I think that at least till 6.0 it was mainly modular sound support, which
you can get as a regular kernel patch from the redhat ftp site, and a few
drivers that weren't in the regular kernel since they're not stable
enough.   Since 2.2 has modular sound built-in, I'm not sure if they made
any changes - you can get the RH kernel SRPM to see if they did.

You don't actually need their changes anyway unless you want to use
"sndconfig" to configure your soundfcard - I'm running RH5.2 with my own
kernel.
