1). If you run RedHat, you need to tell /etc/nsswitch.conf how to resolve
hosts. Make sure there is a line in that file that says:
hosts: files dns
Moreover, make sure your /etc/resolv.conf looks like this:
domain access.net.il
search access.net.il inter.net.il
nameserver 205.164.141.8
nameserver 205.164.141.9
The nameservers do not need to be in /etc/hosts
