|This might be the problem. New perl and old DBI-perl. Very old one, as I
I'm confused, maybe someone with more experience with RH than me can
explain this to me:
Debian is (at least used to be) known for its advanced system of
inter-package dependencies - a package will refuse to install if all
the packages it depends on don't have the right version installed, or
if a package with which it conflicts is already installed, there is
simply no way you can install a bad package on a stable debian version
(it could be different for non-stable releases, but even there it
isn't so common).
Now for the last year or so I heard that RH also have such
inter-package dependencies (although not as advanced as Debian, so I
read) and still I see people ending up with broken software. (see the
original question on this thread).
Could someone explain to me what's the use of the RH package
dependencies system if it doesn't prevent such cases?
Thanks,
