Well, it is the "mee too!" syndrome. Till now, Linux was ignored.
But when they saw that almost without advertizing, 300 came to a
successful Linux event, they probably changed their mind (I didn't
want too much advertizing, because I was afraid that we would need
Yad-Eliyahu instead of Ulam 1 of Ganei-HaTaarucha :-).

Unfortunately, success is not a function of going on trends. Success
depends on other parameters, like who is invited to lecture, Linux
knowledge of the organizers, price of registration, connections with
the right bodies/companies/sponsors, etc. All of these issues were
met very well in our event, and I am afraid that the following event
will be an opposite example.

Anyway, I honestly wish them success. We will be grateful for ANY
promotion, even not because of the right reasons. BTW: The planned
date is May 31.

When I wrote the promo of our event, all the details were exact and
correct (you can read it again at: http://elmar.co.il/LinuxEvent/ )
but one of the sponsors preferred his own phrasing, and because of
lack of time, I didn't want to dis-agree and begin a ping-pong,
although I saw these funny facts, like 60% of the Internet servers,
etc. (I guess they confused the statistics of Apache with Linux).

So now People&Computers re-use these "facts". I hope the level of
their event will be higher.
