Seems to me that there was enough opposition to this feature, to make it go
away. The way I understood it, the purpose of the discussion was not to change
world order, but to ask which new features would be nice, thus the default
should be the current state. Enough subscribers oppose this feature. For me it
would also be an inconvenience, and I also believe that the nature of this list,
is a an open list and not a closed one. One shouldn't have to subscribe to
direct a question to this user group. So far I haven't faced that much spam
generated in this list (other than the usual messages which sometime seem like
spam ;-)
