they're wrong)

The first, is something that two messages that are added every second or
two to /var/log/messages.
Those are:
Event Delete UpDown lo 127.0.0.1/255 <broadcast loopback>
Event Add lo 127.0.0.1/255 <up broadcast loopback>

What the hell do they mean? Why do they fill up my log file? How do I
get rid of it?

The second is even weirder (at least I think so).
Whenever I boot, I get "unresolved symbols somefile.o" for a few of the
network modules (plip, and some other, I can't remember now).
I recompiled the kernel, made the modules again using the command:
make dep ; make clean ; make zlilo ; make modules ; make modules_install
; lilo

but still no good. I look at the path mentioned in the error message,
and the something.o file is there!
What's going on here? Anybody has ideas?
