Perl DBI/DBD::* modules. DBI manpage has a good docs. As for ODBC - you
need ODBC client for Unix. There are some, commercial and free, and maybe
also DBD::ODBC. Try looking in CPAN (simplest way - run perl -MCPAN
-eshell, and enter i /ODBC/ and see what it gives).
Also, in those docs should be reference to DBI pages, where I'm sure there
are pointers to books also.
