Yes, I guess init is launched. I meant I don't know what init does with it.
When I used slackware, 's' (single user runlevel) made init start a shell.
I moved to debian, and it made init start and stop a lot of stuff, so I
moved to using '-b' - which makes it start 'sulogin' (enter root password
or CTRL-D for regular boot). Since I saw distributions that make complex
things even with '-b' (although 'man init' says 'Boot directly into a
single user shell without running any other startup scripts'), I said
'boot=/bin/sh' which tells the KERNEL to run sh, skipping init totally
(which is the best in this case, IMHO).
