It's not an issue. If you dig deep enough in /. you'll see that Linus
or the GPL don't have any say on the licensing of kernel modules which
don't contain GPLed code, just as Bill Gates doesn't control the
license of third party device drivers for Windows which don't contain
MS code.

The GPL derives its power from copyright law, and no court in the
world would give Linus a copyright on MOSIX. Whatever he has to say
about binary modules etc. may be sound technical advice but is of no
legal consequence.

Alan Cox seemed to have grasped this point as early as 23.4.96 (check
out alan@cymru.net on dejanews). I don't know what made him change his
mind.
