Re: Linux preload on new compaq's?
After noting the real convergence of the Microsoft trial argument
"there is competition", the announcement of delay of Windows 2000 and
this of support by Compaq, ...
There is an interesting case to be made for Compaq: 3 or 4 months
down the line, their sales of Linux-configured servers to ISPs and other
corporate types is so high that they don't want to let go of the
product line.
Especifically if every other server vendor has followed suit.
One immediate advantage is that to support their hardware, Compaq will
have to post probably open source drivers for it.
So it is win-win.
