imho they did not donate anything else because anything else would be tied
to someone else's trade mark/name (Sun, Apple, SGI, you name it), whereas
the PC architecture is 'public domain' or nearly. But I suppose that his
shareholders would have asked interesting questions if he'd donated
non-PCs ;).

Some respect for the profile of the school would have dictated the
donation of Apples. Wishful thinking.
