How did I miss an emacs thread? ;-)

In XEmacs, you might try something like

(add-hook 'LaTeX-mode-hook
	  #'(lambda () (progn
			 (set-fill-column frame-width)
			 (LaTeX-fill-buffer))))

Whenever LaTeX-mode is run this stanza (in your .emacs) will get
the frame width, set the column to fill to this value, and justify
the LaTeX buffer the LaTeX way. I ran it once and it worked, but
that doesn't count for real testing. YMMV.

I don't know off-hand what to do in GNU emacs, it doesn't have these
useful things like frame-width and LaTeX-fill-buffer... If you ask
nicely I'll try to come up with something when I come home tonight.
