pcmcia
HI
I've installed RH5.2 on my laptop and everything was fine
(including my eth and modem (which are pcmcia)).
than I wanted to upgrade the kernel.
I took 2.1.131 ( and later 2.1.132, and later 2.1.132ac2) and
compiled and installed it (and the modules).
I rebooted the new kernel and everything was fine up to here.
the problem is that it didn't find my ethernet and
my modem, which both were PCMCIA.
I have downloaded, compiled and installed pcmcia-cs-3.0.6
and rebooted
after linux was up, I've tryed to login, but it didn't respond
to my pressing keys, including Alt-Ctl-Del.
I tryed to remove my eth card, I got a beep, but still keyboard
do not work. I tryed Alt-SysReq-s combination (and then Alt-Sys-u|r)
to sync unmount and boot, but that did not work either.
in the end, the only solution i had was to turn the power off
(I do not have a reset button, althogh the laptop comes with W98 from
factory, go figure ;-) ).
can anyone help ?
regards
Erez.
