re: nebie questions

Hi,

about tolerance:

I get many requests for help (that are not sent to the list but to me
privately, it seems ppl DO look at the Linux consultants page :-), that
are very general, like "I am expert win95 user and would like to control
Linux like this" (this is a quote !!!). What CAN you answer to this ? It's
obvious: Go get a good book.

The problem is that most newbies don't understand linux OS mentality and
have to ask those "stupid" questions. In addition to our special Israel
problem, that all reading matter is in english and most people are a bit
lazy on the reading part (especially in english). I simply keep explaining
that whoever doesn't read english should consider learning so before
seriously starting with linux. Most don't heed my advice and end up
disappointed because they don't understand because they don't read because
each manpage takes a whole day to read (unfortunately I am NOT joking
here).

My 2 bits,

Schlomo

PS: And please, stop the mud-throwing, will you ?
