Star office is very heavy, but I tried it on a pentium 90 and it ran fine.
try upgrading netscape, also. I moved from 4.5 to 4.61 and noe its very
stable. I know there is a newew version out.

kde is a heavy window manager (not the heaviest though).
If its a problem try fvwm2, its much lighter. May improve your
performance.

There is kde 1.1.2 out which is better, try upgrading.
Also You may try to recompile the kernel with your system settings.
Improved My performance (I am running a 486/dx2 with 24 M ram, so it
showed).
