Don't forget that all the memory that leaks eventually finds itself in
the swap, never to be paged out again. It's quite noticeable that
Netscape grows in size with time when you use it, but the memory it
_really_ takes, which has to remain out of swap, is rarely more than
10-15 MB.
I can say from experience of a local server we have here. It's a P133,
64 MB RAM, with not a lot of users, but I remember times when four
users had Netscape loaded, some with Java, another user had XEmacs,
plus some were reading mail. The system was pretty comfortable, even
though it has a host of other things runnning, such as a Squid proxy
which all these netscapes were using, and lots of other stuff. So if
64 MB is good enough for at least 4 Netscapes + other stuff, 512 MB
should be more than enough for 20 users with everything they want.

Software suppliers are trying to make their software packages more
"user-friendly". ... Their best approach, so far, has been to take all
the old brochures, and stamp the words, "user-friendly" on the cover.
