accessing dos partitions
Dear Yoni and Micha, Shalom!
Thank you for your suggestions and support. Here below is the answer I
received from SuSE support, similar to yours, and which I immediately
implemented. Note, they completely skipped over YaST.
I am now able to access files on the dos side. With great patience I was
able to open a Word6.doc in WordPerfect. Star Office can't even be
considered, because of its slowness. I tried to open some saved HTML pages
in Netscape, but I kept getting this message: Netscape is unable to locate
the server keyword.netscape.com. I was not interested in going on line,
just to read a saved page on the dos partition.
Anyone know what a "keyword" is? I've searched all around, but can't find
the reference, and in the meantime am blocked.
TIA
Avraham Hanadari

Create a mount Point :
mkdir /dos_1
After that edit the file /etc/fstab .
Create the following entry :
/dev/hda1 /dos_1 vfat noauto,user 0 0
Save the file.
After that you can mount the Dos Partition with
mount /dos_1
Unmounting the partition can be done with
umount /dos_1
You have to do the same things to mount the other dos partitions.
