Hi,
We have been selling the Cheabpytes CD's for two years. The price
including a CD-R with the updates directory, including VAT and postage
is NIS 55. This comes out cheaper than your suggested price if you take
into account the cost of the CD-R media and the time it takes to burn the
CD-R. See our site, URL listed below. We still loose money on it because
of all the time it takes answering phone calls from people who want to
know exactly what's on the CD and how it differs from Debian, etc.
IMHO the people who have responded to this thread have no idea what it
costs to import software and resell it. You keep talking about "rip-off"
prices. Ok, so order it directly from RedHat: First find a bank that will
agree to give you an international credit card, then order it from a
RedHat reseller, then go get the customs notice from your mail box, then
go to customs and try to convince them that it's not worth $1,000, then
pay the customs and the VAT, then go home and tell your friends that you
bought it from Cheapbytes for only $1.99 and that PF1, BUG, TclTek and Kol
Zeev are ripping you off, then grow up.
