Any configuration in which the address that eventually gets stuck in the
From: header differs from the one used to subscribe to the list (or to
generally receive email).
Think about it, are you really not interested in what non subscribers have
to say? What about the (admittedly somewhat farfetched) case in which Linus
Torvalds wants to tell the list something but can't because he isn't
subscribed? And what about a non subscriber who was cc'd to a message sent
to the list but can't reply back to the list?
Like I said, to defeat spam there are other methods. No need to kill a fly
with a sledgehammer.
