I have talked to the dean of the CS faculty and got his OK for a monthly
1-2 hour lecture-hall time, tommorow I'll talk to the woman who does the
allocation work and see if one is available for this friday or Thursday
evening, the chances are good. We are very possibly getting an official
spot for lectures. does the first friday of every month at noon a good
time for all? maybe first thursday night of every month? please send in
votes to linux-il-vote-meeting-times@ira.scso.com
I also visited COMDEX today, totally boring for me other than the SGI
booth (150 cm tall Tux sitting on an Origin 2000 Cray machine, visual
workstations running NT and SGI Linux 1.1 - a Red Hat variant)
I tried to find out how to contact Jon Hall but no luck. I'll make some
calls tommorow to Anashim U'Machshevim and send him Email in hope he
checks it while in Israel.
but I'd also need to know that at LEAST 30-40 people are coming to those
lectures, or it will be quite embarasing if I shoot all these juggling
balls in the air and nobody comes.
so please tell me (off list) ASAP if you intend to come, and try to do
it by tommorow morning. send it in the same message with your vote to
the above Email.
Eli Marmor: If you have the connections to the organizers and know how
to contact MadDog, please tell me, I don't have your phone number.
