Emacs & word wrap; X-server
Hi all,
1.
I need some help from an Emacs wizard:
I started using Emacs to write a major article with LaTeX (I really enjoy
working with UN-PROBLEMATIC programs to create texts), I even got full
syntax highlighting and word wrap (appearently called line-fill ????) to
work. The problem is that emacs simply inserts a CR at the end of the line
instead of working WITHOUT CRs (except where I set them) like many Windows
editors do. Thing is that I open the emacs window at different widths and
would like the text to automatically fill the whole width of the window.
How can I conince emacs not to insert CRs but just break the line at the
end of the window.
Another problem is, whenever TeXing a file, it asks wether I want to save
it. I assume that it is possible somwhere to change the TeX macros to do
an autosave whenever I TeX a file.
I use emacs 20.something (the one with Mule and hebrew support that says
"R2L not yet implemented :-) ) and tried to find the answer in the manual
(still didn't catch the info concept, though).
2.
I have to use a windows X-server since the linux box has no screen. The
windows X server uses windows fonts (in addition to some of it's own),
which, of course, are HEWBREW !!. I found that the x server has a program
to import .bdf fonts, but could not find a program to convert Linux .pcf
fonts into .bdf. The x-server is PC-Xware, I'll movev to Exceed soon,
though.My questions are:
1. is it possible to add the linux fonts to that server ?
2. how do i convert those .pcf to .bdf. What are the differences ? Are
they bitmap or vector fonts.
Thanks a lot,
Schlomo
PS: Please reply to the second address, too. It's my work address and I
didn't subscribe it to linux-il.
