Well, I think *this* is configurable for certain, at least in every decent
program. Or, in other words, the program that doesn't allow you changing
this without editing source propably needs much work before leaving alpha
stage. All window managers I saw allow configuring fonts for every single
string they put on the screen.
AFAIK, GNOME fonts are configurable. KDE are for certain (though their
charset support sucks badly, I hope the will correct this soon).
