Re: ISDN with RedHat 6.0?

Hi,

Before going on, let me say a small note: After a private e-mail
dialog between us, you may include linux-il as a CC, but please
quote the full message of me.

This is why there are SRPMs.

And now my full original message; As you can see, it is not sure,
but only a (near-sure) speculation based on answers of RedHat staff
when they pre-announced 6.0:

Of course you can build your own. But it is better to use THEIR.

I don't know what they add.

After the pre-announcement of 6.0, they were asked if they would
have kernels newer than 2.2.5 on their site for downloading, and
they answered that it would take time (not because there were not
newer versions of the kernel; Moreover, 2.2.6 was already
available). They explained that after having any new kernel tree,
they have some patches, and the process of patching and testing
the new kernel takes about a month (!).

You are not the only one to be surprised; I was surprised too.

I hope this clears some issues,
