I suppose Amos will not read this message. Anyway, he may or may
not agree with me on the subject of whether this list must be
open or closed -- that's fine with me, as I see I don't get too
much encouraging messages (although I do get some). I hope that
my latest proposal will meet more understanding from you (the
list members).

Amos may or may not be angry at me because I ranted about this
discussion on ASR.

But I think that even if I am a control freak, the fact that I
want this list closed is not one of the manifistations of that
quality of mine. If I said that I want this list moderated, or I
want to approve all the subscription requests personally, this
would be a control freakness (whatever the correct word is).
Instead, I tried to resolve the issue in such way that would keep
both me and most of the subscribers happy. I won't be happy if
the list is open, but making it closed and letting some messages
from non-subscribers through (again, see my last proposal) seems
like a reasonable solution to me.

If by calling me a control freak Amos meant my posting to ASR,
well, this posting may be called impolite, unappropriate,
immoral, whatever, but it's not connected to my control
freakness. It comes from other dark sides of my mind.

Happy Passover.
Vadik.
