What is the card? Intel kind? PnP?
usually you need to do 2 things
1. enable CONFIG_EXPERIMENRTAL in you /usr/src/linux/.config and
if you card now supported :)
2. if card PnP you need to use isapnp (after pnpdump of course) to
configure 'io' and 'irq' and give the vallues as parameters to module

no, you can just
