Hi,
Well, since nobody was able to help me with that virtual memory thing,
here's another problem.
Same machine (486/33, 8mb RAM, now on kernel 2.1.97 but this happened with
2.0.33 and .32 too). After it boots, df shows:
--
Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
df: filesystems.: No such file or directory
df: fsck: No such file or directory
df: all: No such file or directory
df: : No such file or directory
df: filesystem: No such file or directory
df: local: No such file or directory
df: on: No such file or directory
df: clock:: No such file or directory
df: swap: No such file or directory
df: random: No such file or directory
--
That's prbably because /etc/mtab contains:
--
Checking filesystems.
Parallelizing fsck version 1.10 (24-Apr-97)
Checking all file systems.
----------------------------------
Checking filesystem quotas
Mounting local filesystems.
Turning on user and group quotas for local filesystems
Setting clock: Wed Apr 22 15:08:59 IDT 1998
Enabling swap space.
Initializing random number generator...
--
Now why THAT should be is beyond me. This is consistent; the problem
doesn't go away at reboot.
Bye,
-Yaron.
