As Peter has noted, you can read my page about Red Hat <-> Debian at
http://alexsh.hectic.net/debian.html

Taking the risk of getting flamed, I'll post this quick comparison
between Red Hat and Debian: Debian to Red Hat is about the same thing
that Linux is to Windows. The former is considered harder to install
and then to use, although almost anyone with experience loves it much
more than the other; it's developed by volunteers from around the
globe, as opposed to a commercial company; less people use it -- free
software projects don't have budget for advertizing like commercial
companies do; people like the community aspect of it as opposed to the
mass market scent of the other; it's considered technically superior
by most people who had tried both.
