RE: Problems with X

Hi,

I've installed X-3.3.3 and then I've experienced problems
with some applications.

Specifically: If you ugrade to GLIBC_2.1 some applications
bundled with RH 5.2 or Debian 2.1 stop working.
I had the problem with: RH Control Panel, XXGDB, DDD.

Good luck,

Subject:	Problems with X

Hello all :
I seem to have some problems with running X, maybe related to the mouse :
when I switch from console to X (after X is running) if I try to move the
mouse right after I push CTRL-ALT-F7, X crashes and reports a problem with
the mouse module. I remember that last time I had Linux on this machine, I
had the same problem, except that X didn't crash, just the mouse didn't
move, until I released it, left it alone for 2 seconds and then it was ok.

My system is RH5.2 upgraded to XFree86 3.3.3.1 using the .tgz binaries
from XFree86.org. I use the XSVGA server for my TNT card from ASUS.
the mouse is a generic (that is - nameless ) 3 button PS/2 mouse.

any clue ?

* also - on a diffrent note - I've downloaded the latest GNOME rpms (last
night) for RH5.x (i386), and they're on an FTP I run. if anybody want them
-come and get it at :
ftp://ftp.betalfa.org.il/pub/download/linux/WindowManagers/GNOME/ or
something (this is from memory) the bandwidth isn't high (128k FR), but
it's local to NetVision, so should be faster then mirrors out of the
country.
