I think what happend is you changed the location/compiled a new kernel,
without doing a lilo on it, so that's why you get LI and stuck....
I think you have two options (i'd pick #1):
1. run linux with loadlin and then do a liloconfig, adding your win95
partition also.
2. doing a fdisk /MBR when you're in windows on the drive LILO is installed
onto, and then
continue using linux through loadlin.
