Multi threaded debugging
Hi,
I'm starting to port a multithreaded project to Unix. I remember that not so
long ago it was impossible to debug multithreaded programs on Linux, since that
would be a no go for a Linux port I'm trying to establish it before initiating
it. I was wondering how much of that is still true. I've looked at the info
which comes which GDB which was great : gdb may be able to debug threads on your
system or not was the short version. How robust is the current implementation?
Also, if you have any recommendations for additional non standard tools
C++ development on Linux. I was thinking along the line of purify (checker and
its like) & quantify (profilers) and that sort. I wouldn't mind purchasing
commercial tools.
The original project was developed on NT using ObjectSpace for portability,
which I hope will help pass the major hurdle.
Thanks,
Yuval
