First of all, ICQ is not free software. It's zero-cost proprietary
software. It's a big difference. Mirabilis ICQ has much more common in
development and marketing model with Microsoft Internet Explorer (or
Netscape Navigator) than with Linux. The former develop proprietary
software and give it away, planning to get money on user-base in various
other ways, the latter is free software.
I, personally, was also somewhat amased to see Mirablis executive to speak
on Linux event - company that showed no support for Linux ever and not
even little bit of understanding or respect to concepts of free software.
They may do they business as they like, but how do they belong to Linux?
