1. Do you succeed in connecting to another computer via LAN?
2. If you have a Windows 95 partition on the computer, do you succeed in
   connecting via Windows 95?

The module net-pf-5 is the one which implements appletalk.  If you don't
use appletalk, you don't need this module.  Add to /etc/conf.modules the
line:
alias net-pf-5 off

Since you get no error message about net-pf-4, I understand that you do
use IPX (i.e. have a Novell server).  Right?
