Problems installing S3 Trio3D graphics adaptor
Hi
I run a RedHat 6.1 Machine with a S3 graphical card called Trio 3D, with
a MAG 770T monitor.
It took me some time to get any kind of graphical display but now it
seems to work....
currently I use the generic SVGA X Server:
[ariev@ariev ~]# ls -l /etc/X11/X
lrwxrwxrwx 2 root root 29 Dec 19 09:49 /etc/X11/X ->
./../usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_SVGA
and the Modeline entry in use is:
Modeline "_1200x900" 109.20 1200 1216 1448 1560 900
900 910 940
It's for a 1200x900 mode and was created using kvideogen
The only and big problem I've got is that the screen flickers! and it
gives me a headache!
another problem is that I wasn't able to get 1024x768 with any
configuration I tried....
As I rampaged through the net I found out that this display card is
problematic with XFree86 and is not supported very well....
Does anybody has anything to offer me? (I have read all the HOWTOs....)
It's quite annoying, because as I boot up windows 95 it works perfectly!
Please help
