Announcement - next haifa linux club meeting topics
hi,
the next haifa linux club meeting is about to take place this thurthday
(2-sep-1999), at the same location as the first meeting (i.e. room 413,
computer science faculty, the technion, haifa).
the topic for the lecture would be: writing robust programs.
we'll discuss common faults in programs that make them vulnerable to
run-time problems, and mention various ways to overcome those problems.
we'll check areas such as problems with files and directories, problems
with networking programs, etc.
after the lecture - a short break, and then our first discussion - is
linux realy good as a programming environment? i'd like to hear opinions
of people who have some experience programming on linux systems and
(hopefully) other systems as well. we'll try putting head-to-head the IDE
approach vs. the command-line approach. be prepared for some deadly
matches :) .
see (some of) you there,
guy
