I cannot agree with you more. (regarding all the points you raised)
I am a 6th (soon 7th) semester student at elec. eng. , the Technion.
I started with linux because of a course I had to take (Operating Systems)
and since I discovered linux, I can't get enough of it...
I don't know if people from the technion are listning,
but if someone knows about such a project -
please let me know.
