redhat + slackware in two dif. partitions on the same machine

Hi

I install Redhat 5.2 on a machine the already had Slackware 3.6 and
Win95.
The Redhat can be boot from diskette without any problem.
The Slackware and Win95 is booted from disk using lilo mbr. I try to
add to my lilo.conf (on the Slackware partition) a pointer to the
Redhat image after I copied the vmlinuz+initrd files from the Redhat
partition to the Slackware one (=bootable). Redhat system starts to
boot and while uncompressing it gives the following error
"end_request: I/o error, dev 01:00, sector 29xx" them it dies.

The Slackware partition (who is also the MBR) is /dev/hda (ide 0,
partition 0), while the Redhat one is /dev/sda2 (scsi 0 , disk 0,
partition 1).

I attach the lilo.conf.
   Any ideas, same body ?
                      Thanks, Galia
