Re: what's internet-zahav and NV's nameservers?

Taking a break from late-night scheming, so bear with me:

(define good-mood? #f) ;; a reasonable default

Why don't you ask them? This is not a linux question, so why are you
asking it here? And the question is not particularly transparent: what
should you type *in where*? For your own sake I hope that "in there"
is /etc/resolv.conf, because if it is not you are likely to be whipped
by a differential SCSI cable by one of the list members...

(set! good-mood? #t) ;; for a wholly unreasonable waste of bandwidth

I am assuming that your question is what IP you should type "in
there", not "What the hell is a nameserver and what does IP mean?" I
am in a good mood and I am prepared to think well of people. If I am
wrong here, read the NET-3-HOWTO (if it doesn't come with your OS you
*will* be flogged). Finished? Good.

For what it is worth, If NV in the Subject means NetVision, then try
194.90.1.5. For Internet Zahav try typing 192.116.192.8 or
205.164.141.8 "in there," wherever that is. At least I know that the
first IP is a Netvision nameserver. I can't say if it is intended for
use by all Netvision customers everywhere, so call them - they just
might give you another IP. I simply *guessed* the other two IPs by
running "nslookup dns.internet-zahav.net.il" (if you learn "man
nslookup", NET-3-HOWTO, and the ILUG FAQ by heart you may still
escape that SCSI cable), and verified that they act as nameservers,
but I don't *know* if they are the right ones. I strongly suggest that
you call IZ before trying them.

(set! good-mood? #f) ;; restore the reasonable default and peace of mind
