RE: AHA1505 problem

I have the same problem. I have Smart & Friendly cd writer. The docs says it
has to be "aha152x" driver, and it did work perfectly on redhat 5.2 .
It started when I installed linux (mandrake 6.0) and I was asked for scsi.
I choosed aha152x (as writen in the docs) and gave it "aha152x=0x340,12,7,1"
like I did in redhat 5.2. - I had to reboot the system and start the
instalation again.
several times. eventually I choosed "no scsi" and I recompiled the kernel to
support it.
It looked ok, but when I tried to use it I get the same responds you get:
the leds blink like they are accessed, but I can't access the device.
I still haven't found the solution.
