Hi all,
well, I just installed RH 6.1 on to my
computer.
Everything works great, I even mounted my Win98 to the system, and
it's
perfect.
BUT, I can't seem to be able to use my AVM Fritz! PCI ISDN
card!
I read a few dozen disccusions on alt.linux, and figured that
getting kisdn is
the ticket, simply install RPM and run.
No compile, no
kernel mojo.. nothing.. REMEMBER, I'm a total newbie!
Anyhow, I
downloaded kisdn and installed the RPM. It detected my Fritz
and I was
happy.
BUT, nothing worked! Afterr i configured my card and ISP and
tried
to dial.. NOTHING happens! Not a movement of one pixel on
the KISDN
screen, no error message nothing..!
First question, am I
right by assuming that after a fresh RH6.1
install, installing kisdn will do
everything or am i missing out on
something...?
Ok.. next i try and
play around trying to figure out what's wrong..
Guess what..? There's
NO ipppd file on my system!
2nd Q: can this be..?!
Well.. fumbling in
the dark, I downloaded isdn4k-utils-1999-10-20.tar.gz
from AVM's site.. and..
and.. I don't have a clue of what to do now..
Since it's no RPM, i'm
clueless!
Anyhow, PLEASE help me out, explain to me as PLAINLY as
possible what I
can do now..
Again, I'm a Linux NEWBIE!!!
;)
Thanks a lot people!
