That's a great idea, but the only problem is that everybody will have to
bring his/her home computer, it will be VERY crowded (the OS course has
more then 100 students), and I won't be able to install all of them.
What we could do is give them the CD at the first class, and then make an
insta-party one ar two weeks later, only for the problematic computers.
This way still has few problems:
1. I will need a lot of help (I'm almost sure that Or Sagi will be glad to
help, and the teacher and the teaching assistant too, but we'll still be
only 4 people.
2. I'm not sure that the teacher will agree to waste calss time for that.
3. There will stilll be students that won't want to install it on their
home computers, and we can't make them do it...
4. The teacher will still don't have Linux specific class' structure,
while he has a apecial OS course NT kit... He has to choose between making
his own slides and teacing Linux, or just telling the "Av Baiit" to bring
the slides viewer into the classroom...
I still need to find course materials about Linux. (I mean course
structure, and homework exercises, and probably a nice web page since the
teacher intends to all of the course things on the web, so the students
won't have to actually come to the lectures if they don't want to)
The material should not be about Un*x, since this teacher taught Un*x
courses lots of times. He wants the course to be more specific then just
the brand...
