Installing Slackware in a SCSI drive.

Hi there.

I'm having problems installing slackware in a 1gig SCSI drive from
adaptec,
model - aha15**.

I'm loading up the bootdisk with scsi.s which supports All the scsi
drives,
(also tried using the specific driver for the scsi adapter)
then loading the rootdisk, and when trying to enter fdisk it tells me:

Unable to open /dev/sda
-
Anyone knows how can I make it read the h.d?
please reply.
