oh. i thought you were taling about a fully configured DNS server (that
queries the root name servers directly).

one the other hand, you make your DNS as reliable as the single remote DNS
it is forwarding requests to. now here is a question - can bind be
configured to have a set of 'parent DNS servers' that it will query in
turn, in case the first one is not responding? i know the name resolver
library can be configured for that (by placing two or more DNS addresses
in the /etc/resolv.conf file). it'll be very useful to do the same when
configuring a forwarding-DNS.
