PLIP works excellent via parallel port cable. You connect them, put two
point-to-point interfaces and voila! But it's slow and eats CPU -
if you put NFS there, you really can see disk operations on your processor
meter :). And if one of them is 386 (as it was when I tried it), data
transfer via PLIP slows it to *crawl*.
