from the man page keytables(5):
key is pressed again. (By default Shift, AltGr, Control
and Alt are bound to the keys that bear a similar label;
AltGr may denote the right Alt key.)
As far as I know, it means Alt Gray. Why? In the switch from the AT keyboard
(with 82-84 keys) to the PS/2 keyboard which we all use today (with 102-104
or more keys), some keys were duplicated - the movement keys of the numpad,
alt, ctrl and maybe others (I have seen keyboards with 2 '\' keys). Those
duplicated keys were gray, instead of the default white for most of the others.
