AHA1505 problem
Hi,
I need some SCSI advice:
I got a used AHA1505 and 2 CDROMs. I installed everything, compiled the
driver into the kernel etc. Upon boot the driver finds the card, finds the
two CROMs and everything seems OK (The LEDs on the CDROMs blink like if
they are accessed) . Also cat /proc/scsi/scsi shows the 2
CDROMs. lsmod shows that sr_mod and cdrom are loaded (I only compiled SCSI
support and the AHA152x driver into the kernel, all other stuff I left as
module). The problem is that the moment I try to access /dev/sr0 or
/dev/sr1, it doesn't work and after that cat /proc/scsi/scsi shows no
device attached. After that of course nothing else with the SCSI works,
too.
I checked cabling, IDs & termination, it looks to me OK. Also the
detection of thwe CDs shows the correct IDs etc. (Could it be something
connected to parity ?).
Please give me your ideas as to what to do/check since I am at the end of
my own SCSI-wisdom.
