well, it supports OpenGL only through ICD wrapper on windows....none the
less Mesa-GL works fine and have a good performance.
the only problem is that nVidia isn't very commited to the open source
initative. their no longer releasing the source code of their drivers (their
actually pulling it back) and they never relased (nor they plan too)
register level coding for their cards....
BTW - same same with 3DFX, except that 3DFX are gonna stop distributing
chips and make their own card, there by making voodoo a propriety
technology.
if I were gonna make a concious buy today, and wanted the latest in video
power, I would buy one of the ATI Rage-128GL cards (Magnum I think one of
them is called, I don't remember the other one's name). thet sport 32MB of
RAM, OpenGL in hardware, performance just above and un-over-clocked TNT, and
they should have drivers for linux in the near future. in the mean time I
guess it's backward compatible with one of the Rage drivers in XFree86.

ooh.... scary ...
for the TNT about 1000 NIS (last time I checked . should be lower now as
TNT2 is almost out in israel). the Rage128 should be something like 800NIS

Oded
