VMailer: runs now here: is aok ?
Hi,
I've installed vmailer now and it seems to work. Local delivery is still
by sendmail but I'll move it.
There seems to be a problem with mail to-oneself (user->himself), it
causes a loop ? I'll check the 'own domain' stuff again.
Also, there is an interesting thing or two in the license. What do you
think ?
Peter
PS: I have to say that getting and installing vmailer was a 2-hour job
(with coffee breaks). NO problems so far. It rewrites addresses etc unlike
qmail so I can use it from a PPP host.
I haven't tested forwarding yet (.forward), nor mailing list running.
I like that I can tell it to listen on a certain port so firewalling etc
is easy.
It makes one HELLUVA lot of UNIX domain pipes that show up in netstat.
Known bug (so far): This is an unloaded K6 machine and the maintenance
commands are VERY slow. 'postfix reload' takes 5 seconds ! Not the same
for delivery tho' (fast).
