Yes, that _is_ venom dripping from my voice, nice of you to have noticed.
I do read HOWTOs, I did hear of the LDP originally situated at sunsite.unc.edu,
now metalab.unc.edu. However, while searching there a couple of weeks ago, I
found
nothing helpful regarding recent security issues. Outdated security
documentation
are usually useless. However, if someone is actually interested in answers, I
found
three relevant sites:

- http://redhat-security.seifried.org/index.html

- http://rlz.ne.mediaone.net/linux/ has some security links. This link was added
  about two weeks ago to metalab.

- http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~jtmurphy/
  This one is a bit useless, it's a collection of CERN/Bugtraq/l0pht advisories.

And of course, the Linux Security mailing list.
