Gnome and KDE freezing up

I have RedHat 6.0 installed and both KDE and Gnome installed as window
managers. Both were working fine until I installed WordPerfect from the
CheapBytes CD-ROM. Ever since then, whenever I am in KDE or in Gnome,
within a few minutes either the mouse pointer disappears, or it shifts over
to the far right side of the screen and freezes, or it freezes within the
display screen.

Any clues?

Also, is there another way of getting out of a frozen window manager
besides pushing the reset button?

Thanks in advance,
