This might be the problem. New perl and old DBI-perl. Very old one, as I
see. I'd suggest you to go and take new one from CPAN and compile
and install yourself. Same with Mysql.

Between perl 5.004 and 5.005 there was much more changes than you'd
suggest from version number. And RH5.2 is compiled even against another
glibc, which is not 100% compatible with 5.0, AFAIK. Or was it Rawhide?
Anyway, I've seen many cases of binary incompatibilities between binaries
from 5.0 and libs from 5.2 and further - and vice versa. Try to compile
everything from source or use lastest (Rawhide?) RPMS if available. The
former is far better, and with perl and CPAN.pm it is not harder than
running rpm.
