Re: &he;&nun;&dalet;&vav;&fnun;: linux.org.il intro

If you try really hard you might be able to make linux work for basic
users in hebrew but I'm sure we all agree that for a bit more than the
simplest things even just to read the README of a new program you
downloaded you need to know english.
man aren't translated as people who would actually understand the mans
would know english..though the germans didn't think like us and translated
them..anyhow since every program come with its own man you'll be chansing
them all around the net..

and yea we have too many hebrew standarts about 5 last time I counted
and may calling to all of you ppl:) use unicode!!!every other standart
would die soon enough .(not mention it's hte only standart I know that
support nikod)

| interesting point...
| I saw lots of translated documentation, but I don't know of any language
| man's were translated to...
|
| The language barrier is a real one. Most linux commands make more sense if
| you know english (and some, like cat, make less sense :)
|
| Well, there was a post here awhile ago asking for translators to translate
| linux books into hebrew. Thats a good sign :)
|
| And as for the web page - we can happily blame the confusion of hebrew
| character sets on the net (The best thing about standards is that we have so
