Actually, that not entirely true: an Arabic LUG has existed for quite
some time - take a look at www.arablug.org. They also have an interesting
mailing list to which I'm subscribed (see their site for an archive), and
are well aware of existing Bidi implementation attempts, in particular
Dov Grobgeld's, and have come up with some interesting software.
So this new site is definitely not the "first" Arabic linux group, but maybe
it's the first that's actually in Arabic (arablug.org is in English).
It seems that arablug.org main raison d'etre is Arabising Linux, while
the new arab4linux is more about advocating the use of Linux in the Arab
world - rather like the difference between this user group (linux-il)
and the Ivrix project I'm now trying to push.
