Linux meeting again: please RSVP
I see I wasn't specific enough last time about the place :-)
please RSVP to me at linux-rsvp@ira.scso.com
the meeting is at IDC in Hertzelia (Hamerkaz Habein Tkhumi) which used
to be the nun-mem base just south of the airport. map is here:
http://www.idc.ac.il/main/Content/Bigmap.html
date is Friday, January 7th.
11am at Class 4 (cross the campus, turn right, last room in the computer
lab row), I'll try to get some sort of a map up on the website.
So far I got only 5 RSVP replies, please tell me in time so we can make
sure we have enough room.
All further announcements will be on linux-il-announce, so please
subscribe now by Emailing linux-il-announce-REQUEST@cs.huji.ac.il with
"subscribe" in the body. This is done so people who can't keep up with
the list's volume will still know about Events like Haifux and IDC,
possibly Jerusalem one day. Spread this around to your friends, as it
may interest programmers and Unix people not in our "clique", and that
is what we hope to open up to.
As mentioned before, this month's lecture is about the open() call (Ury
Segal), and Y2K horror stories. for the next Friday I have two options
scheduled: the fork() call (Ury Segal) and using Python for prototyping
(Chen Shapira), possibly even fit both if time permits. A month later I
thought I'll give a talk myself about IPchains, proxies and building
basic firewalls with free software. More sugestions can be dropped in
the mail address I gave above.
