Re: doc documents in pdf (summary)
the simplest solution _for people who have access to a windows
partition_
is the one suggested by a few people
(and explained simply enough so that even _I_ can do it by shlomo
goldberg :)
>install a dummy ps printer in your windows partition
> as described in the short attachment below
>read your doc file in wordpad
>print your file to the dummy printer using a print to file option
>ps2pdf the resulting prn file

Dear Dorit,
I have never done it for Wordpad. I also am not a very great user of Windows.
I assume that it is the same as for Word, for which I have done it. You build a
printer as a dummy in addition to the current printers in your system. I use
the "AST TurboLaser-PS" printer. I have found that it is satisfactory for my
purposes. You do this by "Printers --> Add Printer --> Local printer --> AST
--> etc." After I built the printer I can send documents to it and request
files instead of directly to the printer which does not exsist. I just checked
and my Wordpad has access to this printer in my system.
