Re: chicken and egg (now: backuping DBMSs)

I backup databases as regular files.
I use dump and restore (or ufsdump and ufsrestore on solaris)
if I define the device correctly (my tape is on solaris) and I
use the newer version of dump which has the -a option
(this does not come with rh60, i had a link for it in lwn, one befor the
last lwn.)
this is a good utility which can make whole backups and updates (level
0-9)
