Re: Emacs & word wrap; X-server

> 2. how do i convert those .pcf to .bdf.

1. Put them in a directory.
2. Create a "fonts.dir" file (using "mkfontdir").
3. Create an appropriate config file for xfs (use "man xfs").
Ensure that "catalogue" includes the full path name of the
   directory.
4. Run xfs ("xfs -config config-file-name &").
5. Use "fstobdf -s localhost:7100 -fn font-name > out.bdf" (more
details by "man fstobdf"). Note: "font-name" should be the XLFD
name of the font (logical name), not the font name. You can find
this name in "fonts.dir", near the file name.

BDF is ASCII, PCF is binary. PCF is the compiled form of BDF. Both
can be loaded directly by current X servers and font servers, but
PCF is loaded much faster, because there is no need to parse it.

Both are bitmapped, and defined by Adobe. "BDF" stands for "Bitmap
Distribution Format".
