Umm, I'm afraid I don't know how it works under Slackware, but I am
pretty sure that if you do
	cd /etc/X11
	grep wm */* | less

you'll find some hints there. I have a /etc/X11/xinit/ which refers to
window managers. I /think/ you'll find it there, but just grep around
if you don't. Alternatively, "strace  .... | grep open" your kwm. It's
definitely in one of those files.

^W^W^W^W^W^Wwhoa there! Oops, sorry, you said /k/dm! Heh, that's an
elk of different antlers. A look in /opt/kde/share/config/kdmrc
shows there's a "failsafe session", set by default to fvwm. I'd
venture to guess you're for some reason starting in failsafe mode;
try to edit that entry and say "twm", for instance, and tell us
what happened?

If you got the lean'n'mean twm, your kdm had a problem and decided
to put you in failsafe. If not, well, we'll have to think of
something else :-)
