Re: Rh 6 Vs Other Distros

I am using a debian system which i think handles packages better then RH
and can also handle RH packages.

Concerning the window manager crashes.
Gnome is still not very stable, and RH probably still ships with version
0.3, there is version 1.somthing out now. Try getting s later version (It
was much more stable, at list on my computer). Also see if they have a
stable and non-stable version, although the nonstable is usually better
then the stable one in my expirience.
enlightenment is also still in development, last i checked it was
something like ver 0.15 so it still has a few bugs. kde is stabler
although i still get a few bugs with it too, but nothing that crashes my
computer.
BTW the crashes could be comming from something other then X too. I had
some problems with my configuration in the past and the comupter crashed
on me too withh no connection to x.
What solved my problem was to upgrade the kernel( I also recompiled it,
put it depends on how unnormal your system and requirments are) It does
improve its speed.
Hope this helps
