Subscription instructions
Subscription, etc. instructions
===============================
All the "control" messages must be sent to
linux-il-request@cs.huji.ac.il (I think that Jonathan Ben-Avraham
will set up the address linux-il-request@linux.org.il as an
alias). The commands must appear on the body of the message,
terminated either by the word "end" or by "-- " (the signature
delimeter). Or by the end-of-message, of course. Alternatively,
if you send only one command, it may appear in the subject of the
message, in which case the body won't be checked for commands.
The list owner (currently, me) will be reachable by e-mail at:
linux-il-owner@cs.huji.ac.il
(and maybe, linux-il-owner@linux.org.il).
*** Get help
The best way to get help is to send the following commands in one
message:
help
commands
flags
end
*** Subscribe
Either:
subscribe your@e-mail.addr
or:
add your@e-mail.addr
The e-mail address is optional.
*** Unsubscribe
Either:
unsubscribe your@e-mail.addr
or:
remove your@e-mail.addr
or:
del your@e-mail.addr
The e-mail address is optional.
*** Flags
There are several flags that can be set for any address. By
default, only ECHOPOST is set. To set / unset a flag, the
following commands exist:
set FLAG
unset FLAG
where FLAG is the name of the flag to set / unset. Here are some
of the flags:
=== DIGEST
This flag means that the subscriber will only receive the
digested version of the list.
=== DIGEST2
This flag means that the subscriber will receive both normal and
digested versions of the list.
=== ECHOPOST
The subscriber gets copies of his own posts.
=== ACKPOST
The subscriber gets an ACK (a short acknowledgment) when his
message is received to the list.
=== DIAGNOSTIC
This flag means that the subscriber doesn't want to receive the
list traffic, but still has the right to post to the list. Can
be used if the subscriber has different addresses for receiving
and posting mail to the list (subscribe twice, set DIAGNOSTIC on
one of the addresses).
=== VACATION
The VACATION flags means that the user must not receive mail from
the list, until the flag is unset. This flag can be set
automatically when Listar receives several messages from the
vacation programme.
*** The end
Vadik.
