Re: netscape question
> Is there anything like this for netscape on linux?
On slashdot, in the "burn gifs" discussion (sunday), there are
instructions for making animations run once:
\begin{quote}
perl -pi -e 's:ANIMEXTS1:ANIMEXTZ1:' ./netscape
perl -pi -e 's:NETSCAPE2:NOTSCAPE2:' ./netscape
Run that AFTER you Fortify to 128 bit (you DO Fortify those weak 56 bit
browsers, right?) and then Netscape will show it ONCE and then stop.
\end{quote}
Stopping banner adds can usually be achieved by blocking the servers
(usually by mapping them to 127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts, and making sure they
are not proxied).
Still, for most sites lynx is usable and does all those automatically.
