gtk+-1.1.9
Hi All
I just download gtk+-1.1.9 & glib-1.1.9. (tar.gz)
glib compiled fine but gtk+ refuse to compile and give the message:
"checking for XOpenDisplay in -lX11... no
configure: error: *** libX11 not found. Check 'config.log' for more
deta"
This machine is RH5.2 and already got gtk+-1.0.6-3 and glib i thought of
trying to do rpm -e gtk+-1.0.6-3 but the machine said that it will
break dependencies.
I tried to look for an RPM to upgrade to the above gtk but I found only
the 1.0.x
so im helpless now :-(
tail of config.log
int main() {
IceConnectionNumber()
; return 0; }
configure:5080: checking for XOpenDisplay in -lX11
configure:5099: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall -I/usr/X11R6/include/
-L/usr/
ld: cannot open -lX11: No such file or directory
configure: failed program was:
#line 5088 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"
/* Override any gcc2 internal prototype to avoid an error. */
/* We use char because int might match the return type of a gcc2
builtin and then its argument prototype would still apply. */
char XOpenDisplay();
int main() {
XOpenDisplay()
; return 0; }
