This would be a good place to recommend VA Research's bootroot
floppies. They all fit on one floppy, the newer ones are in 1.7MB
format [which, BTW, does require preformatting 7:-].

They have _very_ nice stuff like lots of network drivers, nfs, vfat,
dd, tar, the works. Saved me a lotta work several times.

One note, though: they are not perfect. The "notebook" script in the
latest image appears to be broken, so if you need pcmcia etc. try
your luck with an older version.
